Another Tourist Not Coming Back
Not sure how many more hits the tourist industry is willing to absorb, but here's another:
- Three Cincinnati women riding a rented bicycle on North Avenue Beach were confronted Saturday afternoon by a group of teens, one of whom is accused of stealing one woman's iPhone, police said.
Keith B. Clough, 17, of the 9300 block of South Perry Avenue, was charged late Sunday night with one count of felony robbery, according to police.
A judge set bail at $60,000 today for Clough, according to the Cook County sheriff's office. He is scheduled to appear in court next on Aug. 16, according to the sheriff's office.
The women, 25, 26 and 27, were enjoying a "chariot" bicycle ride when a group of male and female teenagers jumped onto the bike and refused to get off, police said.
The teens began harassing the women and "took turns" jumping onto the chariot cycle, according to a police report. At one point, one of the teens molested one of the women, the report said.
And wonder of wonders, guess what the descriptions of the other offenders are?
- The others in the group fled the scene and were not arrested, police said. Police did not release descriptions of the teens in the group.
No descriptions of a bunch of thieves and a criminal sexual abuser. How very nice. And we're just sure that the victims are going to want to stick around for the next hearing this Friday, and any continuances granted by the courts. How long until Anita's crew drops this one?

LOL, it is funny how the media always seems to neglect the race of the offenders when they are black. After 16 years of being a cop and living in this city I don't understand why they do that. It's not like you are putting a case on a black man. It is what it is. If a black guy commits a crime and there is proof-positive that he is the offender why not just tell it how it is? Can anyone please shine some light on this for me? I am not being dumb not sarcastic. The media had no problem drawing inferences with George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin and the race issue. It's like they love to bring up race when the offender is white and the victim is black.

There was a beach detail in 018 years ago. There was no trouble on the beach from Fullerton to Ohio. A rock head commander from the 19th Ward removed it because there was nothing happening on the beach. Now there is something happening.

I swear to God, this city is toast. I went out to the bars in the River North area last Friday night. Even that part of the city is slowly declining. I observed lots of homeless bums asking for money, some were aggressive, I saw two hookers and a group of male 4 gangbangers. They had all of their gang colors on to boot.
I think groups of Korean, Amish and Filipino kids are out there creating all of this mayhem in our fair city.
The Cincinatti people will be back whenever the Reds play here.
Until someone of political importance is shot at the beach, HQ won't do a thing except keep 8-10 POs there while 500 thugs terrorize tourists and residents. Then, they will create a "new" unit, identical to the old Summer Mobile (which worked) and brag how their strategy is working, pulling obscure stats out of their asses as they always do.

This is not just a Chicago media problem, but a nationwide problem. BLACK on white crime is just not reported for what it is. The other theory is that the people in power, the ones who control the media, have a vested interest in a weakened white society, and boosting blacks and denigrating whites is a way of pursuing it. Either way, it's not even done deliberately - it's automatic - it's reflexive.

Day shift PO's tripping over each other to write Street Cleaning and Rush Hour in 018/019/020/024 and parts of 014. Beat 1814 PO's fighting over Expired Plate and City Sticker tickets on Cannon Dr., when they can be bothered to leave their PD5802 Electric Unit.

Every tourist or citizen that gets mugged or beaten or robbed by these teens should sue the City and the Mayor and Super BY NAME as well as all the people in charge of the Ward or Park District it happens in for failing to provide adequate police protection to the tax paying citizens of Chicago.

Where do I begin this rant? In NYC, you commit a crime against a tourist and they WILL pull out all the stops to hang your ass.
My wife wanted to take her son to Chicago for a day to check out some colleges. I showed her this blog and she immediately cancelled those plans.
