Lisa's Baggage Comes Home to Roost

  • Attorney General Lisa Madigan on Monday announced she would seek a fourth term in office, ending months of speculation about whether she would seek to challenge Gov. Pat Quinn in the Democratic primary.

The Democratic attorney general cited her father, powerful House Speaker Michael Madigan, as a main reason for not seeking the governor's office.

"I considered running for governor because of the need for effective management from that office and the frustration so many of us feel about the current lack of progress on critical issues facing Illinois," Madigan said in a statement. "Ultimately, however, there has always been another consideration that impacts my decision. I feel strongly that the state would not be well served by having a governor and speaker of the House from the same family and have never planned to run for governor if that would be the case. With Speaker Madigan planning to continue in office, I will not run for governor."
Bill Daley was seen giggling. So was Quinn.

"I feel strongly that the state would not be well served by having a governor and speaker of the House from the same family..."

But having a speaker of the house and an attorney general from the same family is OK? Well, Lisa? Is it OK when you really need to prosecute the speaker of the house for corruption?

She's sitting on her board, out beyond the breakers letting a small wave or two to go by, until she sees one she thinks is worth riding. How about Senator Madigan.

Maybe she finally realized she’s not up to the task.

She says she “considered running for Governor because of the need for effective management from that office,” but her own office is a mess. Low information voters keep saying what a great job she does as Attorney General when she’s developing a reputation for tactfully dodging the investigation and prosecution of corrupt politicians. And look at this figure cited by her own office on p.10 here:
http://www.state.il.us/ilrb/subsections/pdfs/arbitrationawards/Illinois%20Attorney%20General%20&%20FOP,%20S-MA-11-345.PDF

A 45% turnover rate for attorneys in 2 years would be astonishing under a great economy when public sector attorneys would move on to private firms, but in a down economy where lawyers are begging for jobs this figure is a scandal. What the hell is going on in that place?

And how does she deal with her labor problems? Gets her dad to push a law that prevents the remaining part of her work force from unionizing:

“Effective management.” Yeah.

Lil Madigan "chose" to stay Attny General because she was TOLD to stay Attny General.

Pure and simple.

She's not smart enough to know what's good for the Democratic Machine.

In my humble opinion, Mike and baby daughter Lisa talked it over and decided the following:

1) ... Lisa is much more valuable as AG because she can cover up, or not investigate entirely, daddy Mike's involvement in the Metra Railroad political influence scandal.

2) ... The Daley Crime Family has already laid claim to the Governor's mansion, with Obama's blessing, in order to plunder the nearly empty coffers of the State of Illinois, AND to make sure that a Chicago casino gets set up, once and for all, to be run by the people with the right connections. Those people will make sure that THEY get a 'taste' of the MILLION$ in revenue and that nobody gets some kind of goofy idea to use the casino money to help solve the municipal employee pension crisis.

3) ... With the sad state of affairs in Illinois, Mike and baby daughter Lisa have decided that she would be much more appropriate as a U.S. Senator from Illinois rather than the Governor. Perhaps she'll run against Mark Kirk, the RINO who is supporting the traitorous Immigration bill in Congress? There are also rumors that Dick Durbin could be named by Obama to be the new head of Homeland Security replacing Janet Napolitano. Lisa could then be handed THAT spot to finish the remaining term and be the incumbent in future elections.

Hmmmm! So much to do, so little time.

So Mikey is thinking he's going to need serious protection from state level legal issues.....

Or possibly Lisa/Mike see that IL is absolutely fucked and putting their name on the bow of this sinking ship is a "Really Bad Idea"(TM)

Maybe both?

That's my take.

She will be handed Durbin's seat when he suddenly steps down, you heard it here first.

Poor little Lisa (sniffle-sniffle). I bet this is the first time in her life she didn't get what she wanted from daddy. Now he has to do something to console her feelings. He can't have her crying herself to sleep every night, can he?

No, that would be cruel (sniffle). Lisa 'deserves something' for having to live with the terrible burden of being a Madigan -- My guess is that Mikey will now buy his little darling a new Jaguar.

Beemers are soooo 2011. (rotflmao)

My sentiments exactly.

Durbin won't step down to be DHS Secretary. That's a job with very little upside and way more work than that of a senior Senator. Obama will appoint Lisa US Attorney for Northern Illinois. That insulates the Combine from Federal prosecution. Even if Durbin steps down, there's no guarantee that Quinn wouldn't appoint himself or Sheila Simon as Senator. The Combine can't have that. The biggest influence is Billy Daley because he is the anointed one.

She is his step daughter, has her own father somewhere. Not sure if at one point she even took Madigan as her lawful name. She didn't loose it when she married either.

Great, now to just make sure that Hello wins the primary. What this state needs is a Republican Governor...if only to break the one-party dictatorship.

Lisa NEVER INTENDED to run for governor. Lisa wants to be the first female President, and she will do that by first being a U.S. Senator. The Media tries to be polite, but the reality is KIRK IS IN NO CONDITION PHYSICALLY OR MENTALLY TO RUN FOR A SECOND TERM. Remember, the barely won the first term and that was against an opponent who bankrupted his own bank! Lisa will take Kirk's Senate Seat, by the time of that election her dad's issues will be resolved and Kirk will be vulnerable on immigration. And if she becomes President, she will make Obama look like a Republican Conservative.

Anyone see that the state came up with $35 million to pay for advertising for the states new insurance exchange? Where did they get that money? Think Lisa's daddy will let her investigate where the money came from and who's company is getting it??????

US Government Checks and Balances.

Dad is the speaking daughter is the attorney general..etc..etc.. power being passed down though the connected families decade after decade because people recognize the names.

We should just call them like King Daley I and King Daley II. How long are we going to let it go? There was a Henry VIII and King Louie the XV but not in Chicago (that we know of ha)

Aldermen Mell is next up, waiting for Rahm to keep it in the family so that there will be favors being needed in return.

Naw man this isn't a democracy. It's an eff-ing joke

"The Family Tree of Chicago Political Fuckery"

Bunch of dirty, thieving, unwashed pricks were the ruination of this city.

PUBLIC THAT FUNKY SHIT AGAIN KASS!

This time with recent updates and pictures of these assholes...

Slightly O/T:

Scum-Times online was updated recently...

Saw a thumbnail of Frannie "no panty" Spielman attached to an article.

Hidden behind a pay wall of course... We reckon even a heartless wretch like her has feelings... Or this is in line with the new editorial policy of hiding information and stifling public input/discussion. Public right to know be damned... "The best news you can get for a price."

Now... Based on what our 50+ eyes saw, she looks like she's a devotee of the Pam Zekman School of Difficult Beauty.

What the fuck is up with these vile, shriveled, undersized, ersatz red-haired bobble-heads shilling for the ministry of propaganda?

Senators rarely become President, so that's not going to work. Having her as AG is not as much as a conflict as her being Governor. If Mike M is indicted, it will be in federal court, not state.

Mike needs to retire so she can be Governor. I think she would be a good one.

I don't get how so many CPD people are so right wing. I just don't get it.
