CFD OT?

I was talking to a fireman friend of mine yesterday and this mess in May came up. did u know that CFD is paying it's members to go to May fest training OVER TIME. WTF we have to go training on straight time and CFD is getting 3 days of OT.
Can anyone confirm?

Ever sence we marched on city all the y treat us like dogs. We should start marhing from now until the mayor is out.....
While in refresher training for field force extraction (cut class) last month at CFDs building on 39th & Honore a few of their guys were bragging about it. They said it because they have to do it on their day off...
I am a member of the CFD and it looks like only about 100-150 will be getting specialized training for 3 consecutive days. Seeing as though 2 of the days will be their off days, it will be those 2 that they get payed O.T. for.
Also it I heard it was training that will deal with helping the CPD deal with protesters that might lock themselves together with someone else to form a human chain.
Rumor on CFD is our Special Ops guys are getting 8 hours OT training on some type of ”anti-arrest” device used by protesters. Not sure why this cant be done on regular shift time. Once again special treatment and extra pay for the clouted ones.
Ridiculous. They certainly won't be in the front lines get flaming bags of feces hurled at them.

If the CFD is going on their days off Then theyre entitled to overtime
If the CPD goes on its day ON then theyre not entitled to overtime You are not guaranteed the right to work overtime
What you are guaranteed is that if its more than 8.5 hrs a day or 40 hrs a week THEN its overtime
We go during our tour of duty why would they pay ot? Most guys prefer it that way. I could only imagine the complaints if we had to go on our days off.
I heard the city is going to field train public school teachers, since they won't work longer days in schools, they will be deputized and utilized to enforce laws within Chicago.
Its kind of like killing two birds with one stone, because when the teachers go back to school they can deal with the juvie criminals in a better manner.

Listen hairgel, when things get bad on the street, you will be glad for any type of help. Everyone has a purpose on CFD are trained to do a specific task, a cut team. I would not have a problem working with CPD during a major riot. In fact, anyone that is helping us is welcome. You have no idea how big the demonstration will become.
Fire is probably being trained as cut-teams for the sleeping dragon.

Probably since the beginning of this Department and until the end of time, the bitching is incredible. Don't get me wrong, there has been plenty of times to bitch, very well deserved, and with the way of the world even more to come.

Who cares if a few of them get some OT for training for this shit show coming in May?? They work a 24 hour shift with the training and then follow up with 2 more days, that sucks. They don't have court and late arrests either so if your bitching about overtime, do some work if you want more and stop crying.

I'm not crying, Break up the training over a month.
Why are they training FD for cutting? That will be a PD function. No way will FD go into a scene like that involving protestors.
wtf i am cpd 29 plus years KMA. CFD has a better response time. i will call for them.
I'm inclined to pay the CPD straight time until they learn to spell.

Hey pal...pay attention...the problem started with 42 shorts First Election. Rahm is just a continuation of the old mess.
The only CFD getting overtime are the instructors. They will be bringing down fire companies to the training academy 7 days a week. The firemen are on 24 hour platoon duty and the instructors work a 40 hour week. The firemen that are sent for training on a Saturday or Sunday will already be working, they will take the whole company out of service and send them down with the apparatus, just like what happens for any other training.
