Edge of the City Crime
- Three 15-year-old boys face robbery charges after they used toy guns to hold up a woman and a 14-year-old girl in the O’Hare neighborhood Thursday night, police said.
The three boys were arrested at or near the Cumberland Blue Line station a within about 15 minutes of the robberies, which took place just after 7 p.m. Thursday, said Chicago Police News Affairs [...]. Police had to chase one of them onto the CTA right-of-way to catch him, causing a brief shutdown of Blue Line service.
One of the robberies took place in the 8700 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue a little after 7:05 p.m., when a group of teens approached a 31-year-old woman, showed a weapon and demanded property from her..... They took the woman’s backpack and cell phone and fled.
About the same time, a 14-year-old girl walking in the 5400 block of North East River Road—about a block away from the other robbery—was approached by a group of teens, and one of them displayed a gun and announced a robbery. The group took a smartphone and earphones from the girl and ran off.
A few minutes later, officers located five teenage boys at the Cumberland Blue Line station, and quickly caught several of them..... One of the 15-year-olds who later was charged got off the Cumberland platform and ran onto the Blue Line tracks before he was caught.....
In the boys’ possession police found a backpack with two toy guns that matched the description of those used in the robberies.
Word from 016 is that all three apprehended were from Englewood and the surrounding area. Anyone?

The rats have infiltrated the blue and brown lines; no CTA special there. Flyer boys are harassing citizens around rush hour on the northbound trains. Mass transit unit is stretched thin. Maybe the Guardian Angels will patrol there now.
What a delightful coming of age story. These young scamps from Englewood don't have real guns yet, but they're honing their skills with toy guns. I hope the Cook County judge assigned to the case doesn't give these rascals too stern a lecture, it would be shame to stifle their creativity and innovation at such an early age.

The criminal class from the south and west sides are slowly waking up to the fact that certain areas of the city have less officers. Less officers and more territory cover means the criminal class can get away. You don't have to be a rocket scientist or a PhD to figure that out.
The Northwest Side of Chicago is not what it used to be. Even by Cumberland and Foster where I live. I notice these thugs hanging around in my neighborhood. The city doesn't care about the decent areas of the city. All they care about is the south and west sides.

FYI- The response from the 016 was great to find and arrest the jagoffs. A foot pursuit onto the live cta tracks, one offender jumped into the Kennedy traffic, causing a big accident. Nobody gave up, cried or turned away from good Police work. Nobody was afraid to get their hands "dirty". A good job was done by all protecting the home front and nobody had to ask a sgt how to do it.
The Pavilion-Cabrini North & Catherine Courts have long been the Section Eight cress pools of 016, but everyone has a cousin that came from Englewoods' that "did it".
Station adjustments put these rambunctious teens back on the streets for tonight. It's for the children's sake.
Soon these utes will be getting Trayvonned on a regular basis. I suspect eventually they'll wise up as their herd thins.
These boys knew where to find east victims. It's good that the police were up to the task.

I work in 016! We had 16 of the 18 cars working chasing these little shit heads. The point of me telling you this is because we have no help in 016. If it wasn't for the outside units and the other districts that responded we would have never caught them. Please, try to keep one radio in the car on zone 1 if your close, we NEED THE HELP! Thank you for the help.
If your reading this and your in a position to assign any help to 016 please do so. Also, a great thank you to the 189 guys who have been doing some good work in 016 lately.
It wasn't even confirmed thst the boys are from Englewood and yet all the comments just assume that the boys are, because of a rumor. Wtf is this, high school? Like the lower half of the northwest side isn't just as horrible as parts of the west and south sides(well more so the west side side than south side), and the offenders aren't possibly from the Hermosa, Kelvyn park, belmont cragin, Logan square, albany park areas-- all parts of the NW/side where you can get shot,stabbed,robbed,raped all in the same day and inhabitants could easily get to the nicer parts of this side of town easily.

Buy yourself a striker fire gun. First research online and find out what the prices are. Then call around. I think the best prices are at a place in Dundee. I really do not have a preference in terms of stores.
Remember, please. A gun is not a toy and take it very responsibly. It is a huge responsibility. Also keep practicing your gun skills. Dry fire every week. It only takes 10 to 15 minutes of practice to perhaps save your or someone else's life.

To the n/w sider inquiring about gun ranges up north-try Maxons at 75 Braddock in DesPlaines. Near Mt. Prospect Road and Oakton. Brand new facility and pretty good people. Shore Galleries at Devon/McCormick was trying to open a range. Don't know if he did as Lincolnwood was giving him a hard time. Gat in Elgin is also a good one.

It was very upsetting reading about the women officers who were attacked over the summer in North Park village. I wish they had been armed.
they'll be out by midnite, if not housed for a couple weeks, then back to same o same o....crook county at its best!!!
