- Police have issued alert after a man walking his dog was attacked and his throat slashed in the Lakeview neighborhood on the North Side.
The man told police he was attacked around 11 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of West Byron, according to a community alert issued by police.
The attacker walked past the victim, grabbed him from behind and cut him on the throat with a knife, the alert said. The man was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. The suspect fled on foot.
The attacker was described as black, about 30, 6-foot-1, dark complexion with an afro hairstyle and a white T-shirt with black stripes and black shorts, the alert said.
Whoa! A description? And a sketch of the offender at the link? Who let all this through at the Tribune? Racism!!!

From what I heard. The victim was walking his dog. This man was walking towards him and passed him, then turned around and grabbed him from behind and slit his throat. After he slit his throat he took about a dozen steps back and just stared at him.

Got a sad smile out of the fact this guy is so irate at the police for taking four days to 'put out an alert' and so incensed at the alderman for not being immediately available to him for a meeting.
He has no idea how frequently unprovoked attacks occur. He has no clue that this doesn't warrant an alert. He has no idea how many times a day, each week of every month, we see this.

If you think 4 days for this one is bad, what about the attempted child abduction near Harlem and Touhy the other afternoon earlier this week? I heard it on WBBM on my way into work, but no description of the offender was given. I got to work and called the desk at 016, and the guy that answered HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. He said he hadn't heard of such an incident, and asked me if I was sure it was in Chicago. He even put me on hold and asked someone else, who also hadn't heard of anything. I checked on wbbm780.com right after and sure enough - there it was.
Obviously there's a breakdown here in communication. I was under the impression that this information was disseminated widely within the district, if not to the neighborhood itself. For chrissake, tell us what we're supposed to look out for!

The vict did seem clueless as to the number of race-based anti-white violent crime in the Lake View area - especially as the vast majority of these crimes go unreported by mainstream media.
That said, its good that this offense is being rptd. Ill forgive his justifiable anger if he loudly leads the call for more police and greater law enforcement of race-based Hate Crimes and the ignorant thug predators who prey on white people.

WTF? C'mon, are you effing kidding me? And it just now gets reported and it happened on Sunday? Why aren't we told about these things immediately? Every morning we have to listen to the sad sack stories of Chanequa, Shaquoia, Moniqua, Tyronia and all the other people on the south and west sides who were "roughed" up the night before, but because it's Lakeview - it's quieted down? Can we carry knives? I know about the bear spray but I still like my battery operated nail gun. What a bunch of effing animals we have lurking around this city!

Where can one find out about these attacks and their frequency. It doesn't show up on everyblock.com. There is so much racism in this city, but it's black and Latinos staring down white folks, acting threatening or stupid, and then telling us we have a problem because WE REACT TO WHAT WE SEE WITH OUR OWN EYES. Obviously we need knife control NOW! I know all these knife nuts will say things like "when knives are outlawed only outlaws will have knives." What can you do with an assault knife like that? No good in the kitchen. Meant only to slice throats dammit. We need sensible knife control laws.
