Dumb Dumb Dumb

  • A Chicago man robbed a Radio Shack of $17,000 in merchandise, but police tracked him down quickly thanks to the global positioning equipment he stole, prosecutors said.

Raymond Jefferson, 20, is charged with tying up people who were at the South Side electronics store, stealing gear from the shop and fleeing Friday night before police captured him about two hours later. On Sunday, Cook County Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil ordered him held on $350,000 bond on charges of armed robbery and aggravated kidnapping.

[...] Among the stolen items, however, was global positioning gear that led officers to Jefferson, Caceres said, and he was arrested in the 3700 block of West Lawrence Avenue in the Albany Park neighborhood.
Priceless.

Got a question for the POs out there. Does anyone know how many CRs J-Fled racked up while at CPD and what they were for? I'm trying to get on with a department out of state and my CR history has become an issue. If I can show that I have about the same amount as a former Superintendent it would be very helpful. SCC? Northside? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Stay safe.

Stop the lies, crime is spreading like wildfire in Chicago, Compstat is pure horse shit and there is a severe manpower crisis on the CPD.

How do all you taxpayers in 016,017,008 and 018 like the explosion of crime and murder?

I agree, that was some excellent work by the Officers in 022, but please, if you're an ODPO who lives in 022, please carry at all times. These savages come from their shithole neighborhoods looking for easy prey and 95th st, 103rd st and 111th st are their easy access/escape routes. Maybe the message will get thru after a couple get shot sticking up the wrong person.
Be safe!!!

THE REST OF THE STORY>>>

He was up in 017 attempting to sell the phones at a store run by middle easterners suspected of selling stolen goods.

What this article leaves out is that a Sgt. in 017 observed what was going on and brought in the troops before he was tracked by GPS. The good police work done is being overshadowed by the stupidity of the criminals.

Contrary to popular belief, other than the famed CR brought by Northside, J-Fled may have had one or two others. Your problem is going to be what the allegation was classified as and what the outcome was. 10 Not Sustained money/brutality beefs looks far worse than 20 Unfounded/Exonerated.

You have to remember that most Departments do not answer EVERY 911 call and they also don't open a CR against an officer for every complaint. You might look like a real jackass to an outside agency if you have 25 complaints under your belt even if you are "innocent".

Good luck.

The officers in 022 did a great job first trying to catch the offenders and, when they were denied that, broadcasting info regarding location of the bad guys to Citywide. Officers and Sergeants in 017 found and apprehended the offenders and located the proceeds. Dicks followed up and got charges approved. Overall great job from all the units involved.

I like the ag kidnap. Life is not a rap video. That charge should come with every roll of duct tape, one count for each victim.

I wonder what was the GPS that got him -- "counter samples" of smart phones that were out of the box, activated, charged up and ready to go for demonstration purposes, I would guess.

Got them home and started messing...

As stated in earlier posts, a good job by 022 getting the info where it could be used and 017 for jumping on it with both feet!

You make your choice when you come on here. I don't have 50 complaints in 26 years. More like 10 or less and never a sustained.

If you have generated 50 CR's in much less than 26 years perhaps you have no business looking at a professional police department, although I don't know where you might find such an entity.

I know several CPD officers who went to DEA, Secret Service and FBI and all has less than 5 CR's during their time here and could explain them. Obvious revenge complaints. Same with me.

What were you doing to generate 50 CR's?
