Homeowner Shoots Through Door
- During the past few days and weeks, VP Joe Biden has been passing out advice on how to use a shotgun--the problem is, much of what he has advised is against the law. Virginia Beach resident Trevor Snowden found this out the hard way when he fired "a shotgun through the door" and faced charges for "reckless handling of a firearm."
The 22-year old Snowden fired through a door after seeing two masked men by a window of his residence.
It was during an interview with Field and Stream that Biden said one of the pluses of using a shotgun for home defense over an AR-15 is that you can "just fire the shotgun through the door" to keep people away from your house.
The problem with this advice, as Trevor Snowden discovered, it that using a shotgun in that manner is illegal.
As Breitbart News pointed out in another place, this goes right along with Biden's suggestion that homeowners randomly fire shotguns into the air to scare off intruders--after all, that is what he tells his wife to do if she hears someone outside when he's not home. Yet firing guns into the air within city limits is illegal as well.
We're sure there's a Presidential Pardon on that way as we speak. After all, following the dictates of the Vice President of the United States can't get you in trouble, can it?

That is grossly unfair. I hope he does get the charges dropped. If the ASAs were smart, they would drop it. I hope he does not go bankrupt defending himself.

He should be let go for sure, he was only following the advice given to him by the vice president. I think he has a good case, subpoena uncle joe let him tell the court he instructed this method of self defense.
If he were smart, Trevor Snowden woulda told authorities that the two masked men repeatedly told him "We see you in there. We're gonna bust that door down and come in and kill you...right after we rape you."

Shooting through doors is dangerous, especially if you're not really sure of what's on the other side and shooting in the air (ie: a warning shot) is also extremely reckless. The laws of physics would dictate 'what goes up, must come down.' Where it will land is a crap shoot. KNOW YOUR TARGET!

VP would decline subpoenas on the grounds that Snowden did not use a double barreled shotgun.
Any responsible gun owner who would rely on instructions from a goof like Joe Biden as to how to responsibly handle a firearm and does so in such an irresponsible manner deserves to sit in the cooler and think about it. I don't think SCC would accept what Biden told them regarding safe firearm usage at face value, I know I wouldn't, it's not how we were trained...so why would an ordinary citizen?

He didn't just shot through a door. He opened his bed room door. Seen the people. Closed the door. Got the gun and then shot through the door. I would do it.
