Bad Crash

Nothing about this looked good:

  • A police officer responding to a burglary call was injured in a traffic crash in the Logan Square neighborhood this afternoon, authorities said. The officer, whose age and sex were not released by police, was in a squad car that collided with another vehicle near Sacramento Avenue and George Street about 1:15 p.m., said Chicago Police Department News Affairs
Prayers and well wishes to the Officer only in this thread please.

C'mon. Look at the pictures. That's not a "crash." That's just a "scare."

It was "in the [fill in blank] neighborhood," too, so it's all good. It's a "community" joint.

Now that that's out of the way...oh boy. Thank God it wasn't much worse. Best wishes to injured officer and family and others affected. All I see is the "ripple effect" -- the phone rings at home, then a dozen calls are made, then 50 people are running around...now other folks don't have their car, someone has to go get their kids, etc., etc...

Heard the "Super Sergeant" struck again last night in 025! He and his "sidekick" Sgt "Scared of my own shadow" arrived on the scene of a fire "10-1" near North/Cicero where a tax paying citizen was apparently battered in a "nightclub" / bar and the offender(s) returned to the bar and locked the door. So..... what does wonder boy do next??? He has the fire dept make a forced entry to the bar/nightclub by prying the accordion gate off the front of the bar and sledgehammering the door open, breaking glass etc... and lo and behold when they make entry to the bar/nightclub..... there is not a soul inside!! LOL The firemen were fucking super pissed off and the officers on the scene had a good chuckle. The disappearing sidekick Sgt was nowhere to be seen when all of this went down but an anonymous source did say he was seen lighting prayer candles and holding a rosary that nothing would happen that he would ever have to make a decision on or be involved in... he was also seen downing an entire bottle of Tums on the scene. Well, Thank God 3rd watch is getting the Super Sergeant!! Have fun kids.

What is it going to take to hire more officers this is horrible hope the officer is ok like they said unless its a10-1 or your family take your time not hiring any po's shows they could care less about us as far as the south side let them kill each other when they r done shooting then go in and call for ambulance I wish my neighborhood had that kind of police presence.the tax payers have no police because they send them to protect the savages it makes me sick 1 year to go I feel bad for all the officers out there with the savages happy new year!

I love the idiots with the lectures. No one has the right to tell another police officer how he or she should do their jobs. If you choose not to be aggressive and go in "hot" to that in progress call, that's your decision. If someone who's more aggressive chooses to go lights and siren to an in progress call, so be it. We've all been around the block a time or two and everyone has their opinion of how police work should be done.
Lets just thank the big man upstairs that this officer will be ok!

Sgt. S.M. is a dick, an arrogant prick, an asshole, a snake, a sneaky bastard and many other adjectives (but you get the picture) I can't think of right now. 1st watch is so happy to see him go. 1st watch is going to have a little party to see his ass go. He is also reviled by his fellow sgt's. 3rd watch in 025 I feel sorry for you. This sgt. has initiated more cr numbers on officers than all other sgt. across all three different watches combined. If a citizen complains "the officer didn't give me a poleeece report" then he will believe them over you. End of discussion. If a citizen complains on you for anything. He believes them over you. End of discussion. On purpose he also creates division and infighting among the watch. His signature move is to call a fellow p.o. or talk to him and say "hey so and so is talking about you" or "I heard that this group of officers said this about you to Platt". At roll call he insulted the entire watch one time. At roll call recently he told everyone how the big guy who does tvb's all day was not interested in backing up his fellow officers. Because of him a bunch of my coworkers got pissed at me and then we all saw that the common thread among our infighting was guess who? Yes sgt. S.M.and thank God I don't need to deal with him anymore. He does that shit a lot. Plus he is proud of arresting a sgt. and a p.o. in summer of 2012 at Grand and Neva. He was actually bragging about it. While in the station he was smiling and being funny on arresting a fellow sgt. and his brother who is a p.o. 025 3rd watch pick your poison Sgt. C.H. or Sgt. S.M.

Bonus question: Who can get themselves kicked out out of the Marine Unit and the Helicopter Unit? If you said sgt. S.M. then you are 100% right. How big of an asshole do you have to be to get kicked out of those two units? Oh and remember this, no matter what, sgt. S.M. is always right. 3rd watch officers remember that!

I always hustle to a call for assistance. That is not like a pursuit, you are no good as an assist if you need help yourself after totaling out the squad, that means less officers to help with the 10-1. Hustle but don't kill yourself.
