RIP Officer Sean Collier

  • Last night around 10:30pm, MIT Police Officer Sean Collier was killed when he responded to a disturbance on campus. Today, co-workers and friends have praised Sean for his kindness, good humor and courage.

Collier's roommate, who trained with him at the police academy, described him as “the guy who went to help” and faulted him for being too brave. He summed up last night's events in a tearful interview with the Boston Globe, “The best guy got shot down by the biggest scumbags.”
Godspeed Officer Collier. And God bless all the first responders who were a credit to their professions once again under circumstances that would break and shatter those who are so quick to criticize in other events.

RIP Officer... You look just like a kid. I only wish you had more time OTJ to grow old, raise a family and, hopefully, one day draw from your pension.

It's already started among the galatically opressed society in which I throw shoes at and fart in the general direction of.

They're saying the young cowaedly fellow Chechnickins have been framed and it's just a coincidence that one of them is photographed with a backpack and then without a photograh right in the proximity of 8 year-old Michael Richards who was blown to smithereens and identified by Jeff Bauman who had both legs blown off by the cowardly terrorist who worships "The religion of peace" as in if you don't believe in their religion they will blow you to pieces.

The guys throwing grenades or whatever from the fleeing car, the guys who shot and killed young Officer Collier? They were just Dopplehangers of the two Chechen's who never turned themselves in to the police.

Nope they was framed.

Sick thing is people belive that brainwashing.

People like POTUS.

In an otherwise stellar example of law enforcement cooperation, one officer lost, another still fighting for his life. Well done, officers. You and your comrades made us all, active and retired, proud. 10-42. RIP P/O Collier.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Collier, the people killed and injured at the parade, and all the families affected by this tragic event.

May you rest in peace knowing that the mission was accomplished with the death of one of the TERRORISTS and the capture of the other. Godspeed my brother LEO.

And even though many people have suffered due to these savages heinous acts, I want to give a shout out to every first responder involved in this incident. You have all acted heroically and have made every AMERICAN proud!

It brought me to tears watching the public come out and praise all the first responders leaving the scene post incident. I'm sure we would have got the same response in this shithole? PROBABLY NOT!

Once again, we have shown the world and these terrorist savages why we are the greatest nation on this planet!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Hey SCC and all CPD. Don't know if you saw the TV coverage yesterday after the boat standoff ended with suspect 2 taken into custody. Residents cheered and applauded each police and other first responder vehicle as they left the scene.

I want you to understand, most of us feel that way. We just don't happen to be present in crowds on the scene when you do what needs doing. Maybe it's the other sort, if any, who are standing around, but we actually outnumber them, even if it may not seem that way to you.

Where are the Muslim leaders who should denounce these horrible acts done by self-avowed Muslims? Like "The Good Reverend" (wink wink) Jesse Jackson when it's black on white crime, they are conspicuously absent when events occur that should evoke outrage and provide a chance to convince the world they too find them deplorable and not representative of the attitudes of their entire "flock". The silence is deafening.

Someone killed a policeman today
And a part of America died...
And a piece of our country which he swore to protect
Will be buried with him at his side.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield too,
Just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court
With counsel demanding his rights,
While a young, widowed mother must work hard for kids
And spend many long, lonely nights.
Yes, someone killed a policeman today,
Maybe in your hometown or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors
A cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks the beat on a dark city street
And he stands by each new rookies side.
He answered the call, of himself gave his all
And a Part of America Died!

Yeah - he was framed. If he was innocent - why did he return gunfire to the police chasing him???

Scary thing is not Dzhokhar - but all those who think he is being set up and framed. What dope are these people smoking??

As to Officer Collier - RIP. "Just going out on a routine patrol that night."

He may have stopped them long enough for everyone else to catch up on them. Only God knows.

MIT should name a building after him as he gave them all he had and all he would ever have.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

.....You can sleep Officer Collier, we will not break the faith.

I attended the memorial at MIT. Saw a few of you CPD there as well. I can say that in my 16 years this was by far the largest police memorial/funeral I have seen. The MIT community really stepped up,and did this mans memory proud.

There was a quite in the MIT paper by a student that said something like: " He loved us, and we loved him".

They held a beer, his Mass card, and a stool, at an on campus pub. The students really loved this kid. He joined their clubs, hung with them, became part of he community. What a shame.

I grew up in the area and can tell you the colleges are not always cop friendly. The MIT Chief is a former Colonel of the Mass State Police and has built the PD into a real, professional PD.
