Crime Still Down
- Two people were killed and two others wounded early Tuesday when the occupants of a vehicle opened fire into the car the victims were sitting in in the Far South Side West Pullman neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 2:37 a.m. in the 400 block of West 120th Street, according to police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines. The victims were sitting in a car when a dark-colored SUV pulled alongside and someone inside opened fire.
And as noted just below, CeaseFire lost an employee yesterday, too. We can only imagine that this was his area of responsibility and since he was incapacitated (by which we mean "dead") this quadruple shooting occurred.

In case you missed it we're supposed to be treating these things like a disease. Tell the 9-1-1 call center to have them take two pills and call us back in the morning if the shooting is still going on.
McCarthy was spinnin' like a mo-fo while carting WBBM-TV's Mai Martinez around town the other night!
Bad start to the year, but homicides are down now due to "new strategies" (which one are we on now?).
He again lied about putting 600 more officers on the street, but Martinez caught him on that one (MSF, TRU), saying 500 were already on the street. (Did she thank SCC for that?).
She also asked about hiring more police and he said we have "...more police per capita..." and that it wouldn't help, but Martinez hung in there (well, sort of) and suggested that Chicago might be different and NEED more police.

Crime down? OK. But the rat population is still way, way up. That's so we can truly be a Third World country with high crime, bad roads, out of control vermin, and a banana republic style city council run by a dictator called mayor. They clip you at every corner and you can buy justice for the right price.

Has anyone noticed that while overall crime is down, the two things that all the initiatives have focused on, murders and shootings, are the only two categories that are UP? We are working, the inititiatives are not!
