"Hide Tommy Hide!"

Hell no Chicago media isn't going to look at these crooked sons o' bitches in city, county, state and national politics!

Why?

Pure and simple fuckery.
That's why!

But let a Copper step away to go take a shit... They'll be banging on the stall door, shoving microphones under the partition and hanging every camera they have over the top to "catch the copper doing something."

>Fart Noise!<

Smell it bitches...
That's the only "guarding the public's right to know" these assholes are good for.

God only knows they were so forcefully energetic in looking the other way while a shanty shit-shack leprechaun named RMD presided over the relocation and redistribution of billions of taxpayer treasure that benefitted talentless fuckheads in the local political cabal like Dart.

Here... we'll save you cretins the trouble of waiting for Rahm & Co. to toss your orders for the next slanted anti-Police hit piece over the transom...

"Chicago Cops Panty Drawer Scandal Brewing! Suspected Of Having Drawers Folded 'Sunny-Side Up.' Rahm Promises Full Investigation"

This city, county and state are destroyed as places worth living in.

Hah! That IS a hypothetical question, correct? I detect just a smear of sarcasm here SCC, so I'll respond in kind.

The South and West sides will cultivate Rhodes scholars, Nobel peace prize winners and two parent families before any media types think about picking up a story like this.

It's funny how Cook county lets their jail guards carry weapons when most other counties in the state don't allow it. Why is that ? Don't they want to follow the socialist anti gun policies? Why is it that the anti gun socialists want all of their people armed, but not the citizens they serve?

Because the county guys aren't really jail guards per se....stateville and Pontiac and those prison officers are jail guards. The county guys are deputy sheriffs with a job title of correctional officer. The jail guys at the county are officers and can carry off duty and have the power to detain someone. A hair gel a few years back had to learn the hard way when he got a beef on him for trying to lock up a sheriff from the jail for UUW. The jail guy wanted to let it go after it was sorted out but I know of at least 2 guys in the district that were telling him to sue because the hair gel was suck a cocky prick.

To 12/27/2013 04:09:00 AM,

It's really sad knowing you are either on the job or praying everyday to get on the job. You are probably a former jail guard who did nothing but talk shit about city coppers, but jumped ship as soon as you could. You "know of at least two coppers in the dist that thought the young officer should be sued"??? That just shows how little you really do know. Go back to breaking up poop throwing fights, leave the police work to the grown ups.

Hey, salty old school type. Cook county is the only county with correctional officers that can carry. It's a political setup that goes back years. No other county in the state allows their correctional officers to carry. Used to be that they would give away those cook county pie plates to politically connected types so they could pack heat.

You didn't know that because we would be calling you a know it all rookie when we were on, youngster.

Like the do a police at both airports have to qualify every year like we do, they can carry off duty but on duty not allowed to have a weapon! Another Chicago story!

I was stopped by a doa officer by midway recently a black female nice officer, looked like Cuba goosing jr, all military type talk, but no weapon. She told me she stopped me because I looked suspicious, I showed her my button, she said ok you can go but be careful. Noticing she had no weapon I told her if you thought I was suspicious why would you stop me without a weapon. She said she has a radio to call for help. Who would she call other unarmed officers? I talked to a female officer CPD at midway about this and she told me they are short handed and that this officer should not be stopping anyone, she should of called CPD officers first. Bottom line I work east side if you see a doa officer stopping anyone please back them up,we can't have any tragedies, then again who are the bosses at doa?

A concealed carry permit is good for 5 years. But under H.R. 218 police must qualify every year to carry. Once retired, police officers pay $100 a year in Illinois, but concealed carry permit holders only $100 for 5 years. Makes lots of sense.

Maybe John Kass can FOI his firearm training records from any of the police training facilities in IL. Start with the Sheriff's academy in Maywood, segue up to Triton College, head down to 1300 W Jackson and if need be head to Springfield for the ISP or drive east to PTI at the Univ of IL.

I can only hope this prick never trained and somebody has the balls not to backdate his training dates

Well, actually you are partially correct. A cook county correctional officer does not have the right to carry a weapon off duty unless he is also deputized as a sheriff. This does not occur, if I am correct, until the probation period is over. I ran across it many times in my years on the job and, frankly, I would not even consider arresting a correctional officer of any agency for UUW. Their job is tough and they should have the right to carry a gun. They can meet former inmates at any time and I always gave them a courtesy and a blind eye. I don't feel bad about it at all.

You are wrong. DuPage carries and there are several counties that choose to Deputize their correctional officers as well. That is what allows them to carry. It is not political, it's merely whether or not the county they work in chooses to Deputize them or not.

You really do not know quite as much as you think there.

Next you will tell me that Cook County is the ONLY county that has felony review. You would be incorrect with that statement as well.

You are better to keep your mouth shut and let everyone think you are a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Wise words for you. Buh Bye now!

As a retired PO I will gladly pay $100.00 each year to qualify. My IROCC card allows me to carry nationwide without many of the restrictions imposed on state issued CCPs.

PS The Will County qualification people rock.

At least with an IROCC ID you can carry legally across the nation. Nobody is going to accept an ILL CCL anywhere but ILL.

Tell your relatives that story at the Holiday Dinner Table. Maybe they'll buy it?

Keep it simple. If you are a "Correctional Officer" you duties are that of a jailguard.
If you are a Court Deputy, you duties are that of a bailiff.
Can you be Deputized-yes.

So what?

You know as well as we know, you're still a jailguard or bailiff.
If you're embarassed of these facts, why do you do that particular job?

But irregardless, hair-gel shouldn't have given you the hard time, no matter what.

The prefix ir means not and the suffix less means without. When you use irregardless, you actually convey the opposite of what meant... with regard. Try regardless next time and break out a dictionary once in awhile.

I'm a former jailhouse medic and current cop. When I started at CCDOC over 20 years ago, I was told that prior to my hire all of the correctional officers were civilians. When there were threats of a strike, the County figured they could prohibit it by deputizing them thus making them sworn. Problem solved.

This is very true. Got a speeding warning ticket(good thing) on irving park east of clark on the way to work at 0600 on a Sunday. I was going about 35-40, but why is that one there? If there is a cubs game going on, nobody can go more than 5-10mph anyway. Both sides of the street have no cross walks and have 8-10 foot high brick walls with cemetery on both sides!
