be careful with that stretch of road. if u are going north bound on Ashland from the 55, chances are u get the three green lights in a row in that stretch and u could easily reach 45mph without even knowing it since u are just driving "with traffic".

Now suppose you observe them spraying a black tar like substance onto the view port glass of the speed and red light camera housings.
The question is would you stop them and investigate or would you look for real criminal activity?
Speeding cameras will not make driver's slow down. People will forget that they are there or they won't know. Speed humps WILL MAKE DRIVER'S SLOW DOWN. For the children my ass, put something in place that has no direct effect ahh the liberal way. Let's not be PRO-ACTIVE and put things in place that will actually make a difference. 13 more years I can't wait, Northern Texas here I come.
Amazing, I can't get the city to come out and replace a burnt out street light bulb or trim a dead tree branch dangling 20 feet above the sidewalk. The city that works when it's Ching Ching time.

Speaking of these cameras, how come there has been no more word on what is going to happen with the red light cameras. Since the contract was supposed to be up in Jul and wasn't going to be renewed based on the discovered bribes, can we now just ignore them?
I used to throw a pretty good fastball years ago.

How do you think the parking meter deal got passed? Where is the FBI and the investigative reporters on that deal?

Maybe this "crew" could service some red light cameras also. I'd drive right by with blinders on if I on viewed them.
BTW, since when did absolutely everyone not learn how to cross a street? There are the "Stop for the Morons that Don't know How to Look Both Ways" stop signs at crosswalks all over this shithole City. All on major streets. Try driving down Division St. Every fuckin block, and the yuppies just step right out in front of you. People are avoiding doing anything in this city as it is. When the taxpayers stop patronizing businesses and avoid doing anything in this shithole, it WILL be a Detroit. A city full of "Save Me's" and "Gimme's" MF's....More than it is already.

When is the last time you saw a cop pulling someone over? Traffic enforcement went out the window with no cops available. We don't have time to make the stops we used to.
Traffic enforcement was a valuable crime enforcement tool on many different levels. It let the bad guys see us out there. They were the ones getting the bulk of the enforcement. It gave us a chance to give a 'warning' to the good people that were getting sloppy with their driving. A positive encounter for us. It also stopped the bad, over aggressive driving that is so common now.
Speed cameras are nothing but a money generator. Don't lie about it being anything else. A properly and motivated manned police force is a better money maker and the right bad guy gets tagged, not just good guys a few miles over the limit. More police pay for themselves and make the city safer. What is so hard about understanding that.
Hey SCC, you should start an on going list of all the Red Light and Speed camera locations in this crooked city!
It would be very beneficial as a reminder as to where the city is trying to steal $$$ out of your pockets!

Come on, at 1 in the morning I can't tell what color the substance is, probably the cleaning crew with Windex, that's what I would think....Paint 'Catholic charities' on the side, (the contracted human services provider) or 'chicago christian industrial league' (the contracted flower box cleaners) you'll be all good.
How about a BIG BIG bunch of happy face helium balloons in front of those cameras placed there by none other than BOZO the Clown himself.
It would be days before anyone would do anything but smile back.

The other thing I'd like to do is to get a couple of large monster puppets like a Godzilla and a Monthra. Then wire them up with arcing electric wires so they would spark on contact. On a dark night sneak up to the cameras and stage a big monster brawl. Maybe even throw some model cars and buildings past the lenses.
That would really shake up OEMC. Rahm would be dragging the suitcase full of gold bars from under the bed and calling BHO for a helicopter pickup.
I hope Rahm's butlers , er bodyguards, get nailed by these speed cameras frequently.

What would stop someone from getting the license plate number of an alderman who approved these speed cameras, renting a car just like his, putting the forged plate on the car, and running up a few hundred dollars in fines?
