Bears Favored by 7

This is exactly the type of game the Bears have to win to make the playoffs. It's also the perfect type of game for Hanie to acclimate to the learning curve necessary to play at this level while keeping the seat warm for Cutler:
  • The Chicago Bears indicated they still have faith in their No. 2 quarterback despite a difficult performance last week. Their next opponent doesn't appear to feel the same way.

While Chicago sticks with Caleb Hanie, the Kansas City Chiefs could end up turning to former Bear Kyle Orton over struggling starter Tyler Palko in Sunday's game at Soldier Field.

The Bears remain in position for a wild-card berth, but a 25-20 loss in Oakland last Sunday halted a five-game winning streak and left them as one of three NFC teams with a 7-4 record. To build a lead over the other contenders, Chicago could use some better games from Hanie.
And a reasonably warm day for December on tap.

A few weeks ago, who would have predicted that this NFL battle would be led by Tyler Palko and Caleb Hanie?

Off Topic But Important:

The city is reworking the Chicago Ward Boundaries and doing it on a racial basis.

One detail ignored by most of the media is they are trying to draw CFD Lt./36th Ward Alderman Nick Sposato right out of his ward.

That is his reward for standing up to Rahm in matters regarding treatment of city employees.

Caleb Hanie must progress in this game. Beating a rather hapless opponent should help boost both his and his teamates confidence in him.
Defense and special teams need to control both aspects of the game.

Alright, ball-busters.

I concede that I was unaware that da Bears had signed Josh(ua) McCOWN as Hanie's backup ten days ago.

At least, I now know that we do have a backup QB.

NorthSide and I are in complete 100% agreement, the Bears WILL win today irregardless of who the backup Quarterback is.

It is painfully obvious that the Bears season is over. The defense holds a team to 10 points and still lose? Maybe McNabb isn't the answer, but he's a proven commodity and really could not have done any worse!

I no longer have ANY expectation that the Bears can make the playoffs.

I also fear that the sun may have set on any chance for Super Bowl immortality for the Urlachers' and Briggs' on this current roster. I guess as long as Aaron Rogers and the Pack are humming along as smoothly as they are, the Bears could be in a down cycle for awhile.

Anyone who is COMPLETELY thinking of jumping ship may find this to be of interest:

Packers Stock Sale to Begin December 6

Reasonably Warm Day??? Guess you weren't at the game freezing!!!! And other poster is right, new backup QB could do any worse...but wait the offense is so complicated to learn. Maybe the Martz offense should be simple. Like they are all doing brain surgery out there. You-run long left. You go out 5 yards and cut right. Ready-break....

Hey.....Better look it up pal. I posted below for your enjoyment.

ir·re·gard·less adv \ˌir-i-ˈgärd-ləs\

Definition of IRREGARDLESS

nonstandard
: regardless
Usage Discussion of IRREGARDLESS

Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

Sunday was the last time Forte will wear a Bear's uniform, at least for the next few years. After being treated like the red-headed step-child, he will take plenty of time to heal, like the remainder of the season, and then he will look for a team who will want and appreciate him. A Bears 2011-12 record of 7-9 is around the corner! Playoffs? You think the Bears will be in the playoffs?Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!

As bad as the Bears are, they'll probably still make the playoffs, as long as all the other bad teams they're competing with keep losing.

That jolt you'll feel at the end of the season? That will be the Bears backing into the playoffs over the carcass of Detroit's playoff hopes.
