Off topic: for those of you who want to hear (hopefully) the last ass-kissing that Craig Dellimore gives J-Fled, you can listen in to last week's "At Issue" podcast on NewsRadio 780 by going to the link below. Be forewarned, Weis sounds like he's reading from a carefully prepared script; he also talks about 'not looking for a job right now, but probably as I get closer to the end of my contract' as he shamelessly panders for a job 'perhaps in the private sector' on this program. Add to that, he says that he doesn't think he will accept a job as a police chief anywhere else, 'because I've been in the big leagues now.' He goes on to name Charlie Beck and Ray Kelly (Chiefs of the LAPD and NYPD respectively), saying 'those jobs are taken,' when he knows damn well he can't hold a candle to either of those men.

He's heavier than whale shit. He enjoyed a meteoric rise through this department.
He left the department for a bit to be one of the head honchos at the Water Dept. When he had enough of the Water Dept. he came back to CPD and has one good job after another. As you can see leaving the Dept. for awhile did not stunt his ascent.
Remember it's all legit though . Both JFraud and King Ritchie have said so.

The last decent DC in 017 was Capt TL when he was the acting DC for 3 months right before jfled came to town and wiped out the command structure. He propbably would not haved retired if he was made DC of 017.

Suggestion for the next Supt (If you are smart!):
Look at all of the recently retired Capts & Lts from the last year or so and bring some of them back to be your new command group. Way too much great experience and knowledge left prematurly. Many of them left in disgust of the way the Dept has turned under jfled. They could be the new leadership as most of jfled's promotions were a joke.

One thing I have noticed is that there is a direct correlation between knowledge of who has what spot and an inability to be the police. If you care about who is in charge you are likely a bad cop who owes her career to ass kissing and not actually doing the job of a police officer which is to arrest criminals and obtain convictions.
I have to stick up for Ralph Price. When he was a watch commander on midnights he came out of the station to defend his troops at a local wriglyville club that was beefing on police. I was there because I was the copper they were beefing on. He did these such things on many a situations that needed a ranking person to make a point. If you were a worker he backed you. Say what you want about other changes made because I do not know them, but gotta speak up when it is appropriate.

Someone should be ashamed of themselves for making this nonsense up. No new test have been scheduled or even discussed at this point. Class was scheduled to begin, but was put on hold. Might have a small class in the near future but nothing have been confirmed as of yet.
Did O'Keefe retire? I went to High school (Quigley) with him, but haven't heard from him since he went to "work" for shortshanks.

In fact he did his job very well. A good aggressive officer and a good guy. He obviously has clout which shocked those of us that knew him from the watch because he didn't act like a pompous ass and was as humble as could be. I remember a good kid that I and many others would have worked with anytime in that fucked up dist. Take it for what it's worth.

Velez was a piece of work...don't blame Price for what happened to him. No one should come into a station and throw their weight around, particularly when they know that their locked up kid is an asshole. Price is a decent guy. I can tell you as a retired supervisor that he was one of the better bosses to work for.

I remember when Brian Murphy showed up in the 7th Dist. brand new. It was a fast dist. He listened to the guys with time on the job, was not a smart ass and did his job. In fact he did his job very well. A good aggressive officer and a good guy. He obviously has clout which shocked those of us that knew him from the watch because he didn't act like a pompous ass and was as humble as could be. I remember a good kid that I and many others would have worked with anytime in that fucked up dist. Take it for what it's worth.

I couldn't agree more. Brian Murphy is a great copper and person.
For those of you, like me, that don't have clout, get over it. Clout on the CPD will NEVER go away. Be thankful that Brian is one of the clouted ones because despite that he is an asset to the department and anyone that works for him.
Like Tony Soprano said, "He's old scoo."
I would work for him any time and I know I'm not alone in thinking that. If you ever have a chance to work for him you'll find out.

OT... I live 25 miles from my station...assuming they don't plow tomorrow, and my ford focus isn't up to the task of driving in a blizzard, what to do? Time due is absolutely out of the question (per hq)... awop? move to the burbs where they actually plow ALL of the streets so I can get to the expressway? LOL. Gotta love it "you have to come in tomorrow, but we aren't going to plow side streets" LOL

She tried to write me up once for using "too much time due"
True story.
I was going thru a divorce, had kids and needed some time off here and there.
Mind you this was over a 6 month period, and after the fact, (mening I had already taken the time.)
Excessive? I did not think so.
I don't think I took more than 6-8 full days and some of that was partial days.
Yet, when it was brought to her attention that her approval signature was on the all slips = she backed off!

The last I saw Joe Deloughery, he was a lieutenant in the deuce. He was a hell of a homicide detective, and you are correct, tough and could be mean when called for. I heard they are still married, but he is either very ill or in a long term care facility. Was a great copper.
Capt DeLoughery is clueless about how to be the police but she is great on paper and great as an administrator. She does take care of those who are good workers and make her look good.
I worked for Price very briefly, but I found him to be an approachable boss. If you ever needed something, he sure as hell took care of it. However, the KEY word is...you had to be a worker. We need more bleaders like him. Have you ever worked for Magnus (lord, let me rather get hit by a truck), she was and stillmis VINDICTIVE!!!
