Crime is.....Up? Wait a Minute....

  • The violent crime rate went up 15 percent last year, and the property crime rate rose 12 percent, the government said Thursday, signs that the nation may be seeing the last of the substantial declines in crime of the past two decades.

Last year marked the second year in a row for increases in the crime victimization survey, a report that is based on household interviews.

The 2012 increases were driven by a rise in crimes that were not reported to police, a category frequently involving less-serious offenses. Simple assaults also rose. The rate of property crimes increased due to a rise in theft.

"One year of bad news is something you notice but don't necessarily draw conclusions about. Two years of bad news suggests it might be time to start worrying," said Carnegie Mellon University professor Jonathan Caulkins.
Golly. Not to brag, but we guess we were pretty much right all along and Rahm, Garry and the whole New York crew was wrong.

Well Duh!!! We are in our fifth year of an uncontrolled, wide open, southern boarder. All sorts of filth from So. of the border is flooding across by the thousands every month. Boarder Patrol/ICE is practicing catch and release. Even when they apprehend known criminals they release them. BATF is running guns and grenades to a drug cartel. All this is happening on orders from the WH. People in the border states are arming themselves in preparation, and you tell us crime is up.

Here's a line from the tribs article on bike licensing. Emanuel nodded at the difficulty of enforcing such registration, especially in a city with entrenched violent crime. "I surely don't want police involved in policing whether you bought a bike license," he said. So is the city safe or is it entrenched in violent crime? I can't keep up with the double talk bullshit from Rahm.

Crime is down because folks don't bother to make a report. Try using callback, they'll probably get back to you in about 6 hours or so. Are you going to sit around and wait? Try going into the station to make a report. There's usually one officer working while the rest are toying on computers.

Why the hell can't we take the sgt test in the nearby high schools. Why do we have to drive to lake shore drive. Who is the brainiac that came up with that idea?

Crime is up. Just this morning my neighbor had his kids help out with the leaves on the block. When it snows we will help each other with that mess as well. Our block is off the chain and steady crackin. Now that is real talk.

That's OK, Garry. You can watch "Blue Bloods" tonight and see how a GOOD police commissioner runs things.

BECAUSE. We need to get some revenue off the test takers and you might as well pay your fair share.

Too bad you can't pay me to get on my Merit List.

but when you're down close to 2500 people it's virtually impossible to be any one place at all.CPD went from 12,000+ down to what? 8500? big drop
no cops no reports no crime

Crime is up?

You are seeing Obamanomics in action!

The more joblessness, more wasteful spending, more debt, more of everything and you will, duh, see more crime!

Been five years of Obama and we have three more.

Lots of luck folks. Hope you have a good roscoe to help make it through the night.
