Impersonator

How about a picture? A description? Anything that might clue police and the public in about this scumbag? Because evidently, she's got a habit and we'd hate to access the actual arrest report online and be accused of misuse of Department property:
  • Despite the badge she's worn hanging from her neck, the loaded handgun she's carried and the Chicago police logo embroidered on her hat, Lucretia Kibble is not a Chicago cop — no matter how many times she has allegedly told people she is, Cook County prosecutors said today.

Kibble, 52, of the 990 block of South Crandon Avenue, was charged with impersonating a police officer while working as a security guard for a South Side restaurant, just like she was last year, authorities said. She also faces charges of illegally carrying a loaded 9-millimeter handgun.

Her bond was set at $50,000.

Only $50,000? Ridiculous.

Every time I hear "Impersonator", I'm immediately reminded of 95% of the Stupidvisors and Bossholes I've had the misfortune of working with over the years.

Just when you think you've seen it all, a Trahanas pulls a couple domestic boners, a bartender-made-gold star has a condo found to be loaded with cocaine and guns and a questionably "decorated" ghetto copper "hero" makes a public crack about police officers hanging out in Dunkin' Donuts.

The aforementioned examples barely scratch the surface of the list of Gold Star Follies and it's cast of characters. Keep this fresh in your mind when you ask yourself why the city went to shit after May 2012.

how is this ridiculous?
its says it in black and white
she was charged with impersonating & she was carrying a LOADED 9MM.

had it been a REAL POLICE OFFICER doing anything from taking a 25 cent bag of chips to a more severe crime ( not that taking a bag of chips is justifiable ) but, had it been a real police officer committing a crime the bond would probably have been set at 500 thousand dollars. or some exuberant amount that the poor police officer could not come up with (10%) because they have to MAKE AN EXAMPLE OF THEM. make an example? if this was true than why not set the bond alot higher you fucking jagoff. 11/20/2011 01:04:00 AM"

While I don't disagree with you about most of the comments you posted regarding the state of the Department, I do take issue with the "ghetto police" crack.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with you taking First Deputy Alfonsa Wysinger to task over comments he is alleged to have made. If they are true and the context in which they were uttered were inappropriate, then I would agree that he was out of line. No one, Boss or otherwise, should make demeaning comments about the Department they serve or their subordinates - in public. I would also suggest that if he was given his Lambert Tree/Carter Harrison Award for actions that may have been questionable or did not meet the standards or true spirit and intent of the award, then your comments make sense. But, I'm guessing you weren't there on the scene and I certainly was not. We can only go on what we were told by witnesses and perhaps valid written reports of what actually occurred. But keep one thing in mind - there have been other recipients of the Award in which neither the true or factual circumstances did not fully meet the criteria for the award. It is all a matter of who's writing the paper and who has the "hookup". That is the way this Department operates and has always operated. If he was awarded this honor do you think that it was really in his power to ensure that he himself was the recipient?

I would argue that whether or not he was bestowed the award, my belief that he is and always has been a "stand up" copper has not changed. I've had the honor of working with this guy on the street, in special units and otherwise, and I find him to be competent, brave, reserved and thoughtful. He has always been the REAL police, I've never seen him take crap off anyone, citizen or otherwise, and he does not allow anyone to disrespect the police or the Department. I've never observed him avoid dangerous duty or shirk his responsiblity to himself and to others - on the street or otherwise.

The ghetto copper remark was out-of-pocket and insulting. What are you trying to say? Is he a ghetto copper because he's Black or because he worked there? You should either make clear the distinction or use a better choice of words. You ain't the only one on this job just in case you haven't realized that we've got all kinds of folks working - of all colors, hues, religions, political beliefs . . . and most of them don't make a judgement as to what "group" you're with when they were backing you up, responding to you're 10-1 or keeping you from getting you ass beat.

I don't question what you've done on the job because I don't know you. If I were to go by you're "handle" I'd think you were a dog-ass. But you could be doing that with a sense of humor - something that I can appreciate. My point is - don't judge someone and post unsubstantiated remarks unless you know for sure. You may not like the guy - for whatever reason - but trying to demean a guys career while not knowing anything about him first hand isn't very honorable either.

A/1 Night before last - Offender "under the lights" [ERI] states clear as day that he won't answer questions and demands a lawyer now. Interview is properly stopped by investigators. ASA office transcriber leaves this fact ENTIRELY out of her version of the interview, so the ASA basicly tells the cops they are liars.
The good area Sgt puts it up on the big screen w/audio and there it is, big as life. ASA never apologizes [I'm not holding my breath] and CIs the case before fleeing into the night.

Here's one for the blog reading Taxpayers -

So I agree with whoever said "stop giving you shit away". Also I have seen numerous CPD guys working security gigs in my town dressed just like this POS. You must be 21 years old and have a valid Firearm Owners Identification Card to use the range. You may shoot if you are under 21, but it must be with a parent or legal guardian.

If you do not have an FOID card, you must shoot under the supervision of an instructor, or someone who has a valid FOID. Maxons does not provide staff or instructors for this purpose, but we can put you in contact with an instructor that you can hire for the hour. Advance notice is required.

To: Wysingers Cheerleader at 857 AM

FACT: Al DID say those things at the community mtg - I was there and heard it with my own 2 ears. No ALLEGEDLY involved.

FACT: You take offense to how the poster referred to Al as a 'Ghetto Cop'. I bet the majority of others reading this interpreted 'ghetto copper' as Al worked the ghetto the majority of his career. I sensed no racial undertones. You obviously did because your close to him/worked with him. I also spent a good amount of time around Al in my 25 yrs otj...as a matter of fact I was on scene for his Lambert Tree ....uuhhmmmm...exaggeration. A man worth his salt (and according to you, Al possesses ALOT of qualities to justify his existence & multiple merit promotions) would see how cheap and undeserved that award was. Again, I WAS on scene.

FACT: Al definitely IS a standup dude, and a damn good officer. that being said, theres absolutly NO way you can honestly say he didnt get moved up the food chain because of his color and connections. Sprinkle some awards on his dress blouse, whether earned or given and it helps justifying those bumps a bit easier. Fact of life here in the big city of Chicago. I know the game very well after being here a 1/4 century.

FACT: I do like Al, for ALMOST all the things mentioned, but Im smart enough to see thru the bullshit and I certainly know how to read between the lines. When push comes to shove, AL WILL tow the company line.....he has to or face the music of the dreaded 'back to civil service rank'.

You make a couple of good points, Det. Nick, but you let you emotions and past/present personal relationship get in the way of the truth. No doubt Jodys driver that made 'merit' Sgt will sing Wies' praises and carry his ball pouch until hes sure Jody cant reach out and make his life a bit miserable. Same flava here. At the end of the day, great copper and great past work history aside - Al is a Company Man. And unless "Det. Nick" has aspirations of his buddy Al making him merit something or another, I suggest letting go of his nuts.

If you were on the scene, as I suggested, then you know what really happened. That I will not debate with you.

This matter about being his cheerleader is not quite accurate for the reasons you yourself cited. The Department works in ways that forces individuals to choose between the upward mobility of their career or the guys they worked with when they were "dog-asses" as well. I'm guessing that most large departments are like that. But in Chicago it takes on a whole different dimension because of the nature of the internal and external politics that run this city. I'm fully aware that Al could not have gotten where he is if he had not played ball. I am also aware that he had one or more "sponsors" to help him to this point. However, that does not negate his potential, his abilities or his intellect. He is, as you pointed out, personable and the Real Police. Yet in his current position it seems that coppers forget that or weren't even aware of who he was since they don't really know him. Obviously, you do.

As I indicated earlier - if he was out of line in his comments, he does not get a pass from me. He is going to have to accept his mistake and make amends with the guys and gals he commands. That is the only way that he will earn the respect of his subordinates. Personally, I think he made the remark in error. But, as I said, I was not present.

As far as him looking out for me - well, from the time we worked together to the time I worked for him over the past 8 years, until I retired back in February after 30 years on this job - he still comes off as the same guy. I have never asked him for "anything" because I didn't want to put him in that "position". [Besides, I never asked anyone for anything during my time on this job. I never had a hookup and it's just as well. I got where I wanted to go without it.] He is just a friend, but if he were out of pocket as you attest, then he was wrong. Plain and simple. I don't know if his choice of words or his intent were the problem, but I doubt if he intended to be malicious or insulting to those of us on this job.

Since you work in 015 I'm sure you can gauge what is real and what is BS. You are in a position to call BS when you see it by virture of what you are exposed to everyday (inside or outside). So, I appreciate your honesty and directness in regard to my post. Your comments are balanced and make sense because you are willing to admit that the individual has paid dues, has done the job, although that job description is much different than when he started.

Stay safe and good luck to you.

You right, Office. Perhaps I shouldn't have made the assumption that the comment was racist in intent. I don't know the poster, as I pointed out, so I don't know exactly how he meant the statement.

I'm guessing my reaction to it has something to do with the sensitivity of the subject. Since you've been on this job for 25 years I'm certain you understand. I've often railed against those types of attitudes. Perhaps I responded in that fashion because, as you point out, Al was a friend.

Still, if you read some of the comments that were posted originally on SCC when he first made those unfortuante comments, many of the posts were not necessarily aimed at him just because of the remark. They took on a much darker tone. It's not surprising because this department has many people of different persuasions, opinions, political affiliations, etc. (which is as it should be). But if we/you are to remain a strong and well-respected organization we've go to emphasize the need to put differences aside and maintain unity within our ranks. It is the only way we can bring the Chicago Police Department back to the prominence it once knew.

I live I 022 and my wife is interested in going shooting with me. Looking for nearby good gun ranges. She doesn't have a foid card, but I've heard that as long as she's with me and has a valid govt i.d. she's fine. Some opinions and guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dont' know where 022 is, but there is a Range at 143 & Indiana, called Chuck's Gun Shop. Pfleger & JJJ sr. tried to shut down a few years ago. There's one in Glenwood. Glenwood/Dyer Road.

The range in Dolton (Chuck's) is not somewhere you want to take your wife or family. It attracts bustouts from the Altgeld Gardens, gangbangers, dope dealers and the like. You've essentially got to be prepared to rub elbows with some of the scumbags that love to buy guns to shoot up the city. Chuck's is running a legitimate business and is trying to make a living, but I question the "legality" and intent of the folks he is selling weapons to. When I first came on the job I used to frequent the place, as did many other coppers. But now days you can't really relax least you run into the same scumbags you locked up recently.

The Glenwood range is the site of a triple/multiple homicide about 12 years ago when three of the owners were gunned down in cold blood. The offenders, from Chicago, were eventually apprehended, charged and convicted. That was personal because I knew the victims, bought weapons from them and hung out at their range. A huge loss. Having said that, the new owners are very touchy and particularly careful about who comes in their shop (understandable of course). They demand you identify yourself as soon as you enter as a law enforcement officer (which is ok). They are not open on Mondays and have hours posted. The last time I was there they had ventalation issues on their small range, which should have been repaired by now. Check it out.

If you don't mind a long drive, but to a real nice range with variety or type and specialty, then take a trip to the Buffalo Shooting range in Ottawa. Check out their website on line. They have strict safety rules and if you violate them (and the ones pertaining to your vehicle) you WILL be evicted. But if you follow instructions you will enjoy yourself for a reasonable amount. It's just a long drive if coming from Chicago. Make a day of it, bring a picnic lunch (if weather permits) and have a good time.
