- The ABC7 I-Team looked into former Chicago Bears receiver Sam Hurd, who faces life in prison without parole on federal drug charges.
The ABC7 I-Team finds that former Chicago Bears receiver Sam Hurd faces life in prison without parole at his sentencing Wednesday on federal drug charges.
There is video of the fallen-NFL star from the night he was arrested in northwest suburban Rosemont.
On December 14, 2011, video shows Chicago Bear wide receiver Sam Hurd walking out of Morton's Steakhouse in Rosemont to his car in a dark parking lot. He was carrying a gift bag containing a brick of cocaine. Moments later, federal agents and police moved in.
They're wasting time on a dope dealer who happened to be in the NFL. He was making a deal to move 50 kilos a week into Chicago, poison that's killing how many people and leading to how much gunfire, maimings and murder?
We guess the pension mess must be fixed, Chicago, Cook County and Illinois budgets must be balanced, constitutional pension fixes must have passed and local politicos must have swept the decks clean of any pending matters.

You are confusing federal v. state courts. The problems you mentioned are all local and must settled locally. This drug bust is a federal beef.
Permissive, sorry for you culture.
It's Sweeps time, SCC. They're smack in the middle of the November tv sweeps period.
This is all about ad revenues. The higher the viewership right now, the more the station can charge for advertising in the next three months.
Pensions aren't sexy. Dope dealing professional football players are more titillating for the viewers.
A pretty hard-hitting "investigation", right off the DEA's/AUSA's press releases.
The I-team gives what the public wants
Hurd is like most nfl and NBA players just thugs with attitudes all Derrick rose!
He's a pro ball player who makes millions- guess he needed a side job to pay for the extra bling. He's part of the "special people" group- they include pro athletes, movie stars, congressmen, etc. ; they don't do time like us commoners. Kind of like how CPD runs- rules for white shirts and rules for blue.
Check out the latest Chicago Reader. They have an article on how the DEA flooded Chicago and Detroit with Kilos of Cocaine and Heroin! Is anyone from DEA going to be prosecuted?
Funny, but they never looked into who in the Dept of Aviation was his buddy and tried to punish city employees smelled a rat.
Word has it that the team charter
aircraft was the favorite way to go.
But then again, half of city hall is probably getting some dope money.
Anybody know what or why this was done?

A Southwest Side man is suing the city, claiming Chicago Police took his dog from his apartment.
Zebedee Ducre, of the 7300 block of South Campbell Avenue, filed the lawsuit Monday in U.S. District Court.
On the morning of May 9, Ducre claims he locked Duke, the family dog, in a crate before leaving his apartment with his two sons, according to the suit.
About 11 a.m., two Chicago Police officers and an animal control officer allegedly entered Ducre’s apartment, removing and impounding the dog, the suit says.
Ducre claims the dog has not been returned and he doesn’t know where Duke is, the suit says.
How about a hard-hitting investigative series on those politicians, corporate/financial and media people who facilitated Chicago becoming the riotous, ghastly, vividly decaying, totally given over to the dogs corruptocracy it is?
>Empty flamin'hots bag blowing in the wind. A dog sniffs a patch of weeds, turns, squats and shits... A rat scurries... A single gun shot and drunken laughter...<
Nah... They'll just continue casting Policemen as the sole bad actors for Chicago's ongoing "Financial Crisis."
Never you mind all the " rich pink guys" (Thank you John Kass) like Daley, Madigan, Rauner, Msall and Rahm al Ghoul, who made their financial killings and are now laughing up their sleeves as they make repeated play after play to get their hands on the last honeypots of "free" money (muni employee pensions) just sittin' around doin' nuttin' just waiting for the "right people" to get their hands on it.
Right people meaning everyone except the people who earned it...
*The Police are the problem in Chicago... Once we FIX them, everything else will fall in place*
Sports Illustrated's MMQB subsection has all that information plus the video. Geez they just copy/paste everything they see.
It's the National Felony League,
get them all together and you might have one hell of a team!
pension....lmao!
Hurd will now be receiving a lot of foreskin instead of pigskin. Good riddance fool
Who the fuck cares about this piece of shit? He had the world by the balls and blew it, an opportunity most can only dream of. Fuck him.
It was mid December. He was obviously using that brick of BLOW for stocking stuffers
Ain't no thang
I-Team?
More like A-Holes.
ABC-7 I-Team with our good friend Chuck Goudie? That guy couldn't find his own dick with two hands and a map.
Saw that item on the news. Said that the drugs were all supplied by the Feds.
While I don't think this is a case of the Feds entrapping some guy. But this sounds like going after the easy pickings. Why not go after the street gangs that move tons of the stuff and kill hundreds in the process? Is it because the gangs contribute to the pols and the Feds are told "hands off?"
The Feds can very easily RICO the gangs. Or ask them " You have no income, yet you drive a $100K car. Where is our taxes?"
Hurd just received his sentence of 15 years…ouch!
Hurd is like most nfl and NBA players just thugs with attitudes all Derrick rose!
