Sgt Exam Part II Restrictions

An unenforceable provision? Or is this really going to be an issue?
  • o/t- In reading the notice to report email regarding the Sgt exam did anyone pick up on the exact clothing prohibitions for part two. Aside from the obvious I noticed added restrictions including specifically "Hooded clothing or clothing with pockets of any type are not permitted. These items will NOT be allowed in the testing room. "

I've yet to call on this and I am afraid to assume what clothing this pertains to. Clothing with no pockets, really? What clothing doesn't have pockets? My jock even has a pocket. Wtf? Funny to think of 5000 coppers sitting ass naked taking their Sgt exam. Who the fuck proofreads this shit before sending it out?
Hopefully, there isn't a run on spandex and yoga pants in the hard to fit categories. We'd hate to miss part II of the exam.

you got your dresses, your skirts, even dress pants. lot's of women's tops without pockets too.

here's an image for ya.. 5,000 officers in wedding gowns taking the exam. how about that.

which brings us to this thought. this restriction must have been written by a women...right.

There's a new order out requiring that all officers register their duty and non-duty weapons with the Department "by order of The Supt of Police". There is a form that will need to be filled out for each gun you own, signed by your unit supervisor, and sent to the department along with a copy if your id and foid card. So far no charge but I'm sure that will change too. Our own little CPD gun registration database.

Why? Because we will be the first ones they come for when they want to disarm the population. They know most cops despise the corrupt politicians in this town. If they disarm you, you are no longer a threat. You know that there will be sellout cops waiting to work for them when they try this.

Next you will be allowed to work for the socialist party police and issued a weapon from the state so that you can disarm the rest of the population. If you refuse, you will be eliminated.

"As a condition of employment" is the nice fat catch-all.

Registration is the pretext to consfiscation.

Policemen have no constitutional rights that anyone is compelled to respect.

"We gotta know what kind and how many you free thinking, freedom loving coppers got because you might get funny notions to turn your guns against US."

In due time, Chicago coppers might be barred from off duty carry and sidearms will be issued at the beginning of your tour of duty like the radios.

Just wait until the current state mandated minimum training standards are allowed to fall by the wayside and die if/when Chicago invokes the nth degree iteration of "home rule."

This issue came up for discussion at the October FOP meeting. Nothing about it was discussed or resolved in any meaningful manner.

While the new State law prohibits government bodies from requiring firearm registration, it may not prohibit governmental agencies.

The Department wants to know what firearms you have so they can make sure that if you are served with an Order of Protection that prohibits firearm possession then can seize them for the duration of the order. It is cover them so that when someone gets served he/she doesn't go off. Like surrender his duty weapon, then go home, get an off-duty piece and go after the plaintiff.

FOP needs to get out front on this. I don't think a grievance would be successful as there is no contract violation and there is no financial harm. Department has a decent argument.

About all FOP could do is make sure that the officer's records in the database are erased on leaving the department.

Too bad that FOP is not in much shape to anything right now. Not that they ever were that effective before.

"In due time, Chicago coppers might be barred from off duty carry and sidearms will be issued at the beginning of your tour of duty like the radios."

Rumor was that this was briefly looked at in the early 2000's.

Little King Richie was supposedly looking into the City purchasing around 4,000 handguns that would be shift issued.

The idea died quickly when the issues got discussed.

What if:

Previous shift gets delayed? "Squad, hold me down in the station awaiting a gun."

Gun malfunctions and PO is injured? $$$$$$$

What would be the maintenance program? How many certified armorers would the department need?

I wouldn't hit the street with a Department issued firearm until I was sure that it was clean and properly lubed. Strip, clean and oil. Every tour of duty.

A dead idea. Go back to momma's basement.

Dig up her complaint online for a laugh. She wasn't promoted in the first class of captains, for that she sued. "I fell down" she said in the complaint, describing her shock at not being promoted. Her father was shocked. Everyone in her family was shocked. They all had hold of the same electric cord, shocking to all.

True story about the check, several hundred thousand bucks. She showed it around. Plus back pay and back vacation days etc. and back seniority.

On top of it all she was an idiot. Terrible captain. One way person, for herself only. Most people who worked for her wouldn't piss on her if she were on fire. The rest would.

Hot off the presses: If part 1 of the Sgt exam has a cutoff score of 70 -only approximately 1100 persons would pass. This was discussed when determining a cutoff score between City officials and I/O Solutions. The city felt a cutoff score of 70 would be non
inclusive for many persons. When the decided on a cutoff score of 55, only approximately 500 people failed. A sad fact.
Inside guy 35th st.

Pure BS saw letters from guys with higher than a 55 saying they were not eligible to move to part 2

Different subject. Didja hear our beloved president was so busy doing the nation's work and fixing obamacare, that he and his family were unable to attend church on Christmas Eve or Day. Do they even have churches in Hawaii?

Everyone knows you must go to church to appreciate the spirituality of the season. Grow up.

Definitely, sue.
Deloughery got a nice, fat check (which she called people in off the street to look at) in addition to rank, thanks to her suit.

Did she show it to Mike Malone?

To 604am post, BS, of 022, formerly of Ohare, would have some mighty clout to get into a Sgts class off a test he didn't even take due to his seniority.

I have a pair of pocketless Z Cavaricci pants with the Merry-go-round tag still on. Been saving them for a special moment like this. While I'm at it I might break out the I.O.U. Sweatshirt with the Dejaiz tag still on. Life is good.

If you want to meet me at Prime and Tender, I will let you use my members only jacket to complete the outfit.

"A little off topic of naked cops taking exams but, anyone notice the new/amended approved firearm order that came out today? Joe civilian is no longer required to register firearms but we are, it says DUTY AND NON DUTY related. Why? Why do we have to do something that is no longer law?"

Because we have fewer rights than citizens.

While the new State law prohibits government bodies from requiring firearm registration, it may not prohibit governmental agencies."

As long as it's not a city ordinance, and merely a departmental regulation, it's probably valid.

Travon shirts would be a classic move, given all the mutts proctoring. Part 1,saw a large black man testing in a wife beater sitting by the dock door. Looked pretty freakin cold over there. Have to be honest, ill take part2 in my stick hanging out of my boxers if I have to. At the rate these suckers are offering the tests, ill be retired before they give another, and they will still be on #162 from the list.

Please, does anyone has a copy of the answers to the Sgt test or how to go about comparing one's test result and how it was scored?
