Tony, Is That You?
- A high-ranking Chicago Police Department official was forced to resign in recent months after making “intentionally false and deliberately incomplete” statements under oath during an internal investigation, according to Inspector General Joe Ferguson.
The explosive information is contained in a quarterly report that coincides with Ferguson’s reappointment to another four-year term.
As always, the report merely includes a summary of pending and concluded investigations and does not identify the targets.
It simply states that a “senior official” in the Police Department made “intentionally false and deliberately incomplete material statements” to the inspector general’s office while under oath, violating the municipal code, Police Department regulations and city personnel rules.
Odds on favorite is Carothers. We can't think of any other really obvious ones with the links to corruption, jailed aldercreatures and unexplained sudden leavings.

Here is the poster boy for politics and merit promotions in the Department. He believed he was invincible and deserved every hand out he got. He just wanted more. He wanted it all. Let us be perfectly clear here, though. He was not a police officer. Never was.

Gary remade her a commander after she was demoted. Great judge of character and proves clout rules all. I am sure the hall knew what was going on but they made sure she got her gold braided pension as a goodby gift.

Just read the article. Wow there is no shame in their game in politics. Carothers brothers. I guess the fruit does not fall far from the tree. What is Tony doing now anyhow? Unreal Ike would have the gall to run for office after sitting in prison for two years. Sad part is his 'constituents' will probably land side him back into power because we all know that there is nobody else qualified for that spot.

Whatever the case, what about the discipline these corrupt supervisors administered when in power? Should the cases of anyone disciplined by these mopes be reviewed? There is neither respect or credible acceptance of authority that is this corrupt and it never seems to change in this world of "Chicago Values".

Newsflash to you; it is not Carothers. It's Helm. Both are incredibly stupid and both were merit incompetents, but Helm did not get a pension. And, what says the gray-haired yeti won't hire Carothers in the near future?
SCC needs to expose this mans rise through the ranks then take the media to task for not exposing, let alone even commenting on the racial/political "spoils" system masquerading as a promotional process within the department. Promotions that have nothing to do with public safety and everything to do with appeasing factions of the political class.

I worked with Lynette when she was a sergeant in 007. I thought a lot of her. Sad to see she did unethical things. I never would have thought it of her. Carothers? You are correct, it was Lynette Helm, Commander Lynette Helm on this particular case.
But with all the internal corruption in the expempt ranks attempting to cover up scandals that may come back to haunt them it could be anyone. The SOS scandal is still playing out in court as of today, civil of course, then there's John Burge, Watts, I could go on and on, Helm is far from the only corrupt exempt, she just got caught!
Whoever it was, in this crooked, corrupt City/County we live in, they were able to retire before being fired and will keep all their pension. What a joke!

Carothers' IAD case was turned over to the IG because no one, like the current Chief of IAD, had the balls to do the right thing in a timely manner and sign off on firing him.
FBI wasn't going to charge him, so the evidence went to the IG after a looooooong stall by the alleged "leaders" of this Department.

This is bullshit and a drain on our pension fund. IF THIS FELON, BECAUSE PERJURY IS A FELONY IS SUCCESSFULLY PROSECUTED HE/SHE WILL LOSE THEIR PENSION. IF NOT, THEY RETIRE WITH A GOLD BRAID PENSION THAT WILL EASILY EXCEED A MILLION DOLLARS IN TEN YEARS. If the City had enough pressure to force a resignation, why did they not attach Give Up Your Pension, or we prosecute? Personally, I am fed up with hearing how our pension is a drain on the economy, then you see them throw a Gold Braid pension to a criminal. That video was sent to me also as a forward the C.O. of that unit is a great guy hope no blowback on him that stupid copper that made the video is the same copper that got a cr on sgt in 008 and another on a copper he works with what a stupid moron another black eye during contract time!

Reminds me of Matt Helm, Super American Secret Agent, played by Dean Martin. He is part of Intelligence and Counter Espionage (ICE). He's been gone a while too.
