Outlaw Knives
A 14-year-old boy was critically wounded Friday night in a stabbing in an alley in the city's Portage Park neighborhood, police said.
The stabbing happened about 9:26 p.m. in an alley on the 4200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue on the Northwest Side...
Preliminary reports said the boy was arguing with a man between the ages of 18 and 20 when the man stabbed the youth in his back. The boy was taken in critical condition to Childen's Memorial Hospital...
The stabbing was possibly gang-related, police said.
Was this by that club shooting from a couple months ago? Wouldn't this be a perfect opportunity for Rahm's "problem liquor establishment" task force to yank a license?

No, this should be a prime opportunity to outlaw knives. They're just as bad as guns. They could hurt politicians when they steal your freedoms.
This 14yr old little angle was a victim of a aggravated assaut, four weeks ago he was shot at by portage park, officers on view the shooting and took offender's in custody and recovered the gun. The little angle and mother refused to cooperate with the police. The little angle is a very proud (self admitted) member of a street gang.
vic is a latin brother and offenders are latin kings--- I wouldn't lose any sleep over this one--- if we outlawed marijuana and hennesy this would never have happened....
Am I crazy or does it seem like getting stabbed or slashed by a knife would be much worse and more painful than being shot or grazed by a bullet???
Of course, I'd prefer that neither one happened, but I'm just sayin.
It's getting bad on the northwest side lots of crap walking around. stay safe.
Near Capitol Club isn't it?
If "certain" people couldnt get guns, they would use knives,if they couldnt get knives they would bash each others heads in with rocks and clubs.
Sad to learn that this 14 year old is already a gang member. There are a lot more crap people around the northwest side: fools with their beast on a leash pit bulls, baggy pants hanging off their asses, and the clown cars you can hear a mile off.
The Capitol Club, the notorious bar in the hood, is a block away (4300 North).
I hate these shit gang bangers ruining what was a nice safe neighborhood. Now you can't feel safe walking around in the evening hours. Rotten bastards.
Sanctuary City.
The legacy of Richard M. Daley will continue under the Rahm Emanuel Administration.
Co-chaired by States Atty. Alvarez and Cook Co. Sheriff Dart. Keeping criminals OUT of JAIL is their mission.
To all the tax paying homeowners up NW, you wanted Machine Democrats.... you got them.
When seconds count, Police are miles away.
In Chicago, I believe, without looking it up, all knives longer than 2.5 inches for those persons under a certain age (teenagers and under) and 3 inches for everyone else are already banned.
They will have to pry my Jameson's
from my cold , dead hands !!
I grew up at Montrose /Milwaukee and I can't believe it has become fertile ground for hispanic gangs. Those big houses over there hold a lot of people when they are converted to illegal multi-home use. That's a shame.
Portage Park was always the magnet for the burnouts and under age drinking (guilty) but we never had gangs and shootings. Times change.
yes, it is down the street from capitol which is a gang loaded shit hole anyway. i came home down milwaukee to see the aftermath. there was a couple boss' out there so i figured it was something of the sort. us in the area are sick of the BS. my parents live over in 017 (cicero & addison area) and the gangs have been tagging away on garages and building on the side streets. every night its done. i say pick up all these "thugs" "bad mofos" and ship there ass off to an island and let em kill themselves.
When most Chicagoans think of the Northwest Side they think it's a good stable and safe neighborhoods. WRONG! There is a lot of criminal activity, gangs and narcotics in the Northwest Side/16th district. The bad areas are now from Belmont to Montrose and Cicero to Austin. And this bad area is growing. A lot of gangs from the 25th districts, 14th and 15th have set up shop in the 16th district.
The criminals are NOT STUPID. They know that the 16th district doesn't have enough police officers (in 2000 we had about 390 officers and now we have a little less than 200!). And our tactical teams are always in other districts. So what does that leave us in terms of officers patrolling the district? NOT MUCH. Plus you add in the fact that the 16th district is the largest districts in terms of size and has the least amount of officers in the whole department.
This all adds up for A RECIPE FOR DISASTER. If you are a citizen of the Northwest Side or a business owner then contact your alderman and hold a protest march or two and do something. Or else this once great pristine neighborhood will decline and the decent residents who reside there will flee.

Yeah, they are pushing cognac REAL hard to the "Hispanic comunity;" I've seen lots of billboards, and the city is not the least bit squeamish about advertising hard liquor on its Eurostyle glass bus shelters.
It's too weird.

Angel?
Do I see Bows and Arrows on the horizon? Guns don't kill people...People kill people.
Time to diversify your portfolio and invest in Ginzu Knives. I see an uptick coming in sales.
Bernie Madoff.
Portage park and the surrounding area is turning to shit. Milwaukee/ Cicero is getting bad too.
Finally. Rumbles make a comeback. What's old is new.
Outlaw knives... I hear the City of Boston is already spearheading that initiative:
www.kniferights.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=164&Itemid=1
Keep in mind, Knife Rights says "Boston code already restricts sales of knives over two-inches long to minors and these, like all retailers, already must be licensed to do business in the city."
We're not going to be safe until every knife is taken off the streets. Remember, its for the kids...
Arn't combat knives already illegal in Chicago? Or much less anything with a blade length more than 2 inches.
Outlawing weapons of any sort is not going to make things any safer. To get straight to the point; Fists and feet are weapons as well and outlawing something dosn't mean people will not still be able to purchase or make it. Obviously the problem is with these gangs and you can't stop them. The only logical thing to do is arm yourself with power of mind, body, and training as well as any appropriate defense tool. Improvised weapons will always be around, even monkeys and apes use sticks and stones.
