Dad of the Year
People wouldn't believe it if you told them about this, but it's in the paper, so maybe they would this time:
- A man who prosecutors say evaded police in August by placing two toddlers in the middle of a busy West Humboldt Park street was ordered held on $100,000 bail Saturday.
Prosecutors said Lance Harris, 25, was holding a 3-year-old’s hand and carrying a 2-year-old while walking along the 1200 block of North Pulaski Road on Aug. 19. When police officers recognized Harris and approached to arrest him on a warrant, he put the children in the street. As Harris escaped, the children were just 40 or so feet from a CTA bus and a dump truck on the arterial road, prosecutors said.
The children apparently weren’t injured, and officers caught up to Harris on Thursday when he was arrested on two felony charges of child endangerment.
These aren't kids to this asshole - they're props. Something to use as cover. And if the cover is blown, run and leave them behind, tying up who knows how many officers to transport, babysit, and hunt down a "responsible" relative to come get the kids. Ridiculous.

Endangering two kids and a number of civilians driving vehicles, as well as the police officers. And bond is $100,000. That's all two lives are worth these days?

I'm almost 60 years old, and not in the shape I used to be. But I want to beat this asshole! Given the opportunity, I'd take my chances one on one with him. (Doesn't hurt that I've studied/practiced a martial art since 1973 - that's an equalizer, for the apparent age difference.) What a pos.
It is all where you place your priorities. Like Obama, he puts self above everything else, even little children. After all if it is legal to do a live birth abortion, why not leave them in the middle of a busy street at a slightly older age?

This man shouldn't even be in jail. He didn't 'hurt' the children he PUT them down not dropped or threw them. And if the police didn't chase him he wouldn't have done it at all. Sue the police it's their fault.

The 'mother' whose infant recently died while strapped in a car seat, if found guilty, could face a sentence of 2-5 years. 2-5 for a baby death. Tell me life isn't cheap in this city, especially if it is an innocent infant. You kill a gangbanger scum bag with a felony record an arm long, who had it coming anyway, and the sentences are much longer. This asshole will probably get off with even less time. This is so f'd up.
