Final Farewell

  • Cook County said goodbye Saturday to officer Cuauhtemoc Estrada, the sheriff's investigator and Marine Corps veteran who was shot and killed Dec. 20 while protecting his daughter and her boyfriend from armed robbers.

In Holy Name Cathedral, Estrada was celebrated as a dedicated officer who cared deeply about his family and his community. He died serving both, and law enforcement officials from all over Cook County and beyond filled the pews at the Near North Side church to pay their respects.

“He was just a good, strong person with a lot of love for our family,” said Felipe Gallegos, a nephew, who gave the eulogy. “He'd give out the best helping hand he could give to you.”
RIP Officer.

I heard a tribute given over ISPERN radio channel.

It was very nice.

I was moved because I have never heard anything like that before on a police radio.

Just 'some' of those notably absent were, Crook County President Princess Prickwinker,Cook County Board Members, Supt. McCarthy, the Mayor, Governor, Ald. Burke and the other aldermen just to mention a few.
>SAD<
It seems like Deputy Estrada had a strong and caring family presence though. May he rest in peace with the knowledge that his brothers and sisters in law enforcement will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

God Bless our brother.

OT - before one person loses one dollar in pension benefits , unions should demand NO Tax Dollars are used to educate , house , any illegal undocumented person in Illinois .
Also every person on welfare should be reevaluated for benefits . How many homicide victims are still receiving LINK, section 8 assistance , how many criminals are receiving benefits paid by the working class .
Money for Illegals , welfare rats but not for citizens on pension .

Thank you CPD for your assistance, including honor guard.

Remember this: no matter how much you despise the carpet-bagging McCarthy, at least he didn't shed crocodile tears at a funeral like Dart did. Also, Dart--who did not spark during the Mass--managed to be lined up IN FRONT OF THE FAMILY behind the casket as it exited the church. Then goes on TV and whimpers like the little bitch he is.

RIP Estrada

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear."
- Ambrose Redmoon

Officer Estrada knew what was important and gave his life to protect others. There is no finer epitaph.

Rest In Peace

I want to thank the Chicago Police Department, Illinois State Police Department, And all the Suburban Police Departments for showing up to the funeral. Ofc.Estrada was a close friend and one of the best officers I ever worked with. He will be missed. The sad part was that the thugs that did this were roaming the streets and had a criminal background that should have had them off the streets. But due to people like Tom Dart and all the liberals wanting to let all the non-violent offenders out of jail and roam the streets. These thugs were classified as non violent.TOM DART NON VIOLENT OFFENDERS BECOME VIOLENT OFFENDERS WITHIN SECONDS

And yes, it was a nice and fitting tribute that our CPD Honor Guard appeared and offered their services to ceremoniously recover the casket of our lost brother and Marine with the U.S. flag at the conclusion of the mass.
A great job by all involved and a heartfelt, cooperative tribute by our Honor Guard on behalf of a brother, hero and fellow member who served with honor.
Thank you one and all.
Rest in Peace Deputy Estrada.
