What a Dumbass

  • Former Mayor Richard M. Daley says he doesn’t remember much about the planning of Millennium Park, his wildly over-budget project that has become one of Chicago’s civic treasures.

The sprawling downtown park, with its gleaming stainless-steel sculpture known as “The Bean,” is seen as one of his crowning achievements. Daley, though, shrugs it off. He says it wasn’t even his idea to build the $475 million park, instead crediting Daniel Burnham, the legendary planner who created Chicago’s master plan more than a century ago

As Chicago’s longest-serving mayor, Daley had a reputation as a micromanager and stickler for details. But he recalls little about the many meetings he attended to plan the park and not much either about its controverisal restaurant, the Park Grill, according to a transcript of an often-contentious deposition the former mayor gave Aug. 29 at the law offices of his attorney Terrence Burns.
Sure, blame the guy who has been dead 100 years. It's certainly hard to believe this guy ran a major American city into the ground and retired without doing prison time.

One evil, rotten, thieving little over sold shit-shack irish m/f who should have been no more than a frothy brown stain on the sheets in August of 1941 than the affliction he's come to be.

The quintessential "Village Idiot" hiding down the communal privy-hole giggling and clutching a handful of burning twigs to singe the asses of all who dare to squat and block his view of the world.

Chicago is reaping it's just reward for dragging the idiot from the privy-hole and placing a crown on his head.

The idiot is getting the last and best laugh.

He giggles, picks his nose, farts, inhales deeply and giggles again as people ask him what happened to all the gold that used to be in the village treasury.

"I planted twees an' flow'rs!"

*The Police are what's wrong with Chicago.*

The Great Beige Father in D.C. owes his everything to the Village Idiot and his cabal here in Chicago for putting The GBF in the White House.

But you can bet your ass a Copper gets their life turned upside-down by the G for chin-checking a Catered To Constituent too hard in self defense.

Japan Central Bank To "Own" 100% Of GDP In 5 Years

The Bank of Japan will, for the first time in history, "own" all of Japan's GDP on its balance sheet some time in 2018 when its "assets" as a percentage of GDP surpass 100%, and then proceed in linear fashion to add about 10% of GDP to its balance sheet with every passing year until everything inevitably comes crashing down.

more ;

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-10-19/when-hyman-minsky-runs-hills-japan-central-bank-own-100-gdp-5-years

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --

so what happens to the city, state, or nation when the gdp to debt ratio becomes 100 percent we wonder.

gdp is a measure of all goods and services and once we sell enough bonds where all our gdp, our productivity goes to pay the debt. then what.

we are owned by the bond holders.

why would we need aldermen, a mayor, governor, senate, house, president, etc.. we've been sold. we are the bondholders property.

the bondholders are guaranteed that their bond money interest and return of capital will be paid as the bonds are backed 'by the full faith and trust of the us government.'

doesn't that mean we will be taxed 100 percent if necessary to pay back all the borrowed money. that's the promise. full faith and trust.

if there's not enough money from the taxes on your walmart jobs then they start confiscating property that you thought you would turn over to your children. emanate domain law would allow it -- it's a national emergency.

the national debt is already about 145,000 per worker at the fed level. add in about 12,000 for illinois debt and a few more thousand for cook co. and chicago debt. then add in your kids student loan debt and tell me who your kids will be working for.

we'll just take your house and land thank you very much.

we're not going to grow our way out of this. they keep charging things up and the sheep allow it.

so we're already over 200,000 dollars per worker in debt. in a few short years our kids can turn over our land and homes that we leave to them so they. in turn. can turn it over to the bondholders to pay off our debts.

i mean the good jobs have been shipped out. any of the really good jobs here are being done by foreigners on h-1b visas or illegal immigrants. there's no money to pay this shit off. so soon it will be time to call for the liquidation of assets. we already see it with the parking meter deal, the skyway deal.

so it can be expected to be brought down to the personal level just like greece stole private bank accounts.

which reminds me. you have seen the news on jp morgan not allowing wire transfers out of the country now and limiting account activity to 50k per month total. that is just for starters ppl.

the wheels are coming off the empire.

For" fast and furious" alone the president should be Impeached and Holder imprisoned. This is only one of several Impeachable acts ignored by the other branches of government.
When Daley destroyed Meigs field and went unpunished it was the death of the rule of law in Chicago. This was so not because the corrupt ledgeslators stood down but because the people failed to raise up and protest.
We truly have the government we deserve.

Say what you want about Daley, our city was becoming a dump before he took over.
Maybe those of you that write things are too young to remember Navy Pier before. It was a rotting, old, wooden pier that was nothing more than an eyesore. We had high rise ghettos that were nasty looking as you drove downtown. Our city is now the most beautiful of all the large cities In the US. And that costs money. If our city still looked the way it did 30 years ago, every single one of you would be on here bitching about what a dump we live in. We have parts of the city that are nasty looking but that is because the people living there have ruined once great neighborhoods.
Go take a visit to New York. That entire city is one big garbage can. Trash all over the street because their garbage is kept in the street. Summertime the smell in the air is rotting garbage. Go See what size of a place you could have in New York. You would be lucky to have a two bedroom apartment. Quit your bitching and be thankful that you live in a beautiful, clean, city and can afford to live in a nice single family home if that's what you want.

Did Burnham Channel to Daley to build the Park? The entire deposition can be viewed on the Sun-Times online and it is worth reading. The testimony was similar to testimony given by Hillary Clinton regarding her corruption, they just say "I do not recall" and they get away with it. So why does that not work when we get called down to IAD? Daley contrary to what so many Democrats have said for years was never very smart. Remember how he took the Bar Exam several times until personally coached by a law professor, who later became a judge as a reward for coaching Daley. Mike Royko used to make jokes about young Daley, noting how dumb he was. So how did someone this stupid stay in power so long? The answer is the Media and the Republicans refusing to ever run a competent candidate against him. AND THE REAL ANSWER IS YOU WHO VOTED FOR HIM REPEATEDLY. So if Daley is this stupid, what does it say about the bosses in the Police Department that he promoted? Shitcago really is full of Yokels.

He used the old Billy-Jeff / Hildebeast Klintoon 'Stay Out of Prison' method of giving testimony under oath (DVD on sale now; Clinton Presidential Library & Sex Shop, $149.95 + tax):
"I don't recall"... "I have no recollection of that." ... "What? I don't know how that got there?" ... "It depends on the meaning of ___.".

And last but not least .....
.... "I didn't do it, you didn't see me do it, you can't prove I did it, and even if I did do it I can't remember doing it so there's nothing to see here -- it's old news and time to move on."

How about not threatening for retro and just sue for residency anyway? There is NO other major US city that has this archaic rule. I could give a shit if the city crumbles to the ground anyway. If they're that worried about the property values, make PO's stay for their first 7 years or something then you can live outside the city. Steady stream of po's keeping up their homes and selling them to other po's and property value stays in tact. If I had a back up plan, I'd take my family and raise it out of this God forsaken cesspool. Not letting them go to any Chicago public school with some racist like Karen Lewis at the helm. Fuck THAT!

This machine kept him in power for 22 years. It cast him aside when the Tiny Dancer needed a potential launching point for a Presidential bid. It has been a major player in every National election. It put the current disaster in chief in play.

Daley isn't a moron, but he is not the architect of this machine. It is much bigger and should be feared and dismantled by intelligent voters. I am afraid we don't have that in us, though.

The media DID report it, quite clearly, when Emanuel announced Maggiepark. But no one paid any attention.
Then I started responding every time someone came on here complaining about Maggiepark, saying it was really about repairing the shoddy job done on the underground parking garage. (Because I had paid attention to the peripheral news reports when the 'park' was announced.)
Now, you're complaining the media doesn't report about it, because you DIDN'T pay attention, just like most people.

10/20/2013 06:44:00 AM

You wouldn't name a park after Maggie Daley.
Not unless you were an outsider, who just bought the position of mayor, who honestly believed he could sell the idea of a multi-million dollar underground garage repair by calling it Maggie Daley Park.
He never lived here, so he had no idea how people who live here really feel about the Daley crime family. His mistake was thinking Maggie was SO beloved here, the citizens wouldn't be outraged, because - after all - it was a park for their revered Maggie.

Fuck THAT!

The courts have upheld residency, most changes were reached through contract negotiations

As for residency I think if the FOP doesn't flip the bill on sueing the city, then we take a poll on how many members want residency!!!

Once that's complete we each pitch in a couple hundred bucks and hire our own lawyer and sue.

I hope the above post is being a smart ass, because the city is crumbling beneath us, the sewer system backs up every time it rains. You can not take public transportation with out being mugged or beat up. We lead the country in homocides. Our taxes are crazy high, our public school system is the worst in the counrty but costs the most. The politicians bow down to the corrupt reverunds. The politicians are in bed with the gangs. The cost of doing a cosmetic cover up of this city was not worth the price we paid. they could have done this for half the price. The greedy Daley cabal would not stop stealing. They all should be in prison.

You are more then likely a woman in your 50's or older who actually believes the bs the media spins. Go back to bingo and keep your rose colered glasses on.

Doing prison time for running the city (or state or nation) into the ground?

Yea sure. See politicians know they can do all kinds of destructive things to keep them elected. And most of these things tax payers pay for.

Being elected to office is a win-win for them. No accountability and plenty of chances for graft.

Haven't you noticed over $600 million for Obamacare website and 2 years work and it flops? Who owns the company? Who owns stock in it? How did they get a no-bid contract?

Yea money lines the pockets of the politicians and their families. That is how.

There, I said it, I am a clout baby. The sergeant's test is coming up and I will pass part one. I will pass part two with flying colors. At work, no one knows who I am and who I know. I keep my mouth shut. I am part of CPD royalty and most people don't even know it. At first I felt super guilty. People at work constantly bitching about people with clout. People on this blog too. Look, this is the way it is. Not just in this department but in higher levels of government, the Fortune 500 companies, etc. Complaining won't help. Being my best friend will.

Residency should be out. But, you may not like what you find. House values on the south side to include Mt. Greenwood and Midway area are pretty low and it would cost you a lot to buy a house in the burbs. Taxes are about double in the burbs, and you pay extra for garbage and water. If you have kids in the private school system you would save that money by sending your kids to public schools. But, be warned, the public schools in the burbs are infested with drugs, much more then the city schools.

There would be no more "sgt my kids got a game mind if I slide by during the tour?" Would not be Allowed as it would be out of the city and easy for beepers to notice! Brother is in fleet and he said this was discussed when he city bought the airport all new k9 vehicles, and it was said that these vehicles would not be allowed to be taken out of the city to a suburban home using city gas! So the k9 guys would have to buy another vehicle park the police marked one in a district lot and go home!

Sorta adds credibility to Fitzgerald abruptly resigning his office as US Attorney, Illinois, Northern District.
He apparently did not like Obama, via Holder calling the shots on how/who should be investigated/indicted.
He quietly left without 'giving up' his boss, sort of like the way our well-respected fire commish 'retired' as "it was time" only to accept another fire job elsewhere, almost immediately.
One could only hope a 'free-handed' U.S. Atty. could take care of Daley, Madigan, Cullerton, Quinn, et al and put some integrity back in Illinois/Chicago politics.
But then again....it's the "Chicago-Way."

Hard to get the teachers involved. They are never really fired for that, have all sorts of exemptions, even now like if you teach a certain subject or if they teach in a field where there are few teachers. A few years back the head of the CPS lived in a northshore suburb and they gave him 3 years to move in
Also maybe 15 years ago the re enforced the residency for the teachers which was always in affect and caught so many that they allowed them to stay in the suburbs because their principal allowed them to do it
Similar to the fire department inspectors that were spared because it was a long standing tradition to pad your time and mileage expense sheets.

Yeah, the homes aren't worth as much in Mt. Greenwood and Garfield Ridge, however, you can get a whole lot more house in a more open area in the suburbs for what you pay for the overinflated shit shacks we have in the crappy city. If you have a working spouse and you are willing to take a hit on your house and have it in the other spouses name, you might be alright, unless you take a bath on a home that both of your names are on. Remember, you can rebound from foreclosures. What is the upbringing of your small children worth to you? Guess its sacrafices that need to be made.

How do we begin? Old timers or readers with a law background care to chime in? There will be some that say it's ridiculous, I'm sure, but no risk no reward. Duke is pretty much in your backyard at this point. Chicago sucks and it's not the same place it was 13 years ago getting on this job. It's so much different. At least in the burbs you'd have a fighting chance to show your kids a bit of a nicer life.

went to see my proctologist to find out what has been causing all the itching, pain, bleeding and oozing of pus around my rear end. The doctor said I had a Daley growing down there, Maggie or Richy I asked. Oh, definitely a Maggie, you got a big fetid Maggie growing there; remember, we had the Richy surgically removed two years ago he told me.

So it looks like I will have my own beloved Maggie asshole access surgically removed soon. I hope they give me good pain killers.

Bull shit. What cushy district do YOU work in where the Sgt let's you "slide by" the kid's game? Get real! Nobody mentioned giving up SHIT! What was mentioned, brain trust, is abolishing the law as every other major US city has done with regards to residency. Not saying on a public forum where I would go, but I know EXACTLY where I would go, and I have NO qualms about making the ride everyday FOR MY FAMILY. Ever hear of Sirius radio? I can listen and drive and be completely content with a drive. Hell, what's the difference if I'm a north sider and got dumped down into 005?? NOTHING! Still an hour drive. Lot's of things that would "never happen" on this job have happened. So open yourself up to change.

Coppers are a strange breed what idiot would ever offer to give up anything previously negotiated in a union contract to abolish residency? Ok hair gel alert! Here we go! Let's say you could move where would you go? Bueller! No idea correct? Would you be willing to pay triple your real estate taxes? Drive a distance? There would be no more "sgt my kids got a game mind if I slide by during the tour?" Would not be Allowed as it would be out of the city and easy for beepers to notice! Brother is in fleet and he said this was discussed when he city bought the airport all new k9 vehicles, and it was said that these vehicles would not be allowed to be taken out of the city to a suburban home using city gas! So the k9 guys would have to buy another vehicle park the police marked one in a district lot and go home!

You have to put the college degree on a shelf keep the memories of the parties and realize that it is never going to happen ever!

I agree that residency should be out, but to paraphrase a previous poster, things might not be what you think in the suburbs. Taxes are about double, and you do pay extra for water and sewers. He is also correct about many suburban schools being infested with drugs. Everyone should be able to live where they want, but the grass is not always greener in suburbia.

Texas? Not sure how well you will fit in down there. Don't cotton to strangers, particularly Yankees. Good luck.

This is a nice distraction from the mess Rahm created. Anything to get people focused on the Daleys and away from the Emanuels not knowing how to run a city but good at selling it off. The Emanuels are now doling out your money to the friends and family of Rahm and Ari. But hey, the Daley story needs to be the headline.

I know lots of Chicagoans who moved to Texas, they love it and have no problem. It's not like the movie Deliverance. Chill out.

Residency beef, the bottom line is the city shouldn't completely control where u live!!!

You may want to send ur kids to school in the burbs away from mass shitheads...just a thought..

Lastly, the city gets millions of hours of free police service from us living in the city, they are getting a great bang for there buck!

Yankees with the right attitude are more than welcome in Texas and other states populated with upright people.

The problems begin when the yellow-pinky liberal socialist democrats who fled their utopias in California, New York and Illinois get a wild hair across their asses to "fix" and fuck with things that they ought fix or fuck with...

Note the transplanted moon-bats from California pushing their anti 2nd Amendment bullshit in Colorado after overrunning Denver and Boulder to establish liberal socialist havens in those cities.

We must guard against these corrosive fucks ruining the rest of this republic with their nanny-statist, yellow-pinky, pandering bullshit.

These m/fers are wholly unable to live among others and keep their bright fucking ideas and fucked up tendencies to themselves.

Not true when it comes to a deposition. Burge went to jail for lying in a federal civil deposition, which was a rarity in itself.

10/21/2013 10:18:00 AM

Not at all rare. Ever heard of Loevy & Loevy? People's Law Office? Flint Taylor? There are more. Their bread and butter are Federal Civil suits. For $$. Flint Taylor sued on behalf of one of the Wilson Brothers, murderers of PO's Fahey & O'Brien. Asked for damages of One Dollar. ($1.00)

Got the One Dollar awarded to his client. Then sent the City a legal bill, signed by the judge, for one million bucks. And got paid. Rules are different in Federal Court.

I got sued for job related incident in Federal Court. Not fun. I knew I was right but at no time was I certain we would win. We did win and it held up on appeal. Then I retired.

When I retire I will remain in this city. I have always liked Chicago, I was born and raised here. Prior to becoming a police officer I never imagined living anywhere else. There was a point in my career where I developed a dislike for the city because of politicians, the Department and all of the dregs of society we are exposed to. I have come to realize that my dislike was misguided... When you are exposed to the daily stresses of a police officer, you can become hypersensitive to what amounts to minor irritants. No city is perfect and Chicago's suburbs are far from perfect. They pay higher property taxes, they maybe buried by snowfall for days and their police and fire departments are no comparison.
