Standing Ovation

E-mail from a cop downtown:
  • SCC,

A couple of Apple-picking females downtown tonight around Rush and Chicago. Coppers gave chase into an underground parking garage and apprehended both. When they emerged from the garage with the pilgrims, the people at Rosebud and up & down Rush street gave them a standing ovation. It was truly nice to see.

Nicely done Officers.

Nice work fellas. Hopefully you made a curtain call and waived your crown cap in one hand as you loaded the savage pilgrims into the wagon.

OK, "apple picking" took me a few seconds, then I started laughing. Nice term.

I go the extra foot when I can to at least give POs a wave, nod or hello so they know that most of us really are on their side. Absent some extraordinary occurrence, its the best most of us can do. I like to think it helps a bit.

Normally, the public would criticize the police for their actions making remarks i.e. "racist, picking on black children etc."
However, the situation is so out-of-control, even some of the liberal public has had enough.
I agree and join the sentiment of 'nice work' by the police involved.
I likewise applaud back those (few) people who recognized that the police are trying their best despite the lack of manpower and overall support.
Stay safe my brothers and sisters.

Yes, there IS that very nasty type -- a real ugly mental quirk. The thieves "are just ordinary people trying to survive against the oppressors as long as everything stays over there where we can snicker at it."

...until it happens to them and oh, the demands for instant service. Always a bad sign when they're still wearing their work ID around their neck at 11 PM -- that type.

I know most people are not like that, though. I'm sure this was well meant. People are getting more and more fed up with the animals.

Once these fine young misguided youths from the Englewoods community realize that the PO-PO are tired of their crap and will get locked up they may then re-locate. For many years misconduct was not allowed on Boul Mich, but when we gave up this street to the Savages, then they knew it was feeding time, my question is with all the clouted up people who live there and the big shots who own the Tavern on the Green,Jimmy DeLeo, Gibsons', owned by Steve Lombardo. RoseBud run by Alex Dana can't they flex thier muscles.? I know Rahm is difficult to get next to, but he is the Mayor and he can be reached. See I think Rahm is so so afraid of the B;lack Community, Revs and Jesse that he doesn't want to offend them and his old boss Obama, so in the meantime Commander Angarone is getting an ulcer trying to play nice- nice with the dudes and dudettes. To all Chicago Police Officers and Police everywhere, I want to thank you for your dedication and hard work in spite of poor leadership. The pandering and misinformation (propaganda) by elected officials has reached unprecedented levels and demonizes the very people who perform one of the highest public services. The rest of society would not be able to function normally without you- our Police Officers.

This city our country as well as civilization would revert back to the "law of the jungle." The weak would be preyed upon by the thugs of the world, if you, the (strong) did not stand between them and us. May God Bless you and your loved ones and keep you safe. A senior Pilgrim.

FINALLY A SHERIFF WITH SOME BALLS!!

"The banks were ordered to cease and desist..and they have ceased NOTHING..."

Carroll County NH High Sheriff Chris Conley Press Conference 7:2:12 youtube

How long is it gonna take for the Obama crew with his Mexico gun running Department of Justice to get this Sheriff that threatens the banks to back off?

Tell me about your "Broken Windows" bullshit.

When we start seeing banker CEO's doing the perp walk I may start believing it. No more of this piddly ass fine and we'll forget anything ever happened only for them to turn around with a slightly different scam with the same thefts.

One damn Sheriff out of an entire nation. Is everyone else on the campaign contribution take and so they don't stand up for what is right, fair, and legal. Sure looks like it.

We have the best supreme court money can buy don't we?

Let's watch in how they twist the words that you thought guaranteed the pensions and the social contracts.

It's a decrease in the increase, it's not a mob -- it's multiple offenders. Your residency is determined not by where you are living but where you intend to go back to one day as long a bag of clothes is in the basement.

It's not a fine, a fee. No. The supreme court says it's a tax. But it's not a tax -- then it's called a penalty. Corporations are people with free speech rights and can donate as much money as they like to their political party. Even if the corporations is majorly owned by foreign interest right? So China can be making all the calls on the laws here shortly because they own the corporations and can buy the politicians.

Sovereignty?? What's that?

We wish the Sheriff luck. But we have no hope. Hope is gone daddy.

9-1-1 response times are down (when you compared them to the time that we had a major snowstorm and it created a statistical outlier for the measurement) Oh but details. Pay no attention to the details.

JUST KEEP SHOPPING -- KEEP SHOPPING EVERYONE.

85 year old man car jacked in Evanston by three teenagers. Car later shows up on the south side.

I know it's Evanston but I just would like to take this opportunity to thank hizz honor and the 50 alder-a-holes for not allowing the citizens of this city the right to conceal carry to protect themselves like in every other state in the union.

The blood is on each of your hands.

Who raised you people? How do you sleep at night?

You all want to sit high and mighty with your personal security guards and apparatus while criticizing the values of the people in the hood and we ask where are your values? Where?

These politicians should be brought up on charges. It should be a crime to make the taxpayers pay for protection that the government officials are either unwilling or unable to provide.

Yeah. We know. You want the taxpayers dependent on you as you all run your little terrorist campaign of fear on us all -- building your political power bases for personal gains.

Fear is a powerful motivator isn't it. It can be used in a crisis. Hitler done it so well with his fire decree. Oh-no, don't let it go to waste I'm sure we can get more taxes, fines, and fees from them if we play our cards right.

This entire city is about to blow from what I can see. 100,000 gang members to 10,000 cops. You do the math.

What are you going to do?

Putting just 10,000 of them in jail will bankrupt this town. Nice culture you got going here. Jail, $143 a day right? $1.43 million per day per 10,000? Have at it Hoss. You painted yourself into a corner with your blind greed.

My Grandfather and Father were both officers. Both worked hard to ensure that the public was safe and that their family had a roof over our heads, three squares and a chance at a better life.

Their job was often a thankless one. I heard many a story of how they were abused, mistreated, and that their lives were placed into deadly situations.

I owe my life to both men. College, graduate school, my values and work ethic are a direct result of their hard work and dedication.

The time is upon us that people realize that without the CPD, life as we know it would be much different.

Thank you all for the work you do. IMHO, it can not be said enough. I am in awe of your work, dedication and bravery.

The Sheepdog’s Prayer

The Knights of Olde were Men of Honor
Who used their Might For Right!
Today they’re known as Sheepdogs,
Those who carry on the fight.

I am a tired old Sheepdog,
The guardian of my flock.
I keep the predators at bay
And stand watch around the clock.

Please stop the Sheep from pulling my teeth.
I’ll need them for the fight,
When the hungry Wolves come calling
Some dark and deadly night.

I pray I'll never need my gun,
But someday if I do,
May my cause be just!
My draw be quick!
And my aim be ever true!

Heaven holds a special place
For those who do the deed,
Defenders of the innocent
In their hour of need.

May the Sheep someday be grateful.
There’s a debt they can not pay
To the Sheepdogs who lay it on the line
Each and every day.

I am proud to be a Sheepdog.
I've done my very best.
I'll stand my watch until my Maker
Calls me home to rest.

But when I meet St. Peter
There's just one request I’ll make,
“Please let me spend Eternity
Standing guard at Heaven's Gate”.

Lord, help us bring this ''Age of Sheep''
To a rapid end.
Then fill this land with Sheepdogs,
Men of Honor, once again.

This prayer is dedicated
To those who bravely face,
The dangers all around us,
To make our world a safer place.

To the soldiers, cops and warriors-
Sheepdogs through and through.
Thank you for your service
And your sacrifices too.
Amen

OMG, that is sooo kind of you! A lot of people don't realize that we take home a lot of what we do and see everyday, and we work under seriously stressful conditions. And I can tell you, most coppers are incredibly generous to those in need. I was in a west side district today and there were 3 little kids sitting there waiting for whatever. I was at the cash station and I was going to give them $5 on my way out and tell them to get themselves a treat....but the cash machine spit out $20's, and I had to go on another job......for all the bad press we get about a few bad apples, you will never, ever, find a bigger-hearted, more compassionate group of people...and not because we're libtards who've 'never been there, done that'. We do it because we HAVE been there, and we HAVE done that....I've actually pulled over on the way home from work on a few occasions and just had to sit for a minute.

So thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness. We appreciate that more than hollow rah-rah speeches from bosses that are full of shit.

Thank you. You are a 'class act' in police parlance.
