The "Children" Again

  • Twenty-nine students were arrested this morning following a disturbance at Percy L. Julian High School on the Far South Side in the city's Washington Heights neighborhood.

Shortly before 10 a.m., police were called out to a disturbance at the school located at 10330 S. Elizabeth St., said Police News Affairs [...].

Police arrived at the school and got the brawl under control, but three female students and 26 male students were arrested....
Any idea how many man-hours, transport vehicles, processing time this little escapade took?

As long as it wasn't on a safe route, it's all good. I noticed that they didn't call in any safe route watchers to quell the kerfuffle...

On the news they showed at least 3 kids with saggy pants, one kids pants fell to the ground while he was handcuffed. I allways thought the schools made boys tuck in their shirts. I guess not.

Nice to know that a grand CPS tradition continues. The 1960s all over again.

Close down schools! Over crowd schools! No money for schools! It all adds up to what happened. Unbelievable!

Just think of all the fights which aren't reported because principals want to have clean arrests records by their CPS schools. There were already two huge fights, with one fight spilling onto Grand Ave. and blocking traffic, at Prosser this year and nobody was arrested. How does this happen?

The problems at Prosser are a good reason to open the charter school (which former Prosser queen Ald. Emma Mitts backs) across the street at the old lumber yard, close Prosser down, let all the shitheads fend for themselves in finding a new school, and get rid of the 25-30 teachers at Prosser making over $90,000+.

How long before the part time parents and locals reverends turn this into an over reaction by the police. How all their child was doing was walking to class when he was roughed up and arrested by the police.

Had a friend who taught at Julian. At parent teacher conferences she didn't talk to parents she talked to probation officers. She frequently had to interrupt her planning time to speak to police officers who came to her classroom. CPS at its finest.

Forgive my stating the obvious: Police will be stationed at this school throughout the week; however look at “safe passage” it is still going on!! So right now the CPD is thousand less than is should be in a normal Chicago like city, however the Rahm/Obama/Quinn version truly needs more like double what it is today.

Yet how many are “needed” in Englewood, Chatham, etc. not to mention Rahm’s block!!! So where do these criminals go, Downtown, Gold Coast, Jefferson Park, not quite so picked over yet, like their own neighborhoods!! Plus if you are not lucky enough to have a brave 15 year old girl from Florida nearby, you are on your own with a pack of wild animals, (like pit bulls become when the gentle animals are raised by this same filth).

If you can not save enough money from being handed over to every program they come up with for handouts to hire more police, then get rid of the criminals, death penalty for the current ones and stop the stupid aid for all the future ones so maybe they won’t keep spawning them! After one child, aid for 5 years, MAX. If after one they haven’t figured out how it happened, then they really shouldn’t be voting!

Julian is clearly failing to provide an adequate peace and healing circle as outlined in the CPS Student Code of Contact. More information on their failure can be found here:

Charter schools are not the answer, just a reason for the mayor to get rid of union jobs. If your so anti union, move to Florida, and see how much you make there.

Wait, a high school is occupied by 'children?' I believe 'children' go to grade schools and Young ADULTS go to high school. (But, knowing that they don't learn anything in grade school, their brains are still in the 'infantile' pre-school stage.
