Officer Injured
Officer injured in Northwest Side high school fight. All angels, no doubt. Wonder how those West Side and South Side schools are doing today?
- One person was hospitalized in fair-to-serious condition and "multiple arrests" are being made after a disturbance at a high school on the Northwest Side, officials said.
The incident was reported at about 1:03 p.m. today at Foreman High School, 3235 N. Leclaire Avenue, officials said.
Officials said the an altercation broke out between students at the school and lead to 10 people being arrested, said Chicago Public Schools Spokeswoman Monique Bond.
A Chicago police officer received minor injuries during the disturbance, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
Chicago fire department officials said at least one person was taken to Lutheran General Hospital at about 1:16 p.m.

Drove past Foreman and it looked as if every car in 16 was there.
Shouldn't there be a cost- benefit analysis of CPS. What a waste of money.

CPS. Exactly the reason I am job searching now. I dream of the day I can look in the rearview mirror of my moving truck and give a big middle finger to this city.
There are a lot less Police Officers and respect (or fear) of, or for, the law is at an all time low. Officers are being challenged by offenders constantly. This is a bad situation for society to be in, but an incredibly dangerous time for us.
A friend asked me if anyone had ever tried to disarm me. As with most of us, it happened more than once, but I always had a lot of help and it ended well. With the manpower available now, I would have shot them in the same situation.
Real Police Officers can't help themselves. You can tell them to slow down and be more cautious, but they won't. They are like a dog on a scent. I expect Police shootings to escalate because of the limited manpower.
Heard there was a riot, teachers got their asses kicked, coppers too.

Would you expect anything else from the little darlings. They should all be expelled and their families thrown out fo their free section 8 housing.

I think there were 10 or 14 cars there. The school unit kept calling for units. 1651 was all the way at a crash at Myrtle and Harlem and went wide open all the way there. 5 mins later, Sgt Dolan was screaming for a slow down, while the school unit kept calling for more cars. it was a crazy scene.

A CFD Ambulance will take a injured PO to any hospital he wants them to.
Perhaps the officer wished to go there for any one of a multitude of reasons, up to and including that OLR is a shitty hospital and has been for 40years no matter what name it has been called, either Northwest, John F Kennedy or OLR.
The predictive analyst unit said they used the Caragie-Melon equation and that revealed the fight was going to break out at St. Pats.

I wouldn't take my dog to OLR for treatment. Given the choice, I'd opt for Lutheran General too!

This happens everyday at Clemente High School. Tuesday rolling fights on the 5th and 6th floor. They even brought out the helicopter. For you PO's in 014 don't put yourselves in a trickbag with this nonsense. Western/Divison is all wired with camera's. Ray Figueroa, former judge and aldermanic candidate is one of the fools that condones this and doesn't want you to touch his little students unless they mess with his liquor store at Campbell/Division. Couple of years ago P/O Trevino was shot in the arm out here and this shit continues. I've warned a couple of you young hard chargers this is not the military. We thank you for your service but you are dealing with J-Fled and civilian courts. If your kid doesn't go to Clemente, stay away.

Its official,there is not one good high school left in Chicago. Even taft has shitheads. Is it too much to ask for one and i could only speak for NWsiders,to have one high school filled with only neighborhood kids from local elementary schools go. My sympathy goes out to my south side brothers,Beverly,MT Greenwood,Garfield Ridge ,etc. I say rent a studio apt in a nice burb 500.00 a month send the lil ones to a nice suburban school.Its cheaper than paying the out of district price,or use mamas address
Foreman on the NW side might as well be Foreman on the west side because that is the ghetto mentality that attends that school.
Speaking of 016, word of advice, if you live on bt 1632 or 1631. Lock your car in garage. Over 40, yes 40 cars, all Hondas, have been stolen and or recovered near Addison/Harlem in past 2 weeks. 40! So instead of calling about neighbor's truck parked on street better watch your cars. Oh thats right you too busy claiming to be real police in ghettos instead of coming to 016 where 3 to 4 cars are downed every night. And no disrespect to oldtimers on days but if you cant function or dont want to do SOMETHING then retire? ot Sorry a few people were wondering about there water.Numerous homes in the area have reported experiencing noxious odors coming from basement floor drains. Responding to this situation were the departments of Water Management, Chicago Fire Department, Department of Environment along with Metropolitan Water Reclamation District. Their findings indicate that the odor was the result of a release from a Blue Island plant and subsequent vapor migration through the MWRD interceptor in the area. The odors come from a petroleum base substance and these agencies are working to determine the exact chemical makeup. We will forward that information as soon as it is available.
It has been determined that the sewers are now clear. In order to eliminate any lingering odors it is suggested that you open windows or doors and also pour several cups of vegetable oil into the basement floor drains.

Kennedy H.S. is going to blow this year because the number of neighborhood students has almost doubled due to the recession and the previous student population is not happy about competing with kids who do their homework,know how to read and expect an education from the school they attend.
It saddens me to see whats happened to Foreman.I,ve lived in the neighborhood all my life.My brother-in-law played football there back in the 40s. Two of my children went there in the 60s.Ive slowly watched this neighborhood go to pieces.I still love it here though.Thanks to all the policemen in 16.I know your trying your best to keep it decent here.
When I went to St Jeromes until 1975, things were VERY different. I remember calling my first grade teache fat. She slapped me and then smashed my fingers with a ruler, dragged me to Sister Mary Leahy who then shaved a bar of ivory into my mouth and made me sit in the corner. Then Officer Flynn, the beat cop strolled in, and swatted me in the ass, grabbed me by the left ear and walked me home. Then my grandma slapped the hell out of me and made me sit in the corner and read the Websters dictionary out loud. I choose the word "AMPLE" now, not fat.

I feel sory for city employees that live on the siuth side. Cheap homes, bad schools. On the northwest side, we have several schools to choose from in peaceful neighborhhods. Taft is a fine school. If your kids had good grades go to a magnet school for free. Otherwise pay $10,000 a year for high school.

Why wasn't the 10-1 broadcated on zone 12? I work in 025 and no one told us over the air that there was a 10-1 at Foreman High School.
These fucking kids can put their hands on us. But if we get rough with them, then there is hell to pay. Not fair.

Yes, I've wondered that myself. Maybe we could get a Federal grant for a study that would try and explain this phenomenon.
Maybe it could be like the traffic "study" that we've been doing for the last......oh, how long has it been? You know, the one that had us fill out those stickers asking questions like "Without asking, what race do you believe the driver was?" How many times have they poured over the data, only to continue the study because they didn't like the results. Well, I guess if the facts don't fit the figures......

OLR sucks as a hospital and not very police friendly..a courtesy to them is letting you enter the hospital!!
P.O. told me he responded to a fight at Cicero and Eddy where one of the kids there was from 62nd and Evans!!!! Schurz student(sp?). So having them come up here is working out for whom exactly???

Just pay the $$ and send your child to a private school. Stop asking for grants and tax rebates. As soon as it's almost free every dog will there too. DO YOUR JOB. Take care of your kids education and then hold your head up and take pride in the fact that you do. Don't bring boxes of candy or junk to work and ask me to pay your childs tuition. I was a single mother and got no child support. My kids always attended catholic schools, full price. I bought all the calenders then through them out. I bought all the candy, cookies, boxes of fruits etc and donated it to seniors etc. Please extend the same courtesy to me and others. It's become unbearable and I'm going to ask that it be banned on dept property. I'm not alone.
