Quite a few micro-managers moved out of spots where they were obviously in over their heads, demonstrating why political animals who have spend their entire careers sheltered at HQ should never be given free rein in District Law Enforcement.

Some of the districts are in holding patterns for their unqualified commanders to be reassigned.
The only problem with moving these Political Hacks back to Administration is they come up with some really stupid General Orders and ideas, just because they were a Commander somewhere!
A better idea is to submit a PAR form and say Good-Bye!

Worked with Glen Evans in Public Housing. Shitheads knew him, feared him and respected him. Glen is an old school street copper. Straight shooter and non-asskisser. We always knew he'd make a great boss, because he knows his shit back and forth. We never thought he'd advance past Sgt because he's such "Cop's Cop".To get an idea of the kind of copper we're talking about,google a pic of the Nato protests. Glen was the black Lt leading the charge into shithead protesters, without a helmet. Reverends in 003, be advised: If ya don't wanna hear it straight, ya might wanna advoid this Commander.Sadly, if the reverends have as much pull as we know they do, Glen probably won't be around long. I'm am exceptionally proud of Evans. He's one if the few bosses on this job that didn't have some other motive other than working hard all of the time. He has worked many nights without receiving extra compensation. He jumps in with his troops, not to monitor them, but to assist them. Evans led by example all of the time and not for recognition. Not only is Evans the real police, he he quite intelligent and articulate. Excellent selection to the Sup and other exempt rank members for recognizing a hard working police with with no alternative motive and literally no politically ties.
Lt. De Vries is a great house for the 018tg district. Not only is he smart, he is likeable, approachable, and he's not afraid to get down and dirty. I'm glad I've had the opportunity to work in 006th district with him.
It's amazing no one ever gets demoted. They just get laterally transfered into positions that are more suitable and easier for them. McCarthy is afraid of offending the reverends and clout of these imbeciles.

I think this is a first for CPD, promoting two new commanders that have never had merit promotions till now. Both of them made it up the chain on tests. Both 003 & 018 are getting two new Commanders that no how to be the police and are not afraid to get hands on with the bangers. I applaud this change way to go Supt!

You're partially right. For SOME district commanders it might be not be a dump. I mean ... no more 17 hour days, no more weekends, no more community and business meetings, no more insanity from downtown. For some others though, going from 300-400 people under you to 20-30 people, NONE of whom you can move because they didn't get to Intelligence by their good looks ... may feel like a dump.

I am not one of dd's boys I have only known him for a short time. After getting dumped to 6 from a " hairgel 2 wonder unit" lt dd and cpt rw treated us great! I have personally seen lt dd making dope and gun arrest and fight with offenders through all of his promotions he never stopped being the police. Oh and since when is 18 years on not enough time to be the real police. Plenty of merit lts with less time. Dont hate because you were in his academy class and not smart enough to pass the sgts exam.

Evans first day in 003 was out ordering the day tact team to lock up everyone on BS. Had one team staying till 10pm on garbage trespass. doesn't make sense to punish the tact teams. go after the dogs on the watch. the entire 661 team was in 003 filling out par forms. silly.

Yes, that is a punishment. When you can't get days off and people are forced to work over time on bullshit arrest, then yes you are being punished.
Evans should focus on the 40+ people on medical/IOD. Not the tact teams.

How do some of your officers go up in ranks while others with intelligence and street smarts make much less and never see a promotion? Can think of a situation from 24th where an officer was transferred out of 24 and made Sgt right away. That officer now makes more than MANY veteran experienced smart police officers. Certainly not based on knowledge or experience. All who got you there and what you do to the people that got you there I suppose. Sad to see people getting passed up who really care about their work while others suck it up all the way to the top.
