Deep thoughts while working VRI this week:

But those checks look awfully good.

Gary and 9.5 are totally out of ideas!

They're left with beating on The Police to make it look like they're doing "something."

And speaking of VRI.....

Star date: Saturday, 16 Mar 13

Loction: 011 Desk

Female citizen at desk making a domestic battery report. As she is relating pertinent info to the desk officer, victim is approached by an officer working VRI who, sensing her situation and vulnerability, starts "macking" on her.

Officer doing the report politely asks VRI officer, later identified BY THE BUSINESS CARD HE GAVE THE THE CITIZEN/VICTIM (C.M., 18 years on, 007 district, last name is the opposite of "Less") to step aside as she is conducting official police business. VRI officer says something to the effect of "I'm still talking to the lady" and refuses the desk officers request.

The citizen/victim, obviously very uncomfortable with the VRI officers continuing advances, gives a "please do something" look to the desk officer, who repeats her request for the VRI officer to leave the victim alone, to which he replies "you don't have to be such a bitch about it".

At this point, the victim is smart enough to hand desk officer Officer Romeo's business card, which is then handed to the DSS with a synopsis of what had just occurred. DSS calls VRI Romeo into office and reams his ass good, and rightfully so. SPAR is generated also.

I have never experienced a more pathetic and unprofessional display of ignorance on this job. One: there are so many things wrong with trolling the waters for romance at work to even begin listing them here. A VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, in the process of reporting the incident? Don't get much lower than that, C*a*n*e*.

Two: to refer to a fellow officer as a "bitch", in front of any member of the public, is, well, a BITCH move. And to do so after being rightfully checked for being an asshole takes a special breed of imbecile, *h*u*c*y.

You, C.M. from the 007 district, just took over the #2 spot on the "011 District Past, Present or Passing Thru Asshole" list. Consider yourself nestled between 1130 Third Watch and Penelope Trahanas....for now.

If you think VRI as we know it is idiotic. How about watching 20 recruits, a lieutenant and a deputy walk around a half mile square deployment all night, while 10 P.Os sit in cars 10 feet away.

You're not doing yourselves a favor in the long run. They need to hire more police to keep the streets safe and to keep contributing to the pension. Hiring current members back lets them hold off on that.

The money might be good for now, but the future will go to Rahm and his plans to screw you out of a pension.

You are mostly correct, except that the VRI officer didn't call the officer a bitch. He called the officer a "fucking asshole" in front of a bunch of p/os and citizens at the desk though. THEN, when the LT went out in the hall to try to find this VRI guy, he saw the LT looking for him and RAN out the back door. It was because he had given his card to the woman that he was able to be tracked down.

SERIOUSLY?

What a THIRSTY, PREDATORY, LOW-LIFE M/FER!

Just on this shit alone? It ain't the first time this oxygen thief in a CPD uniform has pulled low-down shit like this.

"It's the ghetto so who gives a fuck?"

Fuck this clown... Strip and begin separation proceedings against his ass... Quickly... Thank You... Before he very loudly steps in some shit and gives 9.5 more ammo to turn the public against us.

This is so far beyond just a smile, a stinky-wink and giving/getting the digits...

He would probably be showing up at a copper's house if it were one of his female family members so distastefully and disrespectfully "cruised."

Good on the desk officer turning his ass in...

Good on the DSS plowing this clown's ass and getting the discipline ball rolling...

Stupid SHOULD hurt!

Regarding the post about the moron who was hitting on a citizen filing a report- that crap happens all the time and to be partners or have to ride with one of these fools who can't get a date off duty so they hit on every decent looking female walking by your squad car is embarrassing and uncomfortable to say the least. How pathetic is it to use the uniform as your only means to get a piece of ass??? Get a life and another line of work losers.

Dear Friend: We all know that, IN THE LONG RUN, it would be better for the Department if the City used all that money to hire more officers, but in the short run, all that police presence, right now, IS making a difference in reducing the violence that occurs in "challenged" neighborhoods. If more police were hired instead, they wouldn't hit the street right away, and thus, no extra bodies right away to tackle the homicide rate right now, which has been making embarrassing national headlines.

I also believe it's cheaper for the City to pay us time-and-a-half than hire new officers and all that goes with it: health insurance, pension, uniform pay, etc.

Additionally, the City can cancel this program any time it wants. If more police are hired instead, that means all those officers that the City must pay for until they retire.

Let's face it: the City has been strategically down-sizing the CPD for years; the goal is to get us down to about 8,000 sworn members, which will happen eventually.

What a loser! "Predator" also comes to mind. Gee whiz, what could possibly go wrong with pulling a bone headed stunt lik this? Maybe an on-duty 3-Way with your partner and some drunk chick that took a ride home in the squad car? (That thing got real quiet, huh?) This VRI money has nothing to do with the city throwing out handfuls of cash. This is federal money thrown at Rham to try and quell the homicides for the year. It's all about Rham looking good and making McDumbballs not look so moronic.

This will not be available as 2014 rolls around, so use it up now. When this money is spent the city will wash its hands of this bone that were getting.

Don't thank the city for this great idea this is a strictly political move that everyone should be jumping on.

P.S.

Any chance of more bike lanes we need more?

I'm sorry that was a Freudian slip what i meant to say was Fuck you Rham.

Au contraire, you idiot. Airing dirty laundry before the public uncovers it for themselves sends the message that, hopefully, the Good Old Boys Club of CPD yesteryear is gone for good. That - gulp!!! - POs are actually tired of FUCKUPS on the job and will take proactive measures to ensure what's left of our integrity doesn't get flushed down the toilet.

I applaud the officer for reporting this loser to the DSS. And I applaud whoever made sure SCC got ahold of this disgusting display of "chivalry".

And I'd guess you're a supervisor asking what him being a VRI officer has to do with it. Uh, the topic of the thread is about VRI. Doesn't get much simpler than that. Unless we're talking about your simple, sorry ass.
