4.5 Years for Burge
Probably not the last word on the whole thing, seeing as how appeals might take another few years, but we suppose if you hammer the same theme over and over and over again, something is going to stick eventually:
In a packed courtroom with more than half a dozen deputy U.S. Marshals keeping watch, U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow sentenced former Chicago Police Cmdr. Jon Burge to 4 ½ years in prison, telling him she believed he lied under oath in the trial before her and defiled justice in his time as a police official.
In remarks that capped an emotional two-day hearing – one that saw the hard-edged Burge reduced to tears -- Lefkow castigated law enforcement authorities for failing to put a close to the ugly chapter in the city’s history decades earlier and gave weight to claims of torture at the hands of Burge and his underlings.
So Lefkow blames a lack of supervision over Burge, but doesn't even begin to speculate why none of them are before the bench? And then, not a whisper or a hint over the State's Attorney who was running the show, making cases with supposedly coerced testimony, when all of this allegedly took place?
If this is the case, we supposed we can all take comfort in the fact that the tradition of inadequate, irrelevant and incompetent management continues to this very day.

Burge gets 4.5 years in prison. I'd bet the farm that Burge will not be arrested again in his life but the habitual offender can go on and on committing armed robberies, sexual assaults, gun crimes, etc and not be rightfully punished by the judges.
Burge is not at all a threat to society so why give him 4.5 years in prison? Because the punishment fits the crime? Well then I expect to see the proper sentences for the assholes who commit violent crimes and cause chaos. The true menaces to society always get a slap on the wrist and are allowed to continue their carnage.
My question is this: If the charges are perjury and obstruction then why did Lefkow allude to the actual torture allegations when she was sentencing Burge? He wasn't being charged with that. He was being charged with lying under oath. The torture allegations were never proved.
How can she bring up torture while sentencing somebody for lying? Aren't judges supposed to be objective? By mentioning the allegations of yesteryear she's admitting that her personal feelings and interpretations swayed her decision.
Lefkow is a typical liberal. Judge who likes to make her own guidelines. As far as Fitzgerald is concerned, he's a pandering piece of shit.. when lefkow And Fitzgerald were both privileged young lawyers in the 80's, one man was busy arresting the filth of society. Murderers, arsonists, rapists, people that would never have been brought to justice in the fictitious town of mayberry, but in area 2 thank God they were..
There's a place in hell awaiting all the felons walking around like avenged angels. More importantly there's a place in heaven awating John Burge.
"...not a whisper or a hint over the State's Attorney who was running the show, making cases with supposedly coerced testimony, when all of this allegedly took place?"
Guilty or innocent aside, this is just another example of Tricky Dick Daley's legacy; even when he's up to his ass in shit, he's more than happy to let someone else take a fall.
She bowed to the media and racist punk bitches. Burge was a great copper. If he met Weis on the street he would have bitch-slapped him so hard he would have hit his relatives.
If I ever open an antiques store, all I will sell are balls. They are so damn rare anymore.
Let's see, who was that States Attorney when Burge was allegedly running amok?
Wasn't it Richard M. Daley? Well what do you know, I believe it was!
Doesn't Daley get a lifetime pension from Cook County for being the Cook County States Attorney?
Well, yes again.
And a pension of 80% of his mayoral pay for life, plus COLA?
Right again.
And a pension from the State of Illinois for being an Illinois State Legislature when his dad got him started in the family business?
Sure. What's the matter with that?
And why hasn't Daley ever answered any questions about this torture thing?
I dunno, I guess he didn't want to.
Oh.
Gee, let's see the States Attorney was none other than our current Mayor, whom may I ad, needed all the help in the world to pass the Bar, after several tries. And LEFOW the liberal not basing her decision on the alleged perjury, but instead on torture, which was never proven! Did she base her findings on the belief that we may face a Rodney King backlash, with the LINK and WIC recipiants rioting? I believe she did. Wasn't it the CPD under Phil Cline who relentlessly bent over to please her in the murder of her husband? and then place officers as security at her residence. Those of us who know Commander Burge and had the pleasure of working for him, know he is a no nonsense POLICEMAN, rough around the edges, but a COPS COP. With God's hand hopefully the appeals process will overturn her bias decision. Run the sheet on anyone of these so called victims. They are all career criminals, period. What else can we expect from the MOST crooked and biased judicial district in the COUNTRY. My prayers are with you Commander Burge!
Burge was a great copper, too bad there isn't more like him. if there was maybe chicago wouldn't be such a city full of crap.
When the G can't get a conviction for criminal behavior, they always charge a policeman with perjury for lying. Do they ever charge these dogs with lying when they're pinched? Put the police in prison and let the dogs roam free? God help us. God help society.
In the article that I read Fitzgerald states that the investigation is continuing. Does that mean that the G is possibly investigating the Cook County State Attorney's Office? If so, will this investigation go all the way from the lowest third chair to whoever was in charge back then? In other words, will it include Daley and his minions?
Don't bet on it. If any or all allegations are true, and you can bet that they are not, then does it not make sense that the prosecuters knew what had occurred, and ignored these felonies? If so, then they are as guilty as Burge is purported to be. And if this is the case, then they, along with their boss, Daley, should be brought to justice.
Pass the kool-aid please.
Off topic, when the state declares bankruptcy and the pensions get flushed. Will this affect politicians and college professors? If so its almost worth it. I'm young enough to get out of here. Like to see Bill Ayers scrubing toliets. Like to see Bobby Rush washing tables. Ha Ha every cloud has silver lining.
My grandfather and father where chgo police and I have been on the job for over 15 years. Both knew John Burge and when these torture allegations first became public, both told me how things where different then and how you had to police different back then. Some of that may be true but most of it was B.S. We can't sit here and justify what Burge did because most of them where career criminals, because some where not. If we justify what Burge did all it will do is make the public lose what little respect they have now for police in chgo.
Daley was the State's Attorney during this alleged torture. Why isn't he being sentenced?
If Burge was a get along and only did the minimum not working his ass off to put cop killers and other vile scum in prison, he would be in Fla right now enjoying his retirement. So learn the lesson, do not work your ass off for these liberal pukes. Follow the letter of the law after all you do not want to violate anyones civil rights. Make sure you have buku probable cause with witnesses.
Convicted cops face special issues serving jail time
By Frank Main Sun-Times Media Jan 21, 2011 11:43PM
When former Chicago police Cmdr. Jon Burge reports to prison to serve his 54-month sentence for perjury and obstruction of justice, he may want to consider the experiences of one of his former homicide detectives.
William Pedersen served 15 months in the federal prison at Oxford, Wis., on a 1992 conviction for theft of public records related to a side job in which he did background checks of job applicants.
The moment he walked into prison, Pedersen knew he was under a microscope by his fellow inmates because he was a cop.
“You would get hit with shoulders as you walked down the hall the first month,” said Pedersen, now 64 — a year older than Burge. “But things calmed down. You don’t want to stand out, and you don’t want people to think you are afraid. You just want to be in the shadows and do your time.”

We all know the truth about these "innocents" THEY DID THE CRIMES THEY WERE ACCUSED OF.
The Wilson Brothers have a special place in hell for what they did.
They are all pieces of shit and were handed the world on a platter when the do-gooders got them out and more than one of them is right back in the joint.
Too bad, this will be a life sentence for Jon--God Bless and Keep You My Friend.
Former A2 Dick
as a retired dick I've seen first hand how the big bad killers in society turn into a bunch of whining, begging, crying, lying,
scheming, crybaies once they are in custody.
They will say and do anything to escape their future of doom down the road.
I often wondered how this "killer" could mutilate others so coldly and still be the wimp now sobbing before me.
I know them...
do not tell me that these poor "victims" of today kept silent with their own lawyers, or the states atty who always interview them. right lil dick?
How did a man who was protecting society from these scum become the goat for the state?
Not one comment from or about daley??? How ?
Shortshanks dodges the bullet again! What a farce
To everyone involved in this malicious prosecution, a extra large slice of fuck you pie.
Hey, Dept. of Injustice, when are you gonna investigate the Daley crime organization?
I know, Holder, Emmanuel, Billy Daley, et al.
Judge Lefkow indeed.
It is clear from the statements made by the political hack and police hating judge that Cmdr. Burge was being sentenced for the wrong offense. And if Burge is on his way to prison, he should be handcuffed to Daley.
The judge hit the nail on the head. There is no compentent leadership. The furthest thought from any exempt is concern about about the people in the field.
how does judge lefkow question management at the time that these allegations occured--- burge was the management, he was the commander of the unit--- you do not talk to these people who commit these horrific crimes like you are mr. rogers--- poor andrew and jackie wilson, the big bad police mistreated them--- 4.5 years for what, a bunch of lying criminals who are looking for a big payday, a cast of co-conspirators orchestrated by the scum bag flint taylor.... a sad day indeed for the cpd and commander burge....
Daley never made a case cause there was none! Lefklow apparently has her own agenda and we all see what kind of life she is already stuck with. Karma is the biggest bitch.
Burge was the fall guy because he did the job that needed to be done. I think the speech that Nicholson gave Cruise in the movie "A Few Good Men" would be a speech that Burge should have given Lefkow. Here is the speech with the appropriate substitutions.
Burge: You want answers?
Lefko: I think I'm entitled to them.
Burge: You want answers?
Lefko: I want the truth!
Burge: You can't handle the truth! Judge, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Judge Lefkow? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for these POS and you curse CPD. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that these POS death sentences, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall.
We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline.
I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a woman who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom and safety I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!
Daley spent over 7 million dollars of the taxpayers money filing motions on why he should not be compelled to testify or give depositions in any of the Burge et al law suits. When it was ruled he had to testify, he ordered the corp council attorneys to settle. These settlements were against the advice of the outside law firms hired by the city to defend Burge et al. These firms had conducted investigations and each firm felt the cases would be won by the city and wanted to go to trial. They forewarned that by paying the suits would cause more problems. Of course by settling it does absolve a police officer of punitive damages but sometimes maybe a fight is what is needed. FOP work for TORT REFORM.
Still makes me sick how the dept. invested an overkill of resources for her family members murder, I understand she has an important role in our society as a federal judge, add some extra det's, intelligence, and some feds. This dept had 50-60 det's, numerous feds, and superman Chasen on the case who drove up to Wisconsin when the beat officer came across the offender.
I need to get out of this country.
Judge Lefkow seems to have let her emotions rule her decision. There is no room for that on the bench. This ruling should be overturned and she should not be a sitting judge.
There is a reason she is called "Loony Lefkow" by her peers. By the way, I got that little tidbit from a criminal attorney.
Well based on fiztgeralds statement, for this to serve as a deterent to the rest of the police. Well your point is well taken I will no longer serve the black community by removing the murders, rapest, robbers, drug dealers off of the streets. I don't want to end up in jail on unfounded charges by the murders, rapists, drug dealers, etc protecting the good people in the black community. I guess that is your hidden agenda is to let the black community waste away to the thugs of their society.
Meanwhile you let the Daley crime family roam free stealing the working taxpayers of societies money so much they are on the brink of bankruptcy. You sir have obviously been bought off and hope you see your day on the defense someday and rot in jail with the rest of the true criminals.
Pat's prosecution and Joan's sentencing has set the black community back 50 years in ever trying to rid themselves of thugs that prey in their community and make life impossible for the good people that live there. Good job you two racists!
And good luck in those communities trying to get the police to help you now and make a difference.
Some people will never understand!
Actually I was in the court room and she did place blame on both the US prosecutors and the Cook Co. State's Attorney's office for not prosecuting him sooner. Make sure you know what your talking about before you attack the judge without reading her full remarks.
I never met Burge, but I still think he's a man among men. Men like him are a dying breed. He can still hold his head high.
Good job Commander. The city is safer because of your service to your country & city!
To all you crybaby liberal pukes, kiss my ass. To flint taylor and the northwestern college pukes..a hearty fuck you! The shit you represent are all guilty and get no sympathy from me. The only one that gets any sympathy from me is Burge. He got the right offender's, case closed.
I'll be writing to him while he is in prison and donating to his benefit fund!
NOW LETS PROSECUTE THE JOURNALISM PROFESSOR AND STUDENTS THAT MANUFACTURED EVIDENCE AND PAID SHITHEADS FOR THEIR TESTIMONY IN THE CIVIL SUITS!THIS SOUNDS WORSE THAN ANYTHING BURGE WAS SAID TO HAVE DONE! LIBERAL HYPOCRITES!
If I ever open an antiques store, all I will sell are balls. They are so damn rare anymore.

it'll be tough building your Inventory, even if you start with your own.
Thank you John Burge for your life of service to this country and to the Chicago Police Department. I say this despite all the allegations of torture that were never really proved. God bless you and once again a sincere thank you for all your years of service.
Lefkow has made decisions before that werent taken very well. Hopefully, lt. burge can rise above this and overcome his
health issues. Maybe the dimes will start dropping and fitzgerald can start doling out real justice, starting with the man who has placed our great city on the verge of bankruptcy and anoited the pixie who made millions on the mortgage fiasco.
Burge was an asshole.
None of you knew him. He got other dicks to fall under his thumb and all of you should beware because this is the true danger on this job. There are far too many followers on this job. Too many coppers who want something in return, be it glory, awards, friends, whatever.
Ask all those other dicks who surrendered to Burge, if they are happy they did. In almost every case where a cop is hauled off to jail there is a leader and a couple of followers right behind.
At least in this case only the leader went.
The judge could'nt consider the
torture allegations because the
statute of limitations had long
since expired and Dick Devine saw
this coming and hurriedly beat a
hasty retreat. He had Daley's back
at the time.
Its a sad day when a liberal judge & jurors believe murderers, rapists & scumbags over a man who served his country & received the Bronze star & removed criminals from the streets....
Enlightening perspectives.
http://ward19corruption.blogspot.com/2011/01/skinny-sheahan-is-piece-of-shit.html
Feel the Brotherhood.
Jon Burge was politically railroaded.
If the Federal Government wants to try Burge on Torture Charges, then bring Torture Charges - not the chicken shit Grand Jury Indictment that came visa vi U.S. Attorney Fitzgerald "intimidating and threatening" former A2 Detective McDermott as McDermott is entering Grand Jury room.
The cicumstances involved with McDermott's Summer 2008 Grand Jury Testimony is a very strong basis for an appeal as same testimony was basis for Burge's Fall 2008 indictment AND same testimony was impaired when McDermott turned hostile witness for Federal Gov't during his Summer 2010 trial testimony.
This is the same bullshit at play during the Valerie Plame bullshit - unconstitutional and unprecedented intimidation of witnesses.
Meanwhile, Rezko and Nadhmi Auchi (Sadaam Hussein's bagman) are getting a Hall Pass from Fitzgerald?!?!
Allison Davis and Vanecko are getting Hall Passes from Fitzgerald?
Jesus Christ! Who does Fitzgerald think he is?
Fitzgerald has pissed all over the U.S. Constitution under-the-veil of Justice via jailing journalists and intimidating U.S. Grand Jury Witnesses?
His behavior defines TYRANNY.
Who oversee's Fitzgerald and Holder?
During the Summer 2010 Trial U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is dispatching his PAID staffer to sit-in on The Burge Trial? WTF!?!?
Can't Dick Durbin delegate real work to Laura Lefkow?
http://www.legistorm.com/person/Laura_B_Lefkow/75570.html
The Machine Democrats have been persecuting Illinoisans with this BS for decades. I cannot wait until GOP starts investigating Dick Durbin, Patrick Fitzgerald and Obama cronies.
Now same Democratic Machine wants to JAM Rahm Emanuel down-our-throats?
Aren't the CCSAO still to this day immune from any prosecution?
He was looking for at-a-boys from his bosses. He only did what his bosses wanted him to do. He is not to blame. He only did what he was good doing. BLAME his bosses and the Schank.
Hey, whay about all the higher ups that perjure themselves in depositions of when they concoct allegations (rule 14) to hurt a subordinate. Will they be brought up on charges? I hope so.
How can she bring up torture while sentencing somebody for lying? Aren't judges supposed to be objective? By mentioning the allegations of yesteryear she's admitting that her personal feelings and interpretations swayed her decision.
1/22/2011 01:01:00 AM
Can't you see how political this became. The sentencing is a farce and Lefkow's uttering of torture appeases the media and its intell-deficient audience.
The then commander of Area 2 Detective Division was Leroy Martin and Daley was the SA.

To: "I'd bet the farm that Burge will not be arrested again in his life" You got that right, very well put!!!! This makes me sick!!!! And that POS says in his sad statement..."you was suppose to be the law" Vomit!!!!
this judge if one wishes to call her a judge needs to be forced to retire... she protects the scumbags.
Read about the Burge verdict right next to the story about the doctor from Philly who spent the last couple decades aborting babies up to 8 months, with a pair of scissors and keeping parts of them around his office, all the while making loads of cash. Now to all the liberals out there, who do you think the real monsters are? Get your heads out of your asses and be thankful there's brave men and women still willing to deal with evil.
Anybody who goes the extra mile for these assholes is a fool. Everybody wants to hang a cop. You are damned if you do, you are damned if you don't. When the shit hits the fan and everyone wants something done, sorry the rules must be followed. No gray areas. Just do your job in a professional manner and nobody can complain. Take your pension (If it is still there) and run. Nobody wanted this job when realtors and computer programmers were making $200,000.00 a year but now they cry because they do not have a pension. They could have stood in line and taken the test but they did not want to work nights and weekends.
Time out, when was Bryzec superintendent? Did he do anything in the way of getting a CR number or involve either OPS or Internal Affairs on any of this alleged activity? I for one wish Judge Lekow would have joined her husband and I can only hope that Flint Taylor will someday get what he's got coming...and I don't mean the 30 percent off the top of the donkey's awards. Next time you're in trouble, let The Madison Hobleys or the Jeremiah Meerdays of the world bail you out. The whole thing makes me sick.
Maybe Lefkow gave Burge a gift with her remarks regarding torture instead of perjury in her sentencing. MAYBE....she allowed Burge a great avenue for appeal with her liberal remarks. MAYBE she was actually helping him!!!!
Burge's clowny lawyers did not do him any favors. Hootin and hollerin about how Burge never did a thing AFTER the verdict and AT SENTENCING was pretty fucking stupid. That shit might play in front of the retard judges at 26th Street, but it don't play at 219 S. Dearborn. Lefkow said she was appalled by the lawyers at sentencing. Way to go, guys!!
Maybe Lefkow gave Burge a gift with her remarks regarding torture instead of perjury in her sentencing. MAYBE....she allowed Burge a great avenue for appeal with her liberal remarks. MAYBE she was actually helping him!!!!

...and MAYBE I can eat a dozen apples and shit a fruit salad.
NEXT on the agenda!
I hear Fitzgerald has found a 96 year old retired copper still alive who shot an auto thief in 1942 (which was legal then)but he found he lied about it to his caregiver. He also has a 88yr old Pisano passing out parlay cards on Taylor Street. But don't worry Rahm, he is mum about the Blago Tapes. And he thinks Jfled has an awesome physique.

Do you know the differences between the words 'where' 'were' and 'we're' and when to use them? Apparently not!!
What happened to forgiveness and redemption? Doesn't everybody deserve a second chance? Where are all the bleeding hearts now? They're always pushing to get the savages out of prison but they can't get Burge in there fast enough.
Re: Leadership
Over the years, why weren't these leaders below put on trial?
Three ,
Four ,
Six , and Former Mayors Daley I, Bilandic, Byrne, Washington, Sawyer and Daley II
Burge was an asshole.
None of you knew him. He got other dicks to fall under his thumb and all of you should beware because this is the true danger on this job.
Burge was an asshole. No he's not.
You're the asshole. ASSHOLE.
Go back to your non-policing hole, and shut the fuck up.
I never met Burge, but I still think he's a man among men. Men like him are a dying breed. He can still hold his head high.
The Shankster is complicit in the Burge lynching. As soon and Skin Flint Taylor and his ilk started picketing Daley's home and the fifth floor he caved in like a Peruvian mine shaft. He told flunkies, "Jon Burge is a political embarrassment to me. Get rid of him." Daley, Fitzgerald, Durbin, and the entire DemocRAT cesspool dwellers are embarrassment enough to themselves. They don't need any extraneous help.
Flint Taylor and his Rachel Maddow look-alike partner were sitting in the front row of the courtroom, a place usually reserved for U.S Attorney Staff and FBI, goes to show you the relationship and cooperation provided by the People's :aw Office to the FEDS. It was disgrace what occurred in this case, and the FEDS knew it. The case agent was a female with threey years on as a agent, don't you think if this case was so imortant that there would of been some seasoned agent handling things, nobody wanted it. As for the Judge, she was biased from the beginning, she allowed the G to bring in eidence that will hopefully aid in Commander Burge's appeal.
Also, one of the speakers at the sentnecing was a brother of murdered Officer Fahey, he gave an emotional speech and thanked Jon Burge for his never-ending support to his family.
This dept had 50-60 det's, numerous feds, and superman Chasen on the case who drove up to Wisconsin when the beat officer came across the offender.
1/22/2011 11:04:00 AM
As with most of the cases with which he was involved, Chasen was not a factor.
I just read Mary Mitchell's column in the Sun Times and felt that someone should take her to task, so here I am.
#1 The Commanders that Jon Burge worked for in Area 2 were Milton Deas, Leroy Martin and Hubert Holton.
#2 The Depupy Superintendent of Investigative Services was Rudy Nimocks.
#3 The Superintendent of Police who promoted Jon Burge was Fred Rice and he reported to Harold Washington. The Superintendent who retained Jon Burge as a Commander was Leroy Martin and he reported to Eugene Sawyer.
#4 All of these gentlemen just happen to be Afro-American.
#5 The murders committed in Area 2 in the 1970's and 1980's were not committed by whites but were committed by blacks. I doubt that there was more than one murderer, who happened to be white in any year in that time span and that was probably a domestic incident.
#6 The FOP has offered a legal defense policy for many years. If a member of the FOP desires to join this fund he signs up for the fund and money is withheld from his pay check. This is similar to a contract with an insurance company and the FOP is required to provide representation to the particpants. Jon Burge was a participant and the FOP had no choice but to pay for his lawyers.
#7 Anthony Holmes never complained about his treatment until 20 years after he was convicted. This fact sheds doubts on his credibility.
#8 Madison Hobley did not testify at Burge's trial. After George Ryan pardoned him ATF reinvestigated these multiple murders and recommended that he be indicted. It appears that Patrick Fitzgerald felt that this would impede the Burge trial and has not moved forward with the request. Hobley could still be indicted, no statute of limitations for arson connected deaths, and he would testify against Burge because he could be cross examined..
#9 Flint Taylor has conducted a media blitz for many years. If one hears a lie time after time for many years and no one is allowed to rebute the lie then the masses will believe same.
10. The Sun Times should require Mary Mitchell to investigate what she offers for publication because many times her so-called facts are way off!

---
Not true. FOP refuses to provide an attorney for many PO's. Ask any of these pissed off PO's who will soon be voting against Citywide team.
"Off duty incident" FOP tells these officers, doesn't get cover of an FOP attorney.
Burge was indicted for lying to the FBI and making false statements in approximately 2003.
Burge was fired in 1993, ten years before he allegedly lied to the FBI and made other alleged false statements.
(link to indictment and story)
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/21/jon-burge-indictment_n_136559.html
So Burge was at least 10 years removed from the police department when he allegedly lied to the FBI etc.
Just how wide an umbrella does the FOP legal plan provide? 10 years after termination? He was fired, not retired in good standing and 10 years removed from the job.
All of the officers refused counsel that I know were employed by the CPD and dues paying members of the FOP including it's legal plan, yet they were refused attorneys. You can find examples in districts all over the city. Ask around.
So don't tell me that it is "like an insurance policy, FOP has no choice but to pay."
Oh yes they do.
And the Board of Directors voted to pay Burge's legal bills on the lying charge, much to the consternation of many officers in attendance at the FOP General Meeting where it was announced.
The legal bills covered by the FOP was not automatic. If so, I know of numerous officers who will gladly accept reimbursement for the money they spent on attorneys.
now as far as his accusers go,
how many of these guys had violent criminal histories?
are any of them just honest guys that were in the wrong place at the wrong time?
Gregory Banks, the Wilson Brothers
Aaron Patterson, LeRoy Orange, Stanely Howard, and Madison Hobley
does anyone have the whole story on any of these specific guys/their criminal histories?

Yeah, each of them really did commit the crime that they were in jail for.
When does Clinton get charged for his purjury in the Monica Lewinski scandle? I think the President of the United States committing perjury is worth more than 4 1/2 years then, don't you?
The crimes that Burge was charged with were duty related, just like the crimes that Bill Cozzi was charged with. That is why the FOP was required to provide legal representation.
DUI's, domestic batteries, and drug offenses are not job related and therefore the FOP should not provide legal representation.
Mr. Burge,
I once worked for a man that formerly worked for you. He loved you, respected you and admired you as a man, a war hero and as an excellent police officer. He is now gone, but he, too, was a good man and a great copper. It speaks volumes to me that you had his love, respect and admiration. Good luck to you sir and may prayers for your vindication be answered.
Old Retired Guy, but not the other Old Retired Guy.
NEVER, and I mean never have I seen a typewriter cover in all of the CPD. Your lucky if the typewriter works. Let's not forget that the "Black-box" held high for the cameras by Flint & Co., was a 'prototype' made by those pricks for dramatic effect. There was no black box folks (people). Must be on the Flo' of Lake Michigan after a 'boat ride'. . . . right? NP.

“In a government of laws, existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously. Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. To declare that in the administration of the criminal law the end justifies the means—to declare that the government may commit crimes in order to secure the conviction of a private criminal—would bring terrible retribution" ...Justice Louis Brandeis’s dissent in a 1928 Supreme Court decision, Olmstead v. United States.
