Spot the Patsy

  • After this week's terrible blizzard, the politics of snow in Chicago should be clear to anyone who can read the signs.

But you also have to know the creatures and their peculiar habitats. And you must be able to identify the tracks they leave — and those they don't leave — in all that snow.

  • So he wasn't standing next to Tom Byrne, his hand-picked Streets and Sanitation commissioner. Byrne spent his career as a cop, not as some snow fighter, and it's clear that he violated the cardinal rule of Chicago snow-fighting:

You never, ever, ever lose control of Lake Shore Drive, no matter how much it snows, no matter how hard the wind blows. Ever.

Orozco was out there too, committing ritual suicide on camera while Tommy Thumb stewed in the background. The mayor didn't even show up for the press conference, so we all know exactly who's walking the plank here.

The question remains, will they both rise from the political dead in a new administration?

Byrne was downright QUIET at that press conference. Must've got his ass chewed out beforehand.

LSD should have benn closed by 1500hrs. Just the threat of those waves over the breakwall should have guaranteed it.

This wasn't poor planning; it was ZERO planning.

LSD wasn't closed down to 1800-1900 hours and that was started at the urging of a 021 district sergeant. Byrne fucked up. My partner and I drove around 002 today and all the plows kept plowing the same main streets over and over.....AFTER the were already cleared and salted. I asked a couple drivers why they weren't plowing the residential areas as the main streets were clear. He said they were ordered not to plow any side streets. Unreal. I'm wondering how much of the not plowing the side streets is the S&S guys milking it for OT. Also overheard that the little midget ordered no plowing of police lots.

A side note. A big hearty FUCK YOU to the General Services driver in Area 1. Watch Commander has the police vehicles cleared out from the main parking area in the rear entrance of Area 1 so that the plow hooked up to the white pickup truck of General Services can plow it. General Service driver leaves at 1530 and says to the desk crew he'll be right back, never to return. Police vehicles parked in the middle of 51st street and as of 2300 the lot was still not plowed. It would be interesting if this guy returned to his truck to find it buried under all that snow removed from the police vehicle area. FUCKTARD!

Mayor was planning his getta way to the bahamas and left the other leprechaun in charge of making sure the city didnt self distruct. Big mistake. Meritorious promotions in one department , where its become common place to promote medioacrity to the highest ranks, proved detrimental. He looked out of his league. Dont recall other commissioners having this trouble, when they had the proper equipment and crews. Hard to forget his miserly ways the last couple years, when he decided to leave citizens on sidestreets stranded and now the lsd fiasco, and let us not forget that we once again are prisoners of the our side streets. Time has come for this political hack to go, but make sure when they give him his walking papers he has to climb out to the unplowed street, walk 3 blocks to the nearest busstop, then walk 3 more blocks on the unplowed street to get back home as penance.

Hope people were watching Wednesday noon OEMC news conference. When it was Byrne turn to answer questions, he looked like a dear in head lights.

One question asked was how many cars were still on LSD. Tommy gave us a long pregnant pause and heard on the mic from behind him, Orozco whispered "315". Tom then firmly answered "315".

Truly amazing!

It's to bad that the "enlightened" citizens of this city still think that these jagoffs running things are legit. The big money liberal democrats that throw money at these jags, well they know better, but the problems of being a middle class working family in this city does not effect them. Let them eat cake. I've lived and worked here my whole life and never thought I'd say that I can't wait to retire and leave this city and state.

Lawmakers propose costly new bills

ZERO Planning is Right. And done by a bunch of overpaid-incompetent Political Hacks. It's incredible how much the City pays so many incompetent High-Up Supervisors for such incompetence. Pay-to-Play, still alive in Crookago, and still No Feds doing ANYTHING about it. This place has got to be the incompetence Capitol of the U.S.A.

Something happened on LSD years ago, maybe 25, 30 years, LSD was like a parking lot. It should have been shut down, maybe people will know to stay off LSD in inclement weather etc because it will become a "parking lot."

You will notice, they had to take the temp lots away from Streets&San and station CPD officers there. Needless to say, things ran a lot better when Daley and the 50 thieves let the police do the job, rather than letting all the political hacks screw things up.
