What's That Smell?
A prison inmate who escaped from a moving van near Lockport while in transit from a court appearance was captured six hours later south of Joliet after police dogs caught his scent in a yard storing portable toilets and a helicopter crew using infrared technology located him in one of the toilets, authorities said.
Cesar Sanchez, 37, who state records show is serving a 7-year sentence for burglary, escaped about 2:15 p.m. near 159th Street and Farrell Road, a commercial strip not far from Lockport Township High School’s East Campus.
"caught his scent"? We'll bet that afterwards, those poor police dogs are going to be bleaching their nasal cavities for a month.
In the meantime, "Port-o-let" Sanchez will be getting a few extra years tagged onto this previous sentence.

Funny how he naturally sought cover in the one place he so richly deserves to be, the bottom of a toilet.
A big thank you to Harry Hohm for getting helicopter back to cpd .
Where else would you look for a piece of shit?
Sanchez will be the "butt" of a lot of jokes when he gets back to the joint.
Should have had the SWAT team surround the porta potty for about 24 hrs and let him stew in there
Is it safe to say the "shit hit the fan" for this guy?
The Chicago Police chopper crew did a phenomenal job. I saw the cockpit recording of the whole incident.
The Police chopper can only detect heat. When they scanned the area of the port-o-jhons there was only a slight trace of residual heat. It was the skilled crew that were able to pick that up and parlay that into the hiding spot of the offender.
There were over a hundred port-o-jhons in that yard. No way would the ground units have searched each one. Good job to all Officers involved
Who had to pull him out and search him?

Lets not forget the CCSPD guy assigned to the helicopter, he's the spotter.

A guy can't even take a shit without being bothered anymore!
Question # 1: How did this guy escape, Question # 2: How did this guy escape, and Question # 3: how did this guy escape.
He was in the one with the "Occupied" sign.
