Haymaker Burglar Sentenced

  • A lookout in the burglary connected to Chicago Police Sgt. Alan Haymaker’s death has been sentenced to 5 1/2 years in prison.

Larry Brown, 29, received the sentence Friday after he pleaded guilty to one count of burglary in Skokie, according to [...] a Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office spokesman.

Brown, of Markham, kept watch while his accomplices threw a car battery through the window of Consolidated Communications, 3176 N. Clark, and stole thousands of dollars worth of mobile phones last year, prosecutors said.

Another subject is awaiting trial for the actual burglary.

a line at the end of the story seemed to suggest that had he gone down on the air as going to that burglary call, this asshole would have been charged with felony murder. might not be a bad idea to go down on the air just in case something unfortunate happens. at least there will be an outside chance for a stiffer sentence.

Small consolation.

Everybody drive really careful out there these next few days. No salt means no speeding to jobs.

You're of no help at a call if you're injured or dead on the way there.

So what? He will spend 18 months, at best, in a cell. He will then be back out on the street. Big Fucking Deal. NEXT!

What about shortshanks via lil'Tommy calling off the salting of LSD.
They should both be held accountable for their actions & inactions as well.
We lost a good man and a brother to save a few lbs. of salt.

Frankly,I'm surprised this 'lookout' was able to be charged with anything connected to the burglary at all.
He must have had an awful public defender.
How often have lookouts been caught in the past, only to be cut loose after a discussion with 'Felony Review?'

It is good to know that Cook County will not tolerate an offender's actions leading to the death of a cop. It must have taken all the prosecutorial and judicial brain power to get a 5.5 year plea deal, of which shitbird will probably serve a year and a half. What a joke. F-this city let it burn!
