So they put Watson in Capt school but promote him to commander. They couldn't have made another lt a capt and still promote Larry?

I know, just another whiny Lt bitching, your right but the dept makes bonehead moves all the time. Furnaces in the 50's were more efficient than the Cpd

So, they put Watson in the Captains class only to make him a Commander. Was he or will he be sworn in as a Captain before he is made Commander? That's what I want to know...The city that scams, I mean works.

Cesario and Pigott go to Captains class then go right back to the same job, but with a raise, must be nice. Why didnt they open those spots for incumbent Captains to bid to so Cesario and Pigott could go to Patrol first...Nah, foolish me.

Who the hell wants to be a sgt?!

10/26/2013 06:27:00 AM

------

Who the hell wants to be a P.O. after 10 years?

After 20 years of service:

A Sergeant makes $ 99,756

A P.O. Blueshirt makes $83,706

So:

A Sergeant makes in basepay:

$ 16,050 more

Supervisors quarterly $ 5737

Sell back 200 hours
(of the 45 minutes a day Sgts make)

$ 9591

Add them up:
$ 31,378 MORE A YEAR

Also... no more touching scumbags and doing menial arrest reports.

NO MORE bullshit parkers, movers and contact cards.

And best
of all... no more damn court.

THE BEST day of my career was when I made sergeant.

Good luck to all who took the test!!

10/26/2013 08:07:00 PM

And, unless you have a chinaman, you'll wind up on the mids, in the ghetto, for AT LEAST the next 10 (count 'em, TEN) years.

Chambers leaving 007 is the best news I've heard all year. This guy swears he's God's gift to policing. Only problem is he's been a house mouse his entire career. The reason he made captain is because of the hard work of the 007th district tact officers. He treated his guys like shit. Always denied time off. Forget about having a furlough longer than 21 days. Only took care of his favorites, like his godson who has 6 years on is working on the day mission team. He once wanted to get a CR on an officer when a radio went missing, that radio was taken by his godson so he could use it during special. Only problem is the godson didn't tell anybody. So another copper almost gets jammed up because his godson can't open his fat mouth. Then a bosses' kid and a nephew to an alderman with 3 years does tact relief and loses a radio and nothing happens to him. Now that bosses' kid is on the afternoon mission team. He's a complete goof who didn't do shit on the watch but he's on the team because Chambers saw an opportunity.

He wants loyalty from his officers but as soon as they get the opportunity to go someplace better he gets pissed. He will take advantage of his officers and use them to get promoted. I feel sorry for 010. You got a real piece of work. There's a special place in hell for people like Chambers. Good luck 010. You're gonna need it.

Good riddance.

it's the corrupt Chicago way
it's been tested and proven a sergeant can run a watch , lts and captain rank is obsolete

Wrong only the supernintendo can, section 23.8 of the contract:

A successful bidder may not be reassigned except for (1) emergencies for the duration of the emergency, (2) for just cause or (3) where the Superintendent determines that the officer’s continued assignment would interfere with the officer’s effectiveness in that assignment. When there are no qualified bidders, the Employer may fill the recognized vacancy within its discretion.

I guess they could only detail you at 90 day segments. I don't think people are going to any work if they get detailed out to a craphole district so I don't see how that would be effective, but I forgot, this is the cpd where stupidity is commonplace.

Afraid of working midnights?? Wow, the excuses and whining from people never stop. Good reach with this comment. Your showing that your really getting desperate. Listen, if you didnt study, if you didnt put in any time or are to lazy or afraid of getting embarrased to study enough for the test then thats an internal issue you need to deal with yourself. Face it, your bitter, lazy and miserable on this job. You cant stand the though that other people are going to get promoted one day and your gonna be stuck in your spot on a beat car on the watch. You think YOU deserve to be made. If you study for the test and know everything from front to back and put effort into it then you will more than likely get made. If you wind up on midnights who cares. You do it for your family. Midnights you always see your kids before and after school. You see your wife during the day or after she gets home from work and you get to spend holidays with them during the day and night. Also, you are providing your family with 31k more a year... but hey, its all about you right???

Dear diary,
Well it's been a long week but one I will remember forever. First off the great news, XO M.R. Has been launched! It may take a little while to get rid of the remenants of his mighty mustache but the end result is that the power lifting troll is gone! I feel sorry for his gal pal, she is a nice lady but obviously likes to punish herself. The great fear with this move is that once he is an inspector he will be back which is probably true since XO MR is way too much of a coward to work south or west, hell even I have more time in the ghetto than inspector expressway has. (I am claiming copyright of the term inspector expressway now)

Next I need to vent on that sergeants exam. First off I feel like I wasted all of the tax payers money in the time I spent studying while on duty! I studied all the important things like what to do tactically at an active shooter sight, who cares where or who has to get the floor plans? I studied things like how to deal with bombs (I watched the hurt locker over and over) they ask questions about blood draws of unconscious drivers... Next off what was up with those proctors??? I asked one if they could spell proctor and she said "aw hell to the no!" Then I'm told that we couldn't go to the bathroom out if fear we would cheat... Well I guess I wasted a night rolling up those special orders and inserting them in my honey boo boo. Aside from the horrors of the test it was good to reconnect with some of my old west side comrades. I even told a few of my west side stories on how I bonded out a few of my comrade's prisoners on occasion. Good times, good times!

KPR is a snake in the grass. He will kiss anyone's ass tht he thinks will do something for him. Worse yet, he will stab friends and co-workers in the back in order to get ahead.
He's as phony as they come. Tries to talk tough about his days in SOS but anyone that knew him back then knew he was the SOS wagon and jumped on paper every time he transported someone's else's prisoner.

He sold out TRU when the new Supe needed to send officers back to the districts to fulfill Rahms campaign promise. When the Supt realized he couldn't disband Gang Enforcement due to federal grants, Ryan (and Gene Williams) offered up the entire unit as long as he was taken care of. Low and behold, working coppers from 153 and 253 are still stuck in shit districts and he is now in charge of gang enforcement. How ironic.

Being a PO or a PO's wife is not an automatic get out of jail free card. Your average taxpayer doesn't get such treatment so when it is extended to a PO or one of my family members, I'm very grateful. When it isn't, I just shut up and take care of the ticket for my family, pay it or whatever. I have more important things to worry about. It is't worth being upset. They probably only doing what their bosses tell them to do. So be it.

How wide does this cloak of invincibility to tickets or minor traffic violation extend anyway? I recall working cops getting cussed out to high heaven for writing tickets to people who deserved them, and then the "blog" condemned them because PO so-and-so wrote so-and-so who is a brother of a gold star family etc. That gold star brother turned out to be a full blown alcoholic with a revoked drivers license and was still using his brother's death to drive illegally ten years after.

Most of the time we get benefits normal non-police people can't even dream of. When we or our family are held responsible for something, oh well, take it like a grown up.

I worked with Mike Ryan in Gang Crimes North in the 80's. He was a great guy, hard working and fun to be with. He has had tragedy in his life no one would ever want. Before we criticize a person too harshly, we should try to walk a mile in his shoes. None of us are perfect.

----

sorry ... I know he WAS a good guy.

However he treats people like SHIT.

He should be smart enough to know he has a problem and treat everyone with respect.

Unfortunately we all have faced tragedy in our lives, however using that tragedy as an excuse for being mean, angry and hateful is not valid. MR may have been a nice guy 20 plus years ago but when he started advancing up the ranks he got more arrogant, rude, indignant, angry and hateful up to where he is now, a short little man who is nothing more than a hateful, vengeful, bully. We all have burdens and tragedies in our lives but it is the character of the person to whom theses events have happened that comes through in the face of adversity. It's not what has happened to you but rather how you have come through the things that have occurred in your life and where you are after it. This man is filled with a whole lot of anger, and he just finalized his divorce, so who knows how he's gonna be out there.

"My wife got a speeding ticket on the way home still her in scrubs and I'm a cop, wahhhhhh".

She is a nurse, not on call, off from work, you even said going home. What was her hurry again at 1am...? How is it professional curtesy...? Just because you're a cop doesn't give her a right to drive like a jag.

10/27/2013 06:53

don't know the facts, but....did the circumstances warrant the issuance of a citation? would professional judgment have dictated a verbal "warning" instead of a ticket? did the issuance of a citation serve the "goals of justice", or make the streets safer?....did the ticket serve the chief's ticket quota target?...where in the event does common sense come into play?

FYI lots of skeletons at loomis and jackson and money from grants not properly accounted for ?

Pigott made most if not all of the decisions at the academy. Lodding was not big on making decisions except to say yes to every idea from 35th street and no to the staff. CaLLOWAY deserves a fair chance to learn how life is at the academy.

This is in refference to the Schiller Park Police Officer writing a Police Officers wife a speeding ticket and to those who feel there is nothing wrong with it. To all the police officers in the United States, I know for a fact that you do not cite every motorist you stop for a traffic infraction. Some of you are allowed to write a written warning and some have total discretion on when to cite or give an verbal warning. So we give citizens breaks all the time, heck even in Chicago we give west side and south side dogs breaks on traffic infractions. So why when the spouse of a police officer informs that her spouse in a police officer in (fill in the blank) that person cannot be afforded the same discretion you are allowed to give any other citizen? Is it because that officer did not get hired by CPD and now has animosity for anything CPD. Unless you are one of these speeding cameras or red light cameras that have no discretion and hammer senior citizens on fixed income, city vehicles, moms rushing their kids to school, etc for driving 6mph over the speed limit you as an officer have no excuse in my book for writing another officer or family member a ticket. Unless you are a traffic nazi who would write their own mother then write away jagoff!

YOU'RE a fucking stroke for even TRYING to justify Ryan's conduct and demeanor.

Common sense left the department when the city started requiring a college degree and began hiring people that never had a job prior to coming here. Also didn't help when they began to hire people that have never lived in or stepped foot in the city.Yes there was a time when you had to be a city resident to even take the test.

They have a scam there, the human version of speeding cameras. Most out of state people have to post a bond, $20, the exact amount of the fine, $20.

Most people don't go to court so that's how they make money. Bond slip is with the ticket.

I couldn't believe they take $20 cash, me being from Chicago and all. But yup, he took the twenty and documented it.

I later spoke to some Washington State cops and US Border Patrol and they all had speeding tickets from Montana, same deal, cough up the twenty and adios. That was 2004 so it probably is more now.

A big thanks to the Schiller Park copper who wrote my wife (a nurse) a speeding ticket at 1am when she was on her way home from work, dressed still in her scrubs. Times are a changing, a copper’s wife who’s a nurse, still in her uniform, can’t catch a break? What’s going on up there in Schiller Park? Thanks for the professional courtesy office!

10/27/2013 01:51:00 PM

Schiller Park is an "outfit" suburb and there is no predicting what the police might do out there; however, the softball copper should remember who might be catheterizing him one night if he sorry ass is shot. Remember Fife: You don't ticket coppers, firemen, priests and nuns, doctors and nurses, and copper families. Got it?

Hey Dumb fuck if you do not cite every motorist you stop for a traffic infraction, then you can use that same discretion when a motorist informs you that their spouse or parent is a police officer. If you do not believe them you can have them call the officer they claim to be related to. After a couple of questions and from their answers you should know if they are a police officer or not. Wow!! 25 over on a Montana interstate would be 105, and you are complaining?

Allyson Clark is one of the reasons the Academy is fucked up.She should be investigated when she had her baby and she was not on a leave. She had a department computer at home.Lodding had her make technical decisions on equipment in the academy. She has no technical background. There has not been a accurate inventory since she took over as a Administrative Manager.

Lording is the commander

Only if he was demoted. Lodding was the Deputy Chief at the Training Academy.

Lodding only has 23 years, even though he has the age. I doubt he is retiring.

how about an outside (FBI?) investigation into the organization, assignments, procurements, and investigations/overtime in the CPD.....and, add to that, a forensic family/friends/political connections tree......let's see who knows who

Good riddance MR! Wow, and to think it only took years to launch him. Thanks to this taking so long to happen, good cops and bosses have already been chased out of the district, thanks to this micro managing, bitter, old son of a bitch. Hopefully he takes his
2nd watch back-stabbing dolly soon.
Nice hiding spot at the school. Poor RB. He keeps getting stuck with all these hated losers.

Ronnie B. is No Prize by a Long Shot! He acts like he's miserable. yet he has been taken care of as long as I can recall.

10/27/2013 10:12:00 PM

he can act like he's miserable when he's stuck with the likes of MH and before that RR, man talk about being taken care of, she's a huge joke!

10/28/2013 10:57:00 PM
Never Had a problem with RB. does his job. But speaking of that RR she has been taken care of from day 1 His partner SH got dumped to make a spot for her. Went right on the mayors house out of caps and before that lane hs and before that caps (first round) and before that commanders office and before that a recruit. Maybe now that she is living with her station supervisor he can excuse her after working half tours. We did real good by getting rid of that jagoff mr now commander just finish by putting these do-nothings on beat cars where they belong and give some of those spots to the more senior officers.

Join the club. No one knew he was retiring. Lodding never told his staff he was retiring. He told a few sgts and not the staff that worked for him for 5 years? Lodding is a nice guy but has a horrible fear of public speaking. He was a master at hiding every problem from 35th street. Not a leader but a master politician, a successful politician.

10/28/2013 05:37:00 AM

What are you talking about? Most people knew he was retiring six months ago. Out of the loop a bit?
