Zimmerman Not Guilty

Florida is a tinderbox looking for a spark.

May St. Jude look out for all first responders tonight and in the upcoming days and nights.

At last check, Chicago has exactly no response plan in effect tonight.

Chicago better stay quiet on this. Riots? I don't think so.

This was a trumped up case and what it did was keep the media spotlight off of all the other REAL scandals people should be getting more information on.

What about Benghazi? The IRS? NSA?

Too much media was spent on this case so that they would not have time to focus on the real travesties that people should be outraged on.

Next case - next scandal.

No Riots, no power.

Maybe no power anyway.

If Bammy denounces the verdict, then that's the Greenlight BTW.

The guilt of any riots lay on the Media and the National Govt, which has been trying to stroke riots, but strangely no one seems motivated.

Too much chronic perhaps.

Now, only Zimmerman knows what actually went down in the confrontation, but do the police really want neighborhood Batman wannabes like Zimmerman shooting unarmed people just 'cause they don't like the look of them? How is that a good thing for police?

Zimmerman should go after NBC for the doctoring of the tape and make a example of them. (Remember the infamous Chevrolet/GMC truck explosion?) And if possible, use United States Code, Title 42, Section 1983 after the Sanford Police, and Angela Correy and the prosecutors. By the time Zimmerman and his lawyers get thru with them, Zimmerman will be a very comfortable man........

Remember the OJ Simpson verdict? The animals were jumping in the streets all across the country like OJ getting away with a cold blooded murder was some sort of racial wide justice moment for black people all over.

That verdict was sickening and I never heard from one black person who decried that verdict. It was simply a way of keeping score, like a "that's one for us." OJ slaughtering those two people was somehow a blow for civil rights and black freedom. I never forgot that moment and lost what little respect I had for black civil rights. That was also the first time I heard the expression "playing the race card" and wow, did they play that up.

The difference here is the law was with Zimmerman. He could have stayed inside but once out there he had a right to defend himself. I just think of all those people injured for no reason but to go on some sick black beat down video.

Zimmerman is not in a position to be charged with civil rights violations. Not a cop. Didn't outright kill anyone, this jury found self defense. This trial could be used as evidence in any other proceeding. Self defense. Only thing possible here might be if the State appeals.

Only one race made this racial. This is the same race that uses race to acheive their means every time. Sad part is this had nothing to do with race and Zimmerman was not even white(the most hated race.) This was about right and wrong and the jury agreed. Moral to the story....Don't beat a man to the ground and continue beating him. He may be carrying a gun legally. I can bet Zimmerman would have helped Martin if he were being beaten by another person.

Hopefully the next Cardinal here will finally shitcan Phleger. I recall when Phleger was marching in neighborhoods all over the city demanding sellers of hookahs and rolling papers be arrested for drug paraphernalia. At first blush, Skittles and AZ Iced Tea seem harmless enough. But they're actually mixed with a cough medicine to make an intoxicating drink. Text messages sent by Travon revealed he had gotten or was trying to get the cough medicine...

The kid was trouble - recently suspended from school for having jewelry and a screwdriver in his backpack, along with some amount of Pot. He was in other trouble too.

There was a bunch of crimes going on in the area, Zimmerman was a Neighborhood Watch Volunteer and he saw some kid that he hadn't seen before.

So he followed to see what the deal was. He got attacked by this "harmless" kid - the kid punched Zimmerman in the nose, got on top of zimmerman and started smashing his head into the ground.

Zimmerman shot his attacker to stop the attack. Exactly as it should have been.

That should have been the end of it, except that the race baiters in this Country, fed by an Administration desperate to deflect from the scandal of Fast and Furious, etc. al, couldn't let such an opportunity go to waste so they spun up he Lamestream Media and put up the 8th grade cherub photo of Travon to engender sympathy...

Once the truth started coming out - Doctored 911 calls on the news, Travon's texts, Travon's facebook pages, Travon w/a "grill", Travon flashing gang signs and large amounts of cash, Travon pictured smoking dope, and on and on - it was clear that this is all a bunch of bullshit.

Fortunately the Jury did the right thing. If the Feds try to charge Travon, it's IMPEACHMENT TIME for all involved because they're a bunch of lying sacks of shit who are trying to keep up the deflection from their own criminal and unconstitutional acts.

We don't need riots for Travon, we need bills of impeachment of the traitorous scum who have wormed their way into office.

Correct - he has to be a gov't employee, officer, agent or contractor. Even under the Civil Rights Act he has to be a business or other institution. There could be civil liability, but given the acquittal, I don't find that likely even with the lower burden of proof.

TO: but do the police really want neighborhood Batman wannabes like Zimmerman shooting unarmed people just 'cause they don't like the look of them? How is that a good thing for police?

Get a hold of your emotions - and look at the evidence in the case.
Zimmerman's injuries were consistent with someone getting pummeled in the face and having their head bashed against the concrete. Zimmerman had no injuries to his hands. Other than the gunshot wound to the chest (not the back as first reported by some in the media), Travon only had injuries to his knuckles, which would be consistent with attacking Zimmerman. The evidence is consistent with self defense. We will never know what really happened. What we do know is there is no evidence supporting that Zimmerman shot him because "he didn't like the look of him." You are speculating and have no basis of fact.
The entire incident is tragic enough, don't turn it into a travesty of justice.
Sadly, there was never any evidence that justified charging Zimmerman, as demonstrated by the prosecution not even coming close to proving their case.

Based upon the evidence presented at trial, I feel that the jury reached the correct verdict. The prosecution should never have been undertaken in the first instance. The original police investigation that determined that this was a case of justifiable homocide as an act of self defense should have been respected. Outside agitators, including Obama's Department of Justice, stirred the pot and played the race card and subjected the country to a show trial. They forgot to obtain evidence that would establish proof of Zimmerman's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Over and above the beating that Martin administered to Zimmerman (the broken nose, the lacerations and the bloody lips), what was the turning point for me was learning that Martin actually reached the house where he was staying, but turned back and went down the block to attack Zimmerman. We will never know if his girlfriend urged him to do so, but her demeanor made me wonder.

I pray that civil sanity can be maintained in the aftermath of the verdict, but the prosecutors never had a case other than the race card. The rapidity of the jury deliberations make me think that the jurors did not believe much of the prosecution's case in chief.

Horseshit, he had the right to follow and challenge anyone in that neighborhood. He didn't draw his weapon. He called the police and Martin could've ran about 100 yds. to his father's place. Instead, Martin stayed, confronted and assaulted Zimmerman.

It's too bad it happened but Zimmerman's history shows no evidence of him being racist or any criminal record.
It was a case that should never have been prosecuted. Thank God the jurors followed the law and actually deliberated-unlike the clowns in the OJ case.

Just to correct a few errors in law being suggested by a few posters here: First, the state cannot appeal a not guilty verdict. Second, Zimmerman will be toast in a civil trial -- a civil trial only has a "preponderance of the evidence" burden of proof, not "beyond a reasonable doubt," and in a civil trial he will be compelled to testify. Since he has already been found not guilty in the criminal case, he won't even be able to assert any 5th Amendment rights, because they are irrelevant and moot. All of Zimmerman's conflicting, nonsensical claims about the confrontation -- from the non-existent bushes, to the ridiculous claim that he got out of his car only to look at the street signs in his own, tiny neighborhood, to the completely different versions he told police on the night of the incident, in his Fox interview, and as presented in his defense at trial -- will all be fair game for questioning him on the stand.

10:15p.m., "the kid" was not a wannabe thug, he was a thug. What part of gated community don't you get? "the kid" (and one big ass kid at that) had no business on the property, he was not stalked, he was watched, thats what a neighborhood watch does. There was a neighborhood watch because of little assholes like him. "the kid" knew he had no business but there, it is obvious he was scouting the area for victims. Probably where the jewelry he was caught with earlier came from. U should concern yourself with 5 and 7 year olds getting shot, at neighborhood parks, by thugs who need more than being watched. Or 8 year olds that turn up dead, and noone knows or cares about that kid. If "the kid" was shot by a black anything you would not be concerned about "the kid".

Totally agree. Zimmerman is a wannabe cop that luckily every department he's applied to has seen is a nutso. Giving him complete credit on his story (which is holey as hell), he still stalked a kid and provoked a confrontation.

He followed a "suspicious person" that had not just committed a crime, was not in the process of committing a crime, or found to be about to commit a crime... while armed. Zimmerman followed Treyvon, then Treyvon confronted and attacked Zimmerman. Get your facts straight.

Zimmerman had every right to be out on that street. Zimmerman was not breaking any laws while following and observing Martin. If Martin would have kept walking instead of trying to Keep it Real then he would still be alive. Zimmerman was railroaded starting with a biased media that published photo's of Zimmerman that were touched up to eliminate the laceration on the back of his head all the way to the prosecution who sought charges only because of the exaggerated media attention.

Thank God the jury got it right. Do you get involved when your neighborhood is going to shit and loitering, pot-smoking thugs start to act like your block belongs to them ?
When you see a pattern and people actually get together and instead of silly vigils and marches they ask, "who's willing to do something?" Will you be willing to drive around keeping a watchful eye out for your neighbors when the police remind you that they can't be everywhere?
I'm tired of hearing how Zimmerman is a 'wannabe.'

Every block on the south and west side has those pathetic wooden painted homemade signs on the corner that so-called block watch clubs wish would deter the criminal activity. People have a right to stand up and confront a hoody wearing stranger out in the rain wandering around who doesn't appear to reside there so that the next robbery or burglary might be prevented. All that should happen when civilised people are confronted is a reasonable explanation, no hard feelings, you get over your insult and you go on living.

But if you were neglected, your home training and schooling stopped being a priority, and the only thing you bothered doing with your time is smoking weed, getting into fights and getting suspended over and over from school and finally pissing off your mother enough that she ships you off to daddy's house, where he proceeds to put you up at aunty's house so he and his girlfriend don't have to deal with you... then you can expect that someone like that will get what they deserve. Unless they live in Chicago. Here, they roam in packs of 10 to 40 undeterred and unencumbered by any regard for the law or your expectation of decency.

Interesting and his lawyers made two other points. They are going back to court to get paid by the state for representing him. Unusual but maybe in Florida is you are not guilty you have the state pay your lawyers??? and second thing when asked about the civil lawsuit against Zimmerman he said they were going back to court and asking for immunity that they would most certainly get. Maybe a nother Florida law. Makes sense in a way if your not guilty how are you guilty in a civil lawsuit.
I understand about the different preponderance of the evidence in criminal and civil trials, but he seemed confident and made the statement about immunity

film footage outside courthouse looks like trouble, waving around bags of skittles and cans of iced tea demanding justice

7/13/2013 09:25:00 PM

7/13/2013 10:38:00 PM

The difference between me and you is I'm black... and I don't know one black person who actually believed he was innocent. I also don't know one black person that likes him. You're right that it was a low point for us and really a depressing point where we are so accustomed to watching people who should be convicted go free, and people who are innocent get slammed that we were just happy to see somebody get off. It's been more than made up for since then. Just like no one remembers the white beat down videos which I actually saw first. In college my roommate would get drunk and watch a video of white guys beating up random homeless people. I couldn't believe it.

What an idiotic response. So you disagree with someone and the best response you have is "oh you are a Democrat".

Zimmerman brought all of this shit on himself. He has no one to blame but himself. He did his job as a watch captain. He called 911. But no, he went out and started following Martin. Let's face it, he had a gun on him and so he had big balls. He was getting his ass kicked so he shot the young thug.

I hope he gets sued. Because if you look at his past history, Zimmerman is a piece of shit too. He likes to fight the police, beat on his girlfriends and was fired from two security jobs for being too physical. In other words, he is just as big a piece of shit as Trayvon Martin.

State can not appeal - double jeopardy. Zimmerman also is absolved of any cival rights action as he was deemed by a jury of his peers as 'not guilty'.

Many want to say Zimmerman stalked Martin. Does not matter. Law requires that deadly force is justified and excusable if at the moment of the use of such force is necessary to prevent great bodily harm or death.

Justice was served.

You need to look up the definition of stalking. Using the facts presented by either side, Zimmerman clearly did not stalk Martin. You think that when Martin punched Zimmerman, knocked him to the ground, then got on top of him and started beating him he was "doing nothing wrong"?

Beautiful! Mary Mitchell recycles most of the Reverend Al Sharpton narrative "racial profiling" crap in describing the acquittal of "the White Hispanic" George Zimmerman for the murder of Travon Martin.

Oddly enough, Mitchell makes an appeal for calm so as not to disrespect the memory of Martin. She also concludes that justice was served despite the not guilty verdict because the case caused us to examine our own biases and the evil of racial profiling. What a crock!

True to form, Mitchell omits any meaningful reference to facts that support Zimmerman's successful defense such as Martin attacking the neighborhood watch volunteer and subjecting him to grievous bodily harm before the shooting stopped the beating.

A more compelling account can be found on Breitbart: a cynical and dishonest politician seeking reelection, a group of race hustlers and the mainstream media pressured the local police and prosecutors and repeatedly distorted the truth and libelled Zimmerman for their own personal gain. Obama needed Florida, so he manufactured the story of a street thug being a martyr for the civil rights movement. The role of the administration and the media were and are truly shameful.

My understanding is that a civil rights actions can only be brought against a private individual if he is acting as an agent of a state or local government. Also, any alleged civil rights violation cannot be based an accidental or negligent violation of rights. In this case, GZ was not acting as an agent of a state or local government, therefore, he cannot be sued under the Federal (1983) statute. He was also acting in self-defense which is a total and global defense, probably even to a civil rights claim in the unlikely event one was even brought.

The State of Florida cannot appeal an acquittal - it's not allowed.

Glee? Because an innocent man was the victim of a liberal and politcally motivated witch hunt and he prevailed.

Police stalking? To non-Lib-Tards that means investigation/pursuit/arrest

Trayvon + wannabe thug? Partly right, but I submit he was an actual thug

GZ stalking? GZ had every right to follow Trayvon - his "following" was not illegal.

GZ a wannabe cop? Since when is it wrong to have life goals or a desire to be a cop or prosecutor?

GZ killed the thug because the thug brutally attacked him. Trayvon had absolutely no legal justification for punching and beating GZ and, according to the jury, GZ was well within his rights to dispatch the hoodlum.

Simply put, Lib-Tards spout off with emotion, race-baiting and innacuracies. Facts always win out in the end and the only fact that really matters is "NOT GUILTY"

White people aren't killing black people, black people are killing black people, therefore it's of no value to the revruns to go there. But a semi-white guy shoots one, mind you one, black thug in training, and there's all this outrage. Maybe the revruns should start being outraged about what's going on in their own back yards.

NAACP is hollering about how black "parents" will have to start teach their kids not to walk around in hoodies with their hands in their pockets.

Damn right--cuz most white kids aren't walking around for one, looking like thugs, and number two, wearing clothing that hides their identity by covering their head/face. Or walking around with their hands in their pockets acting like they've got a gun in order to intimidate people.

All Zimmerman was trying to do was address someone who looked suspicious to him. And damn straight, when someone is trying to hide their identity, and has the demeanor of a thug, well, maybe you SHOULD think about how you dress comes across when you're out in the world.

Or better yet, how everybody in the ghetto dresses in the same clothes, like white t-shirts and baggy jeans, or whatever the uniform of the day is, so that EVERYBODY looks alike, making it harder for witnesses and police to identify criminals.

You're delusional. There was no evidence to support a charge in the first place, especially not for second degree murder. Manslaughter, maybe. Color had nothing to do with the verdict. This was simply a case of the media turning this into a racial incident.

He was probably irritated Zimmerman dared to question him and figured he could 'take' this white cracker, tried to do so, and got his ass killed.

The reverend Jackson was on WBBM at 11pm Saturday in a phone interview. He's bringing up the shootings of blacks by the police. It's unfair that 97% of the 57 people the police shot are black.

7/13/2013 11:03:00 PM

Unfair? I think it's unfair that 57 thugs were out there and put police in the position of having to use deadly force. Jackass uses such convoluted logic it gives me a headache.

How many of those 57 had guns and had just committed, or were about to commit, a serious crime, or unlawfully carried a gun before they pointed it at police and got capped? Did Jackass mention any of that?

Did Jackass mention anything about how many people in the ghetto have FOID cards as opposed to those in, oh, let's say, the 16th Dist.? Did he mention how many guns are recovered in the ghetto? Police shoot thugs with guns, whether it's in the ghetto or 16. When you're involved in a situation where you have to use deadly force, I'm sure you're not thinking about what color the guy with the gun is. Luckily I've not been in that situation (at least yet) in my career.

He was shot after Zimmerman feared for his life while Trayvon was sitting on top of him, breaking his nose by pounding his face and giving him multiple head injuries by banging his head on the ground.

Stalked? I've been the police a long, long time, and I've never once handled nor heard of a stalker calling the police and saying, "Hey, just wanted to let you know I'm following (fill in the blank).

Not one person said they heard Zimmerman use any racial slurs, yet it's o.k. for Trayvon to call Zimmerman a cracker?

Confronted him? Since when is it confrontational, if you are on neighborhood watch, to ask what someone you don't recognize is doing there? A simple answer, maybe like, "I'm visiting my dad, he lives in unit # xyz" is too much to ask?

You are beyond stupid. In fact, you make stupid look smart.

Zimmerman should be a lesson and Warning: All Prosecutions are Selective, and the more Political and Racial, the more likely they will be carried out. Zimmerman should Never have been charged, and the Chief who was fired for not going along with a prosecution knew it. Zimmerman was free for over 40 days before being charged. Mark my words, the Media and Politicians are looking for the next scapegoat to surface and it will be some poor mope who has a permit to carry. Buy Insurance if You Intend to Carry. Remember, Trayvon's family got over one million dollars from the Homeowners Assoc. insurance in this matter."G"

I would have thought more cops would have thought the same thing. If it was two black people or two white people, pretty much no question of racial tension, he would have been convicted. Don't matter if Martin was a thug or Zim was a choir boy. Only thing that mattered is what happened that night. He followed a "suspicious person" that had not just committed a crime, was not in the process of committing a crime, or found to be about to commit a crime... while armed. We get sued and get otherwise good cases thrown out for the same.

7/14/2013 02:10:00 AM

My God, I hope you are not a 'cop', since you have no idea what you're talking about and seem to not understand the difference between acting as a LEO and as a civilian. There is no law that says a civilian cannot follow another person (don't even get into the stalking law). There is no law that says a civilian cannot stereotype, when assessing suspicious activity. In Fla., and soon to be here, there is CCW, therefore makes no difference if Zimmerman was armed, he had every right to be. The actions of Trayvon walking between homes and not on the walking path is enough to raise suspicion, therefore as a neighborhood watch or any civilian, they can and SHOULD 'keep an eye ' on that person, to make sure they are up to no good.
As for the "child" (bullshit) Trayvon situation , even if you feel you are being followed, you have no right to physically confront that person.
And let's get one thing straight, George Zimmerman was not too far off in his assumptions. Trayvon is a thug, who had previously been involved in burglaries and violent acts. (Attacked a bus driver, caught with stolen jewelry from a residence, evicted from school, etc). If you saw the tape of Trayvon at the mart where he purchased his "skittles an Arizona tea" you will see a clerk who also felt there was something suspicious about Trayvon, in the way he carried himself.

Geesh, I cannot believe what crap CPD hires these days. Frickin' moron.

You make sense and I have to agree with you. The anger of the moment after hearing the O.J verdict has long subsided but the bitter pill of watching people celebrate an injustice is remembered. Agreed, one injustice doesn't wipe out another. We are supposed to be better than that in this country. Only Zimmerman and O.J. know what really happened out there. I was on the job when punks murdered a homeless guy on lower Wacker by shooting him with a bow and arrow. That doesn't make any more sense than a nutcase like Derrick King beating random women senseless on the street.

Stay safe.

The verdict in this case shows that America is ever so slowly growing up. White guilt will diminish as America "Browns". Hard as they tried, the Media could not make Zimmerman White. He acted "White" and sounded White but he was not White, and Latinos who themselves have been the victims of discrimination are not riddled with White Guilt. Nor are Floridians too young to remember Separate bathrooms and drinking fountains. Trayvon was a young thug, who lived in a culture where violence and bullying is accepted, Thug Life. His culture clashed with a God Fearing Brown Hillbilly and the result was this case. Playing the Race Card took a hit with this verdict.Baby "G"

Zimmerman is no hero to me, the democrat voted for BO twice. That alone should preclude him from ever being a po-leece.

Reverse-racism is why. If Tray the thug had just gone home and not returned to do a beat down on the "creepy ass cracker", he would be alive today and black people as a monolith just do not like the fact that a man perceived as white protected himself and prevailed.

You mention your roommate and watching videos. What does that have to do with this case? Nothing. It is a smoke screen.

Instead, why didn't you mention the hundreds of black on black homicides in your community that go ignored by the race baiters Jackson, Sharpton, Phleger, Jealous and on and on? Need this statute in Illinois;

Florida Laws: FL Statutes - Title XLVI Crimes Section 776.012 Use of force in defense of person.

776.032 Immunity from criminal prosecution and civil action for justifiable use of force.—

(1) A person who uses force as permitted in s. 776.012, s. 776.013, or s. 776.031 is justified in using such force and is immune from criminal prosecution and civil action for the use of such force, unless the person against whom force was used is a law enforcement officer, as defined in s. 943.10(14), who was acting in the performance of his or her official duties and the officer identified himself or herself in accordance with any applicable law or the person using force knew or reasonably should have known that the person was a law enforcement officer. As used in this subsection, the term "criminal prosecution" includes arresting, detaining in custody, and charging or prosecuting the defendant.

7/14/2013 07:24:00 AM

If a court acquits the defendant, the prosecutor may not appeal the verdict. Appealing a verdict of "not guilty" would violate the Double Jeopardy Clause of the Fifth Amendment. Prosecutors may, however, appeal all pre-trial rulings and decisions regarding the admissibility of evidence at trial. Or, if they can prove jury misconduct, tampering, perjury etc. All unlikely.

Zimmerman did not intend to kill Martin. Zimmerman made a VERY BAD decision to get out of the car when he knew police were on the way and there was no immediate danger to himself or another person. Zimmerman's act of getting out of the car and following/looking for Martin was NOT unlawful, but it was a BAD decision considering the known circumstances. Zimmerman placed himself in a position to allow Martin to become the aggressor. Once Martin became the aggressor, Zimmerman had a right to defend himself. People die from punches to the head and face and also when their heads strike concrete. Look at the case of Richard Vanecko who punched David Koschman in the face one time, causing Koschman to fall and strike his head against the concrete near Rush and Divison, causing Koschman's death.

So, was Zimmerman looking to kill someone? No. Was Zimmerman trying to be a vigilante? No. Was Zimmerman acting like an overzealous concerned citizen in his community that has suffered from burglaries and a home invasion? Yes. Should Zimmerman have stayed in his car and let the police handle his call? YES. Did Martin have a right to walk in that community with an expectation that he would be followed by a stranger? Yes. Was Martin doing anything wrong when Zimmerman saw him and called the police? No. Did Zimmerman have a right to use deadly force and shoot Martin who punched him in the face, knocked him to the ground, straddled him, and slammed his head into the concrete, even if it were only once? Absolutely. Is Martin's death a tragedy? Again, the answer is absolutely.

Oh, and by the way, now prosecute Martin's daddy for PERJURY for lying on the stand under oath!!!

I agree. What a liar! But "they" will write it off to him being in shock when he said it was not his son yelling for help.

And, will there be a fight between Traygon's divorced parents over the 500K from the homeowner's association? It will be interesting.

RACE RACE RACE RACE RACE RACE RACE

it's the fucking 21st Century.

Where are all you assholes, who bemoan the death of Trayvon Martin when one black kills another black. Not worth your time?

You motherfuckers never have shit to say about the death of one black man at the hands of another and it happens ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

You only give a shit when a white person kills a black person. Then the systems broken and there's a need for another civil rights movement.

Do you have any idea the number of black males who are never charged for the killing of another black male? It's in the thousands.

No marches. No sharpton or Jackson. No CNN, MSNBC, no phleger.

You liberals and blacks are so fucking out of touch yet you scream that whites don't understand. You only choose to understand when you want to.

Get out of the '40s, 50's and 60's.

Everyone else has.

Instead of making the statement about one black youth named Treyvon Martin, how about saying one American youth named Treyvon Martin. We are Americans. If you want to throw the race card then say he was killed by a Hispanic. Furthermore, what about all the American kids being killed on the South and West side of Chicago. Where's the outrage. The Black community should focus on its youth cause there is more Black kids dying from other Black kids then from white or Hispanic Kids. Get your act together and stop listening to the likes of Jessie Jackson and Rev Al Sharpton. You have bigger problems then the Trevon Martin Case.

7/14/2013 02:15:00 PM

Best post. 70 Black people shot and 13 Black people killed over the 4 th of July weekend. Your right the white people are to blame. It's time for the white people to start rioting and burning and looting.

I'm listening to WGN radio this morning and the radio guy is Dean Richards. The topic is this case and he and some expert are talking about the jury (6 white women). Richards says that there should have been more diversity on the jury, that if perhaps there was a black person, that that person would know what it's like to be profiled, or stopped for driving while black. He says like when a black man gets on an elevator, any women on the elevator instinctively pull their purses closer because they think all black men are robbers. Richards says that if such a woman was on the jury, or a black person who might have been profiled in the past, the outcome might have been different.

Does this jag bag know that juries are supposed to decide things on the facts as presented? They are not supposed to vote guilty because they got stopped in the past. "I'm going to find this guy guilty because a white cop stopped me two years ago". Hey Dean, it's this case, not some old shit from your past.

As far as the makeup of the jury? The lawyers on both sides get challenges, some of which they can use without an explanation. The jury pool comes in, questions are asked and either side can say no. So if the prosecution fucked up the jury selection process (and I'm not saying they did), then that's the way it goes. Maybe these 6 women were the only ones in the pool that said they could decide on THESE FACTS ALONE.

So to the Dean Richards types in the world who would advocate stacked juries? It doesn't work that way. At least not in the system that we have here.

Doubt that. Somehow my guess is those two lawyers that are advising the Martins will get their hands on that money. They were there everyday and making the rounds on the TV shows

7/13/2013 11:03:00 PM

Does the name Bill Cozzi ring a bell?

Ray, Bill Cozzi name rings a bell, but has nothing to do with the state appealing. Dont know where you got that information.
He was first tried on the state level
When Jodi became supt he was charged on a FEDEREAL level and convicted and it had NOTHING to do with the original state charge

There supposed to base their decision on FACTS.

If the prez had a son he couldnt look like Trayvon. Huckabee just said on a Fox news commentary that the prez is half white and Trayvons parents were both black so he couldn't look like him

2013 and still using the race card. Clue, Zimmerman isn't considered white by definition so get off the race card.
It's a decision by the jurors, respect it. Jackson complaining they were white, the prosecutor s could have complained at the beginning, they did not. Can't complain after it doesn't go your way, take your ball and go home !
Everyone knew OJ was guilty even the blacks but it was all so funny when he got off. Can't have it both ways. Deal with it.
And as far as the posts stating he stalked him, we're you there? He followed him to point him out to police. Travon decided to fight and turn into aggressor it was proven and hence the not guilty !

If Martin would have knocked Zimmerman to the ground and walked away he would have been alive today. It goes to site this little pink had all the rage. I just wish Zimmerman would have used a brick to send that thug where he belongs. I would have loved to hear the protests how un unarmed was killed by an unarmed victim.

Everyone who agrees it was the right verdict after considering the actual evidence and testimony are considered racist barbarians. I can't even count the number of times I read, " He was ordered to stop and return to his vehicle by the police". Forget using logic, facts or any other argument. The press REALLY ram-rodded this shit fest down our throats as something it is not, was not and will never be. Only the truly stupid latched on to the band wagon, including that joke sitting in The Oval Office at the moment.

I wonder if large groups of Conservative, European-Americans will violently protest if the Feds zap him?

Now you're surprised that they are trying to somehow make a proper decision in this case racist?

Liberalism is indeed a mental disease. Brain dead white guilt victims of socialist brainwashing are a bigger problem than the savages they make excuses for.

You are obviously not a cop or, if you are, shouldn't be. The State has NO appeal from a NG verdict. Zimmerman is a free man and cannot be recharged for the same crime in state court.

Next time sit through ALL of the Law & Order show from which you draw your legal expertise. Even someone who only watches television shows would understand the concept of double jeopardy.

Whats so bad is that on alot of talk shows, View,Talk, etc even a few of the guests or people makling the comments that agree with the verdict are afraid to say so. They sugarcoat it and always start out it was a treagedy for all concerned, then come up short with their real view because they get jumped on by the other celebrities and shouted down by the audience. Almost like on these talk shows a shithead can call you every racist name for a white and no one would dare respond with the n word even just to show them itsa not proper

film footage outside courthouse looks like trouble, waving around bags of skittles and cans of iced tea demanding justice

7/13/2013 09:25:00 PM

7/13/2013 10:38:00 PM

How many blacks do you know? I didn't celebrate O J being found not guilty, nor did the people I know. See, a decent human being does not celebrate the innocent being slaughtered. Nicole Simpson,Ron Goldman, and Trayvon Martin were all murdered. What is even more disturbing to me is that some whites are keeping score as a way of playing "catch-up." You know, whites slaughtered blacks with impunity years ago and now blacks are "slaughtering' whites now. Untrue. We know violent crimes committed by blacks are overwhelmingly against blacks. Those of you that celebrate Zimmerman being found not guilty, you are whatever you called those folks that celebrated O J being found not guilty. Hypocrites.
