More NY Nanny Statism

  • That ban on big sodas being pushed by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is about to spoil family pizza night.

The ban on sodas over 16 ounces takes effect on March 12, and the New York Post reports it has some previously uncontemplated effects. For instance, ordering a 2-liter bottle of Coke, Pepsi, Sprite or whatever the family desires with a pizza delivery won’t be allowed. Even pitchers of soda at children’s birthday parties are going to be a no-no under Bloomberg’s far-reaching ban, according to the paper.

Bloomberg, who instituted a widely emulated smoking ban early in his tenure at City Hall, has followed that up by taking aim at trans fats, salt and baby formula. But the soda ban, announced last year, moves him farther into nanny state territory than any previous measure, say critics. The rules are tricky, and violations can bring $200 fines. Diet sodas and alcoholic beverages are not covered by the ban, fruit smoothies are okay as long as they don’t have added sugar and coffee drinks and milkshakes pass muster if they contain at least 50 percent milk. Drinks with added sugar must not contain more than 3.125 calories per ounce.
And the effect on the environment?
  • Customers will have to order smaller bottles, which cost more and increase plastic waste.
Control freak gone wild.

When there were still real men left in this country before the socialist takeover, there were bootleggers who peddled in alcohol.

Now the bootleggers will peddle soda pop. The Elliot Ness of Pepsi will be appointed by ObaMAO.

How far we have sunk because of socialists.

Alcoholic beverages are not part of the ban. Makes sense. Go to a game at MSG, get a couple of those giant $16 stadium beers, get fucked up, drive home...you're ok, but order a pitcher of pepsi at the local pizza place for the family, and you get fined $200. Hey Bloomberg...go fuck yourself and the horse you rode in on. Oh, by the way, the PAC that this goof is a part of, gave about $1mil to the 2nd congressional primary to back Robin Kelly. She won. Nice to see that New York politicians are now buying elections here.

Do you remember the movie, "Caine Mutiny" with Humphrey Bogart as Captain Queeg? Do you remember how Captain Queeg use to fondle those ball bearings in his hand when he felt stress? In the movie, Queeg is relieved of his position after it was revealed that he was a paranoid personality, reflected by his harassing, unnecessary orders and punishments issued to his crew, his micro-managing and his raging insecurities. Well, NY has got themselves a Captain Queeg. Bloomturd is a midget who feels he is king and he will tell you whant you must do. As a example, I read that Bloomturd demanded that landlords provide him with the names and addresses of their tenants who were smokers. Couple that with all his other demands of his "subjects" such as banning trans fats, salt on restaurant tables, styrofoam containers, and whatever else I haven't listed. Bloomturd is a mental case, and it will be the responsibility of those living in NYC to get rid of him before he squeezes them further to give up more freedoms and rights. Ask the New York City cops what Bloomturd has done to them, what he demands from them and the punishment handed out if they fail to deliver. Much about this has been discussed on www.freerepublic.com. The news articles reprinted and the info from the blog entries afterward from New Yorkers who live there is very revealing. Bloomturd is a socialist, pretending to be a Republican...hows's that socialism working out for you New Yorkers?

How did this asshole ever get elected? Also get a whiff of this. In more and more state's, it is difficult for the people to verify election results. We are supposed to just "trust the American way of doing things". By that I mean more and more cities and states are using electronic machines. Those electronic machines do not leave a paper ballot. So there is no way to verify the results.

OT. It appears that NY Mayor Bloomberg was behind the super pack ads that got Robin Kelly elected in the 2nd Congressional district, JJ's seat. Those were the ads that attacked Halverson for her stand on guns. Could this mean that a ban on 16 oz grape pop and other soft drinks in the 2nd district could be coming? For the longest time since the seat was vacated, they were interviewed and said how they would not elect anyone that was connected to the "white man" who would hold them down. I wonder how they feel knowing that their elected person was backed by "the white man?" Oh wait, all morning we have been hearing on the news how the 2nd Congressional district is not that bright. So I guess they won't mind if their elected official spends most of her time in NY to repay her biggest backer.

Like the compact fluorescent light bulbs replacing the incandescent bulbs. Look at how much energy you save. But they cost more and when they break you got a hazmat scene due to the mercury released.

Saw Robin Kelly or whatever her name is, JJJr's heir apparent on the news last night. She was talking tough about tackling the shooting problem by more and more gun control but never mentioned the savages who are the real problems.

Further examples of democrats coming up with solutions that are not solutions at all but rather cause more problems.

"Customers will have to order smaller bottles, which cost more and increase plastic waste." - Bloomberg has also come out against another of the US's greatest enemies, styrofoam. So he's fixing this problem by banning another product. Wouldn't it be a great protest to see a hundred or so people drinking oversized Slurpees out of styrofoam cups on the lawn of Gracie Mansion?

Well, following Bloomberg's orders, my meal this weekend was illegal. The pizza delivery man also handed me a quart of soda. Contrary to what Bloomberg believes, the cola was not consumed completely for a few days. I do not need to drink thirty-two ounces at once.

As to the good question as to how this ass got elected, he posed as a Republican in order to succeed Rudy who retired due to term limits. Once in office, Bloomberg changed his political stripes and waged a legal battle to overturn the term limits law.
