Crime Still Down
After a hot weekend that saw five dead and eighteen wounded, you can add eleven more to the total just for Sunday night:
- At least 11 people, including a 13-year-old boy, were wounded in shootings across the city over a hot and steamy night, according to Chicago police reports. Those shootings beginning Sunday evening added to a weekend violence toll...
With all the powder in the air, it smells like the 4th of July again.

Thank-you CPD for having a noticeable presence outside the beautiful new outdoor music venue "Lakeside". We hipsters had fun save for a few pieces of steel that popped up here and there. I drove to the event every day, taking the Ryan to 87th and then due east. Never once felt scared. I know my friend who parked on the street (a woman) who REALLY was grateful for the men and women in blue.
Why even report that shit after all the violence. No one wants to hear about crime being down, which more than likely isn't true... the department does it everytime. Its bad timing and a bunch of BS.
I guess with all crime down across the board, there should be no problem in taking some time off to be with the family. Right boss?
It stands to reason that as these gangbanging a**holes continue killing each other off, furiously and unabated, that there will be fewer criminals available that will continue to commit crimes.
This is the main reason I could care less that they want to kill each other off!
Just sayin.

An over the fence conversation with my ULTRA-liberal, ACLU card carry'n, prius driving, socialist neighbor says that he doesnt believe the crime stats as published by the CPD.
WHY?? His Iphone was stolen after being a victim of a battery while waiting for a train.
My response?? I laughed
Is crime really down? Our census is down 200,000, so in realty crime per capita is up.

Crime keeps falling. The police deserve a raise. We are a shinning example of an agency that deserves its tax funding. Can't wait for contract time.

what happened to this country if you work you would get paid, there is no reason for a able body person that doesnt work to receive more money from the government than a worker.
When you walk the dog, or throw out the garbage, you had better be looking over your shoulder. Except for murder the reason the statistics are down is because folks have been victimized so many times they have just given uop calling the police.
Tell the victim's that crime is down.
if the size of Crookago's population is down, and crime is about the same, then isn't crime really up, as there is more crime per capita?
(OT) What is going on with the west end of 008? Many daytime garage burglaries? Lets hope "kup" beefs up the day guys on the west end,we have very few places to live that are somewhat decent! On another note the coppers on afternoons west end of 008 are everywhere,nice to see all the younger coppers taking care of the tax paying citizens for that "thanks Kup," and the Blue shirts God Bless all of you!!
