Just another Saturday night near the Mag Mile! Hate to say it but that was pretty tame. Then again, this past Saturday can't even compare to a beautiful summer night in this "World Class Shitty"!

Do you understand the difference between a 3 am bar brawl with a bunch of frat boys on streets covered with other drunken frat boys and a street brawl on Michigan Ave at a time that normal people might be there with their families?

Not a bad idea, if not recovered and returned this affects our insurance rates. It is also a way to evade responsibility for hit-and-run crashes. Stolen cars are use in shootings all the time.
Modern cars all have P.A.T.S. (Passive Anti-Theft System). It is almost impossible to steal a late model vehicle with the old column peel or hot-wire. It would take a serious electronic gear to steal a late model car without a proper "chipped" key or tow truck.
A lot of stolen auto reports are domestics...baby's mama needed to get Pampers and got mad.
...or junior took the car when the report card came in... never mind junior I wants my car.
...or all these cars look alike when covered in snow.
...or I remember one case when I called the victim to tell him we found the car and she yelled, "YOU FOUND IT WHERE! WHY THAT NO GOOD #^&$$ HE BEEN VISITIN' THAT FLOOSIE WAIT TILL I GET MY HANDS ON HIM.
If a car has OnStar equipment, even if the victim does not have a subscription, a L.E.O. can call and get activated and the car located. From experience, OnStar is well worth the price.
P.S. Important, if you have only two keys for your late model car get third key made. You can buy a chipped key blank ($10-20), and remotes on-line get it cut at a local hardware store. Then follow the instructions and program the new key yourself. If you have only one key it can cost $130 or more for a second key at a dealer or locksmith. If you loose BOTH keys it can cost $1200-1800 to replace the whole system.
