Snitches get stitches
If I can find the snitch box, I am gonna drop a dime on out second watch DSS, for coming in late 80-85% of the time and not dropping a slip. Oh wait everyone know about this already and no one cares to do anything.
Its all good in the hood, I will just keep coming in late everyday also. But will he start me at 530-700- or 800? Only time will tell.

Have you not heard the latest new strategy for doing more with less? TD 9.5 and G-MACK have decreed that citizens can tape their snitch letters to a red-light camera box or a speed camera box until the city, [if ever], has the money to purchase and install the dedicated snitch boxes. Any city employee observing a letter(s) taped to a camera box is charged with forwarding the letter(s) ASAP via the city mail system to the Office of the Superintendent of Police. Information will be culled from the letters by personnel of the Office of the Superintendent-Unit 111 and information will be forwarded, as appropriate. TD 9.5 and G-MACK want the envelopes sealed so the thugs, rapists and gang-bangers will be prevented from reading the letters previous to the letters being harvested by a passing city employee.
Dont go reaching into those boxes. I'm sure that there might be people who know police will be checking those things and might leave a surprise.
Problem is, people believe it was implemented because it was plastered all over the front page of the papers.
Like so many other 'initiatives', it exists only in the Twilight Zone, not in reality.

Knowing the inner city "subculture" and unless McStreetLights was on a bender, I can't believe he actually came up with this clueless idea of "snitch boxes" on his own. While he signed on to this desperate brainstorm, no police officers who have worked the streets of a 007 or 011 (or the Bronx) could be that delusional.
Identify the idiot staff member who came up with this folly. This person has truly earned the career-long insulting nickname of "snitch box".

I don't feel sorry for you.
Snitch box = me snitching on the 2nd Watch DSS in 011 who is and has created a hostile work environment by either being up to a half a tour late or not even coming into work, yet telling people how they have "no activity". Then again, this really means nothing because of the "Code of Silence" that the DC and others provide the 2nd Watch DSS with which help enable him to come to work late if at all.
It's insulting to call people snitches when they live in violent ghettos and still come forward to stop crime.
With over 8,000 views on THEE RANT, our NYPD buddies got plenty of laughs out of the "snitch boxes" debacle.

Lt on 1st watch in 017 always late too & he never misses an opportunity to get a slip from po's that are late. Not to mention that he doesn't wear a uniform till half the nights over but that could be because he grown out of it.

What ever happened to the chain of command? When I came on the job you didn't even look at the lt., and tried to stay out of the sgt's way! If you talked to the lt., he usually yelled at you for daring to talk to him!

Is this the same guy who wrote that letter a couple of years ago?
Another example of the department covering their ass while holding ours over the fire or throwing ours under the bus.
My kid's are all grown now...but they were the best sniches ever...piss one off & they talk & tell!!! We can laugh about it now!!!!
I believe Elaine Bennis came up with the idea right after she thought that all city residents should wear name tags so everyone can say hello to one another.
That's nothing 014thdistrict lieutenant DH comes in late everyday and leave early she's supposed to be the field lt but never goes out on the streetshe usually gets to work 5 530 and she's gone by 10 1030 and she supposed to be at work till 12 a.m. while also making everyone on 3rd watch miserable

It's a tough call; you file a complaint on it, you get stuck with her stellar personality a few extra hours a day. Not sure it's worth it. People are relieved when she's not around.
