Another Fire Rescue - by CPD
- Two police officers working in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood overnight just may have saved the half-dozen residents of the building from serious injury by waking them up to alert them to a fire in the building then escorting them safely outside.
At approximately 2:55 a.m., Calumet District officers Brian Rix and Jason Toliver were on routine patrol in the 200 block of West 109th St. when they observed smoke, then flames, coming from a second floor window of a building, a release from police News Affairs said.
The officers quickly get into the home through a front door, and were able to awaken all the occupants. The officers then safely escorted five adults and a young child from the burning building as fire department personnel and assisting units arrived on the scene, the release said.
Well done Officers.

speaking from experience in 005...nice job officers...dont expect any awards though...the commander only approves them for a certain race and the sergeants are too dumb and lazy to reward anyone...yet they keep asking for contact cards and keep denying days off..
yep if u worked a beat in 005 for 8 plus years and followed the caps philosophy but didnt write enuf contact cards
for the period(ie: violate peoples rights) you get dumped from ur car...the kool-aid taste so good! oh i forgot to mention recovering 4 guns, in a shoot-out with 2 offenders in a foot pursuit, and zero,, nada ..nothing ..not even considered bcuz im white! fuck 005
One more reason firemen should be out patrolling for fires

Quit your fucking whining, crybaby. Been there, done that, got the T shirt. You must be part of that Gen Y group that can't function if you don't get an award or some kind of recognition for every little thing you THINK you accomplish. Look at all these things you're crying about as a lesson learned - validation if you will - to do nothing more than what's required of you. Figure it out already and report back to us when you have that revelation you so desperately need, son. 8 years on and still can't wipe his ass without being told "what a big boy your are!!"

You don't need an effing piece of paper in your personnel jacket, or some miniscule symbolic bar on your uniform bestowed by the controllers to prove that you are
an exemplary Police Officer.
You know you are.
The officer(s) who work with you know it, don't kid yourself.
The 'conditioning' began with all of us in first grade when they placed little gold stars on our foreheads for doing a good job.
YOU know what you do out there, why give a rats ass for the 'atta boy' by those who wear the Gold Star.
Do not give them that power.

On the northside its the same in 017 they never write us up...robbery burglary arrests (patterns stopped) from arrests made in 2011 til now on midnights in 017 they just punish us here and ACT like they care about usand we only have a few sgts that give a crap so sad morale is low new boss seems ok he should look into this
