Officer Targeted?
- Four people were in police custody Friday in connection with last week’s fatal shooting of Chicago police officer Clifton Lewis, and one detainee has been charged in an unrelated crime, sources tell CBS 2.
About two weeks before the shooting, sources say another police officer, who also worked at M & M Quick Foods, 1201 N. Austin Blvd., had an altercation with members of a gang while he was on duty as an officer.
The gang members knew the officer also worked security at the store. On the day Lewis was shot, he had switched shifts with that officer.
Sources say it appears to be a case of mistaken identity, with the suspects thinking Lewis was the man they were trying to target.
This has bad news written all over it.

If that's true no citizen is going to step forward no matter what the reward is. They have no protection.

Several reasons, the truth that they (the chicago/cook county demoleftist crooks) are losing control of the city. Secondly that that truth will possibly inflame enough people to demand changes and answers, which will upset their major voting block. It IS all about the votes.

Chicago has a short memory many forget that our Congressman Bobby Rush was the "Minister of Defense" for the Chicago chapter. Who can elect and keep re-electing a criminal only a criminal community who are proud to be criminals.

Don't believe the rumors. I have seen the video multiple times. The offender started shooting in response to Officer Lewis' brave actions. This was simply a robbery gone bad. These guys were responsible for other robberies in the area. The difference this time was that they encountered someone with a gun.
Nothing will bring Clif back but hopefully justice will be served and his family and the other officer can find peace.

Surely your support is much appreciated by those you admire, but are you willing to run the risk of taking an ass-whipping or run the risk of your significant-other and/or children taking an ass-whipping, or worse treatment, delivered by a well-intentioned, or not so well-intentioned, law enforcement official who has a reason to believe you have participated in criminal behavior, when you were merely at the wrong place, at the wrong time, while having done nothing wrong?
And do not reply, we do not do anything wrong so it wouldn't happen to us. Heed these words. When shit goes wrong, it goes wrong very fast and, without restraints or having created an open season, as you call it, casualties of the innocent will inevitably occur.
OTOH, society has gone way berserk in the response to a simple kick in the ass from a law enforcement official. Law enforcement officials should not be required to treat miscreants as a fine piece of glassware, rather, they should be allowed to treat them firmly with restraint and without beating and/or permanently maiming them.
