Illinois Subsidizes Job Losses
Motorola Mobility, the smartphone maker based in Libertyville, will cut 800 jobs worldwide — but a company spokeswoman said the downsizing has nothing to do with the company’s planned $12.5 billion takeover by search giant Google.
The cuts, which also involve consolidating office spaces and reducing “discretionary” spending, are “intended to improve operating efficiency and financial performance and are not related to Google’s proposed acquisition of Motorola Mobility,” spokeswoman Jennifer Weyrauch-Erickson said late Friday.
About 185 of the job cuts will occur at Motorola Mobility offices in downtown Chicago and in Libertyville, but none of the office closings will occur in Illinois, said a source close to the situation.
The company, which announced in May a deal to accept $100 million over 10 years to keep its headquarters and 3,500 jobs in Libertyville, is taking pre-tax costs of $27 million to pay severance costs and $4 million for the office closings. Motorola is expected to keep the tax incentives as long as it maintains at least 2,500 jobs in Illinois.

How many jobs did all this create in China?
As the jobs disappear so does the tax revenue that goes to fund CPD wages and pensions along with other city departments. Therefore expect major cuts come post NATOG8. The taxpayers are all taxed out.

The officials that we elect to make the laws are not even at their post voting on things -- I guess they must be busy running campaign fund raisers for the next election. That's where the corporate money is!

Motorola Mobility recently (right after Potatohead Quinn's tax deal) announced expansion and investments in call centers to be built in Indonesia. Almost China.
But Motorola, Huberman's blank check/open invoice, will get to keep the tax incentives granted by Quinn.
Again, where are the 50 million jobs Obama promised, the thousands Quinn promised?
All US factory & manufacturing jobs gone, educated or uneducated can't find jobs, except Democrat shovel ready, dig a hole-move a pile of dirt-refill the hole 'shovel ready' temporary labor.
And for the rest of us, whom worked for 20-40 years paying into pensions that weren't funded, stand to lose this benefit because of spend thrift idiots in the White House, Illinois Capitol and City Hall.

These politicians are so corrupt that I hate to think it but there has to be a revolution. The things the do and that we allow are nothing but criminal. They do not do the duty of looking out for the taxpayers, they only look out for themselves. This country is a disgrace and so is this city and state. Everyone needs to be voted out!

Hey - this is not the first time Motorola got some $$$$ from Illinois. When they were building a building in Harvard, Illinois several years ago, they got LOTS of money (was it around $40,000,000?) and tax incentives for opening up a new facility there and it only was open for 2 years. (They never gave back any of the money).
Many who work there as engineers in Schaumburg are not even US citizens anymore - let alone Illinois residents.

FYI, Daley told them they were going to take "affirmative action" chicago residents, and do his hiring bidding. He was bluntly told GFY. Although they were forced to eat Bill Daley to a spot on the board of directors, but so did AT&T (missed that one did ya?). Boeing wasn't even in Chicago when Daley offered that deal, in fact they were leaning to Dallas. He threw it at them to fill that building and hook up brother Bill with the "Stark Enterprises" of our day.
Maybe corruption has gone so far in this country that voting will not be enough. We have been told over the years that voting will get rid of bad corrupt politicians and bringing fresh faces will solve the problem. Fact is anyone who gets past a primary is already bought and sold by special interest. Not the average Joe who contributes $10 bucks to a campaign...the lobbyist who have hundreds of thousands to give to the "right" candidate. Look at Madigan and Cullerton prancing around the state capitol like they own the place. Fact is THEY DO own the place. These two arrogant fucks pissing in our faces and laughing all the way to the bank. We put street criminals away in prison for doing a lot less than they have to all of us. Giving Com Edison the right to fuck us out of our money for the next ten years without any oversight. Allowing the corrupt City of Chicago Political Gangsters to fuck all of us if we dare go over 20mph in almost 50% of the city. Why is Chicago the only town in Illinois to have this honor of fucking it's citizens with more cameras? Easy folks. Only in Chicago can they get away with it! Everybody who votes on these shit bills has been bought out by some special interest. Maybe going to the homes of these corrupt mother fuckers and breaking all their windows. Turn over their cars. March around their homes, their political offices. Go to any restaurant or public or private event and harrass the shit out of them. Time to let these Bastards know this shit is OVER!
