Add Three

At least:
  • A 22-year-old man died in a long-term care hospital on Wednesday eight months after he was shot on the city's Far South Side, authorities said.

Eight months later? Damn, that's going to throw a wrench in things.

  • Two men were shot dead and at least five others wounded in several separate overnight shootings across the South Side, Chicago police said.

And then the ever popular "death investigation" waiting for an upgrade:

  • The badly decomposed body of a woman was discovered this morning near railroad tracks in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
But at CompStat, you better not be taking any time due.

And it was a cool, dreary, damp day. Gotta love it when we still make the averages in spite of the less-than-optimal weather conditions.

And no, you can't have time due.

Excuse me, but I'd like to hear a word from CeaseFire. One! One fucking word explaining what exactly this group of shitheads has done to curb the violence in this city. Not a god damn thing!
A million bucks gone and nothing to show for it. Nothing! Sure, we all knew they wouldn't change a damn thing and they sure as hell haven't.

How about some transparency as to what exactly they were supposed to do with this money. How many "employees" do they have? What do they do? Where's the $ now? And what was it actually for? Nothing to show for it and while McFuckwad played the role of being 'against' Rham sending money to these thugs he sure hasn't said much since. A fucking puppet he is. What a sick state of affairs this has become, not that it was ever 'healthy' but god damn...

Hey media puppets! We know you troll this page. So how about instead of questioning why an officer fired upon someone attempting murder. Why don't you do a little piece on Cease...I mean CrossFire.

Can't wait to be out of this shithole city....

If McBatty keeps spouting he doesn't need more police, why can't anyone take time due? If he's using his 'resources' in the most effective manner, and if the powers that don't believe more boots on the street doesn't reduce crime, why all the hollering about people taking time due? Just askin'.

If he was shot 8 months ago in 2011, the homicide goes on 2011 totals. It's a delayed reporting. It's not counted for Aug 2012 totals. At least that's how it use to be.

Is it true that there was a Homicide at 83rd Kostner last night? St. Bede's was once a nice place for CPD & CFD to live - what happened to that neighborhood????

Don't forget, your SS or DSS can no longer approve your time due, only the Cmdr or XO.

Hey Lieutenant, would love to help with the numbers, what can you do for me? I'll submit your slip to the XO, officer!
If the SS or DSS has no control over the watch, who needs them? Let the XO's work shifts like the Fire Dept, and forget the sergeants and Lieutenants. What a money saver!

WHY DO YOU THINK THEY LOST THEIR STATE FUNDING IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Here, a massive, multi-part story -- "The Audit Of CeaseFire."

There was NO excuse for the City of Chicago to be giving further funding to a group that has PROVEN to be so dishonest and irresponsible.

"It is clear from the audit that Ceasefire played fast and loose with the State's money and failed to live up to its responsibilities under the contractual agreements it entered into with the various state agencies.

"To date Ceasefire has yet to explain why it withheld a percentage of the money directed to its community partners, on average about 17%, and spent that money on personal and fringe benefits. It is important to remember that Ceasefire engaged plenty of community partners and withheld money as a regular practice and failed to detail it in the contracts with the State.

"This certainly seems unsettling at the least and leaning toward underhanded or deceitful. Any non-profit that got caught failing to detail what it was doing with this much money as part of the daily operations of the organization would face the loss of their funding.

"This problem is not an accounting error, it starts from the time Ceasefire sends in a grant proposal with the State and continues into the daily operations. No other explanation can be logically assumed without the inclusion of a purposeful desire to deceive the State on the withholding of part of the money directed to its community partners.

"The allegations contained in the audit and detailed here have not made it into the press coverage associated with the push to restart state funding of the project.

[Dr. Gary] Slutkin has been very adept at marginalizing critics of the project and framing the loss of state funding in the context of the budget crisis in the summer of 2007. In later additions of this series I will talk about how Ceasefire was the beneficiary of State politics not the victim.

"Ceasefire lost its State funding because of the highly questionable financial dealings it engaged in, not because of State politics."

Why doesn't somebody ask Theo Hardiman how he hid a murderer from the police, then wrote a letter about the murderer outstanding character at the sentencing.

question??? anyone know? does the FOP have to wait for the city to meet with them to address the time due grievance they claim to city is putting off or can we they just take the matter to court. Seems to me the union is just sitting back quietly. Can someone who understands the contract elaborate? And if our union is just sitting back and doing nothing, how can we go about issuing a no confidence vote on Shields and company ??? Mike, really disappointed in you... Thought you stood for something.

So was Visitation, Saint Sabina, Little Flower, Saint Ethelreda, Saint Margaret of Scotland and many, many others. Now think hard and you will know the answer.
