It could be worse. I was visiting a family member at a nursing home outside of Cook County and was talking to the security guards. They are all out of a job effective Jan1, 2013. They work for the county, their jobs are going to a private contractor to save money. Unemployment or a 50% pay cut are their options.
So it could be worse. Save as much as possible.

OMG, It' me, Missy. I thought everyone forgot about me. Super people, I am still a parking ticket guru and writing about 60 a day. Yes people, I slowed down cause the people knew I always watched for people that do not feed the meters on 001.
I got rid of my husband after I found that he was a switch hitter. No way Jose am I going to put up with his ways.
I lost 50 pounds and I am down to 150 now. My ex gave me some bug and I got sickly and lost the weight.
I have not been writing here cause some people were a little cruel to me cause I am parker guru. I hope you people have a nice new years day, I am off holidays cause I produce people. In 2013 people, write a book of parkers for our new mayor. I was a Richie girl, but I want the mayor to know the workers like me support him.

can anyone answer me who the commander of 003 is and what is he doing out there? we were trying to respond to an emergency in 007 and were a couple blocks away when the commander of 003 was blocking the middle of the street in his car. there was a staredown and we were asking additional officers from 003 to ask him to move because there was an emergency a couple blocks away and they laughed and said, "oh, he won't move that's the commander, ha. that's just how he is." so instead of the commander moving while he's already in the driver's seat, he stays put and stares us down and makes an officer get in his patrol car(who's already parked off to the curb) and move. this commander could have cost an officer(s) his/her safety because he is ignorant. i see how he likes to lead by example, ha, so pathetic commander. why even be out on the street if you're going to do stuff like the savages do. i was just waiting for him to yell "fuck you office" when we sped past him.

Lot of material on news, several people pushed under trains in NYC, I think they said 56 people died on their tracks just in 2012.
Now, this is the way I understand it -- anyone from CTA to confirm that this is right? Probably the "spokesmen" won't say s__t. Any real person in a hard hat and safety vest who makes a living walking around down there to clue us in?
* At platforms, the third rail (600 volts DC, lethal) is set on the far side of the track from the platform.
* If you go off the platform and there is a train coming, last-ditch is to stretch out full-length under the edge of the platform, tight up against it, as far from the running rail as possible, and just hang in there. (Of course it is filthy and full of garbage. Ignore.)
I understand that there is enough room there by design for a person to survive. Is that correct? Is there clearance there? (If not, why not, huh?)
I would still be worried about the (energized) third-rail pickup shoes snagging me.
The edge of that platform is about five feet high -- there are no handholds, it is REAL hard to get a leg up, impossible for some, and I have seen the train speedometers hit 60 when that thing comes south out of the tunnel under the river...you know this, and there is a drug-impaired twelve-year-old girl wandering around on the tracks for some piece of paper she dropped...time starts dilating...

Dude Glenn is the fucking police get that straight.I don't debate he lacks people skills but i can think of 20 hack gold stars i wouldn't want on the scene of my shooting if i was involved.Glenn and a few bosses almost all retired are the only guys i would want on-scene.Just my opinion.
