....another police shooting in 006 district tonight. Offender pointed gun at cop(s). Cop(s) shoot at center mass. Bad guy enroute to hospital. Rumour has it that the South Area firearm team did the shooting when responding to the man with a gun call.
One of the gun teams shot another bad guy in the 006th this evening.
I GUARANTEE that the area beaches will NOT have to be closed this weekend for 'heat-related' reasons.
I also guarantee that there will be an increase in the amount of inner city minorities donning winter garments this weekend.
However, I CAN'T guarantee any correlation between the two aforementioned anomalies..

I saw a tape of that conference. The superintendent never said that weather has no effect on crime. He did say that he will not use weather as an excuse for not doing his job when there is an increase in crime.

2 children killed in South Side crash

9:18 p.m. CDT, March 24, 2012
A white SUV fleeing from a fender-bender crashed into another car on the South Side tonight, killing two children and injuring as many as four other people.
The crash at 6:37 p.m. killed a 6-year-old and a 19-month-old, and left a trail of debris nearly a block long on Western Avenue between 45th Place and 45th Street.
The SUV was involved in a minor accident with another vehicle at about 43rd Street and sped southbound about two blocks before crashing into a northbound green sedan near 45th Street, said Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.

Oh wait again..it's 6:37PM on a Saturday and the speed trap cameras would likely of been turned off as protecting the children is only during certain hours on weekdays.
HOWEVER if we did have the speed trap cameras installed and all the other questions aside the city could of mailed out a $150 dollar speeding ticket to the cars owner with a condolences note maybe eh. That will bring the criminals to justice
Too bad all the officers down south there are locked in and tied down in the shooting zones putting out fires and collecting shell casings.
This should be a homicide.

He used to work with Commander Dave back in the day on the gang team in 014. That's how hr ended up there and got another Lt (JR) bounced from 008 to 007. In short order OZ will be trying to undermine the tact Lt to steal his spot too
