What's the deal with 019 getting hammered at last Thursday's CompStat meeting over a rise in robberies, yet every single day, they have to down how many cars per shift (and the wagon most days) protecting Rahm's house from bags of tomatoes?

Anyone curious why the Mayor Shylock Tomato Caper never made the news. Great story. Shows how anal these political privileged assholes really are. All crime in 019 is up. Consolidation doesn't work. The total number of beats has been diminished and while most people think there is an overload of blueshirts the fact remains that a lot of bodies are inside, on the mayor's detail, on the bullshit "entertainment" detail or on foot/bike teams that do nothing. Not to mention that since the lock-up in the new bldg is closed, every watch has to maintain 2 desk crews: 1 at the station; 1 at Belmont/Western.
60 tact personel? the district eliminated beats during the consolidation so why the same amount on tact? Same amount of area doesnt cut it. 016 is bigger, yet only have three teams.
And yet... we will now be restricting your time due here on out. Thanks for all your hard work- CHUMPS.
I'd like to thank the 019 guys who showed up to help me with a disturbance a few weeks back. The only time I've EVER called for anything in 11 years living over here. Glad you guys showed up, spoke with me (I told u I was the police), drove around the block one time, and I never saw you again. I figured you had at least gone to a hot job or something? Nope. Looked up ur event history later at work. You fuckers 5P'd it and went and took a personal. So thanks, thanks for nothing.

Very much agreed> From what I have seen the few times that I have gone out on clark st. are nothing but fights and ghetto gang bangers walking up and down clark looking for their next victim. 30 tact. guys would definitely help the cause. Clark st. is a accident waiting to happen!

Is it because that area opens their arms to criminals who "Claim they are victims of intolerance in da hood?" oh and let's not forget the liberals in the neighborhood who think they are so (fill in the blank) and allow the criminal element walk freely with acceptance?
Are they aware that this clientele are gangbangers, utilizing the open market of prostitution, and opportunity to shop for their victims?
I would make a estimation that the cause of at least 70% of 019's robberies victims are, in addition to thinking carelessly about the west side clientele, and the large amount of consumed alcohol, and of course the chance to get freaky on the pleasures Sodom has to offer, is a combination of all of this.
I would be concerned if these numbers were occurring in 016 for example, however in a area that mixes booze/drugs with open sex innuendo....where its excepted (if not protected by civil liberty) its a haven for criminal opportunists.
I am not saying anything negative about the area's lifestyle, but the lifestyle is now open to victimization by means of their own presumed acceptance.
Ok...ok....they are victims to......but that's during the day as they mope around......but at night.....yes....bewitching hour!!!!
I must say though..... The girls are really hot!!!! ....The real ones that is.

I agree. It's always been part of the culture south of Wrigleyville that the predators wait for the drunk and stupid kids to spill out of the bars and then rob them as they stagger down side streets. Been going on forever. There's always been a reluctance on the part of whatever commander was there to put tactical personnel in this area between 2000-0400 or 2100-0500. Yeah, maybe one tact car but that's about it. Kenny is a pretty smart guy; he'll do the right thing ... I hope.
The reason why robberies are up in 019 is because belmont and sheffield and clark street are up for grabs. Herds of offenders walk around waiting for the next victim to stumble out of the bars with their iphone waiving around. There are 60 tactical officers in 019. 30 should remain on tact like the rest of the city has 3 tactical teams. The other 30 should be assigned to belmont and sheffield and clark street. One team on clark. One team on belmont and sheff. And one team on relief to cover rdo's. It works out perfect and it will send a message to all these ghetto m.f.'s that we r taking the streets back. I cannot believe that division has officers assigned and clark st. Doesnt when clark st has 3xs the amount of bars..019 has on guy on clark st. And he needs help!!!!!
Kenny should have been forced to retire when 019 and 023 merged. A lackluster man for many years, posing as a leader in a quiet district that isn't so quiet anymore.

Serious?? Kenny is a pussy, he does nothing usefull with all these tact teams, half should be working nights thats when all the crime occurs, they should be working Halsted st. if 30 of your tactical officers were moved to the belmont and clark area Crime would drop immediately!
Question #1 - are tact guys the only ones required or able to make a robbery arrest?
Question #2 - There is an entertainment detail for Clark, Halsted and Belmont/Sheffield. In cars, foot and bikes. What do they do?

Going to bars on Clark Street is like riding a bike in this schity, your risking your own life, sexual assault and loss of property.

The truth of the matter is that the tact teams were spared at the comstat meeting, Kenny was berated because of no watch activity. Maybe a couple of guys on each watch bring in activity and the rest do nothing but collect a check. You want to put heat on the 60 tact guys, then go make arrests hero. Everyone has a set of cuffs and a Chicago Police Star, you don't have to be tact to make an arrest, whether its a one bagger or something more substantial.
Very sad when POs dont give one our own full service for both him and family, but, its not the first time.
Bottom line.....the system in 019 is not working. 60 tactical officers getting 3 hour ducks does not help the dist. Some shuffling needs to be done. Grab the top 30 guys in activity and move the other 30..then grab the top 3 sgts whose teams have produced and get rid of the other 3 sgts....and needless to say 2 tactical secretaries are not needed. So that frees up 34 pos and sgts combined. Kenny its only gonna get worse. Something needs to give
