Jail Time?

  • U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. may serve time in prison under a plea deal that is being negotiated, CBS 2 is reporting.

As part of the deal being negotiated by former U.S. Attorney Dan Webb, Jackson would resign his post citing health reasons, plead guilty to misusing campaign funds, repay the campaign funds used illegally and he would possibly serve time in prison, according to the report.
Probably what? Six months?  And a pardon to clear his name in 2016?

Anyone feel like betting on that one?

Even without the pardon, his constituency would probably still re-elect him when he came out of prison.

Especially if when he comes out he says that he "found religion" in prison....which would be an interesting place for him to find it.

Sure Ill take that bet, by 2016 the USD will be worthless. In the last 4 years we borrowed 6 Trillion to grow the economy by $905 billion. Putting that into perspective: Put $20 in gas in your car to drive to work and only make $3.01 for the day.

Can I get the same residency waiver his wife Alderman Sandi Jackson enjoys? Between Rahm's wife forgetting a wedding dress in a basement meaning an "intent" to return to Chicago and an Alderman living and sending her children to school in Washington D. C. what constitutes "resideny" for city employees?

If Jesse Jr. takes the plea then the Party has his wife Sandi or his brother Johnathan poised to step right into his vacated spot as representative, and yes when he's finished serving whatever time he's given, the voters will be more than happy to re-elect him.
The Jacksons are the so-called "First Family" of southside politics.

The charge will be a felony, no doubt about it.

Unfortunately he is not barred from running, being elected to, or serving in office with a felony conviction.

However Congress can vote on whether to discharge him or not and generally does in this situation and probably will easily with a Republican majority congress.

However, the X factor is his phoney balogney mental health and of course the good old fashioned race card, so don't count him out yet.

Does one believe that rat-face Dan Webb would have brokered such a deal for the coppers he prosecuted?
You can bet no matter how long tripJ spends in jail, it won't be the same as the average copper and when he gets out, he'll run and be re-elected for office as was disgraced DC Mayor Marion Barry.
Politics as usual, move along, nuttin' to see here.

He should be stepping down because he committed a crime, not because he is sick. He should be charged, face prison time and lose his pension. He should've known better, taking advantage of the publics trust and being an elected official makes it worse. If it were any of us we would be in federal prison with no pension and no healthcare even if we were sick. If we lose our pension when we get found guilty, then it should definitely apply to him also.

I believe that when the details of this investigation are finally made public this entire matter should also signal the end of the public career of Sandi Jackson. If substantial sums of money wer spent on their Washington Home, I find it hard to believe that she would not have known the source of those funds. This is also a serious ethics problem for her. But, you know politics in this town.

Illinois is also one of the few states that allows convicted felons to vote. The democrats know the majoriety of criminals vote for them, so the passed the law making felons able to vote. FUCK THIS STATE!

Mel Reynolds got a job in a Southside church. I wonder if he was recommended by Father Clemons?
