If you are a detective, go detect. You know, as if a crime occurred, "my unit is all shut down and I can't find where to go to work." Good luck.
Just hold your horses. There are logistical problems at OEMC with closing districts that noboby thought of. Reprogramming is going to take until March and thus no areas are closing until then. When March comes around then they won't be able to close the areas because of the G8. Thesumer will roll around. See a pattern here? We might have a new mayor and super but the same connected, low bid contractor and inept bureaucrat still run this city. Enjoy.

So how many openings are there going to be in the det areas left? I heard 22 years is the minimum needed to get to Area 3. Is that true? The det units are about to change big time. "I don't give a fuck" will be the new motto.
Areas 4 and 5 closing. Cold case disbanding and going to be absorbed into the 3 Areas. 1 Sgt and six dicks to be assigned to Cold case in the Areas.(We know how well that will work) Grant cases could be in jeopardy. Financial Crimes up in the air. No crime under $5000.00 will be investigated. Fugitive to expand?? Unknown when bids coming out.
Supposedly all the moves are to take place by Jan. 1. No way in fucking hell will that happen. Expect felony files to go missing, etc. What a clusterfuck this will be. We haven't even been provided with boxes to pack shit up!
What's going to happen to the summary bid spots, etc? I'm not one, but don't they have a grievance?

Its a shame that Dekalb has to face another tragedy in the death of the student, but Ch 5 just showed a photo of him dressed in all Red and representing with his left hand. STUPID is as stupid does!

State Representative Bill Mitchell of Decatur has introduced a bill urging Congress to make Cook County the 51st state.
The bill also calls for a state referendum on the matter.
Mitchell said Cook County residents hold different views on politics, society and economics than down state.

Here's what's gonna happen, on paper all you guys in 019 will be assigned to 023, until the department reconfigured it's manpower allotment for the new 019/023 and then they will keep about 100 PO's from 019 and about 10-15 Sgt.s from 019,,,, and the rest of you will bid to other districts most likely far south and some west. Their are 23 Sgt.s assigned to 023 and 29 assigned to 019' No Way will the dept. Keep 49 Sgt.s in one district.

WHile I'm not condoning any nasty responses you might have gotten, it's obvious you have internet access. Can't you just peruse the topics posted the past couple of weeks (you don't need to read all the responses to get the info you're looking for, just the topics)?
And it is hard for people to believe, with all the upheaval, someone on the job has zero clue about what's been happening around here. You could have been a little more open about 'being in Europe for a month', or being stationed in Afghanistan, or being marooned on a desert island. You might have gotten a warmer reception if you'd explained yourself.
