No Harm!
In a stunning development, Rahm discovered that Chicago taxpayers weren't swindled by one of his hand-picked flunkies:
- There is no indication that former city Comptroller Amer Ahmad, who faces public corruption charges in Ohio, engaged in any wrongdoing at City Hall, according to a legal review released Tuesday by Mayor Rahm Emanuel's administration.
The review by a law firm and an accounting firm concluded there were no parallels in Chicago to the allegations in Ohio that Ahmad ran a $500,000 kickback scheme with his friends while he was deputy state treasurer. He has pleaded not guilty to federal charges including bribery, money laundering and making false statements.
But there was this little gem:
- The review did find that Ahmad failed to recuse himself from some pension fund votes involving a financial firm that had city business while he was actively seeking a job with the firm, but it concluded there was no harm to the city.
Oh, that little thing? That's just business as usual in Chicago. Ed Burke does it all the time and then goes back and changes his vote in the official city record at a later date.
One really has to wonder that the feds haven't filled their prisons with an entire wing of crooked Chicago pols. They could build, finance and run an entire prison at a profit if they'd bother to prosecute and collect fines from Chicago, Cook County and Illinois politicians.

Today, my elderly mother asked how the City and State could get away with the stuff they're pulling lately and I told her it's because Illinois and Chicago are the most corrupt state and city in the country.
I thought I'd spend my life here, but I'm leaving. I have to find a place where my diminished pension income will stretch farther than it does here.
Yeah, like international gun-runner Eric Holder is going to go after fellow democRats scamming for chump change.
Build a wall around Washington and put guards outside. Get Snake Pliskin to rescue Paul, Cruz and a hand full of others and you have ESCAPE FROM D.C. I'd pay to see that.
Two words why....Obama holder.
If only the feds weren't caught up in their very own scandals, we might actually have a DOJ that goes after crooked pols in Chicago...
Oh, wait- they are ONE AND THE SAME!
But, one day, should they ever do some actual law enforcement, perhaps they could use the recently purchased Thomson Prison facility to house THEMSELVES.
Let's see... 2 govs. now in prison approved the construction of a new prison that sat empty because there was no actual money to run it.
our new governor claims the solution is to sell it to the fed BOP so they can fulfill obama's empty-headed promise to close Gitmo.
Obama had to almost admit that was just more of his usual campaign bullshit but as a consolation prize and pseudo bailout, and more political "horsetrading" that when blago did it was illegal, now allowed Obama to approve purchasing the empty brand new prison for 165 million dollars!
Durbin ran around howling about how wonderful all those jobs would be and how many jobs saved or whatever made up economic terms they invented that week- the prison would bring to the quad cities...
The problem? The feds, made to stuff their gitmo plan up Holder's ass, announced that though they bought the thing, had no money to house anybody in any new prison...
Meanwhile, back in Quinn's big empty head, he was suddenly trying to make sense of the report that said Illinois had better do something about the recidivism rate directly related to all his failed early release programs- and the consequence of any new truth-in-sentencing related to the gun bills his own party had been proposing- to dissuade any more pesky gun law violators created by their own misguided attempts the past 20 years to make anything gun related a "serious crime" with "very stiff penalties..."
Good. Fine. Keep the recidivism rate down. maybe DON'T LET THEM OUT before their sentences are up?!!!
Is it even recidivism when they weren't even supposed to be out yet in the first place? Seems to me you're setting up the poor bastards to fail, don't you think?
I mean, you din't even pretend to "rehabilitate" them before you walked them out the back door and put them on a van back to Chicago from downstate before they even had a chance to stretch their legs from the shackled bus ride downstate from county...
Here's my favorite part.
Quinn looked dazed and confused when asked why the analysis of his prison woes were so hard to manage by simply keeping the inmates their full minimum stay.
His response? We're too crowded and have no where to put the estimated 2400 inmates the tougher gun laws would create...
Hmm, I wonder how many inmates fit in that empty Thomson facility with its 15 buildings, 1600 cells and additional 200 bed minimum security wing? Oh, 2800? Well...isn't that special?
Before they cry about the money, When Durbin was criticized for the additional expense and timing of the sale to the feds he said naysayers were just trying to obscure the good news. Wasn't it just about the economic focus on jobs and stimulus to the local area, he said...
Durbin said building a facility like that from scratch would now be 400 million, so wasn't it a good thing Ryan and Blago did in hindsight, Ryan for approving it and Blago for seeing it through...
and the 50 million a year to operate, a small price to pay for the 60 million in local business sales and 120 million in revenue from the 1000 jobs the prison would generate?
Why, you could rename it the Govs. Ryan and Blagojevich Prison Facility and be the first Prison with a grand opening day ceremony with the namesakes present and in IDOC uniforms... and cellmates, to boot. Obama would have a chance to give a speech and use his favorite line about it all being so historic and "unprecedented."
Bunch of buffoons.
And for the record 2 felons filed their papers to run for office in up coming election
What is a City Comptroller doing voting on issues relating to pensions?? Voting where and when?
Will the media ever answer the relevant questions??
Ahmad was a trustee of the City's four pension funds. Thanks Rahmmy!!
Big government and unions, no wonder the nation and cities are going broke. Yea lets all go out and protest so hamburger flippers can get paid $15.00 an hour. See what that does for the price of a burger. But no sweat it will give the SEIU and other unions more money to elect more big government politicians.
Ya know, I heard from a very reliable source that at the courthouse, if the morons working there want to wear jeans on casual friday, they have to pay $10.00 to "Dorothy" for her own personal fund. WTF is this about? Why is there casual Friday anyway? And why is this standard practice and why has nobody put a stop to this bullshit. And yet we wonder why this city is run by a bunch of asswipes?

That's two felons in addition to should-be-a-felon Todd Stroger. You ever see a more corrupt legislative body of thieves, liars and scoundrels as the Cook County Board and the Chicago City Council?
SCC-Might I suggest adding a widget for Twitter/Facebook to your blog so that we may repost your content more easily.
Rahm is one sneaky bastard.
This shit will never end unless people get out and VOTE these asswipes OUT of office. Why there is not a complete voter uproar in this state is beyond me. Vote these people out for cryin out loud. All people have to do is read about WHO gets all the big dollar multiple pensions to realize how badly this state is rigged.
Forensic audit of only one particular City Hall ledger.
Surprisingly no malfeasance.
Where in the basement did Rahm hide the rest of Daley's books?
Though its no crime to allow real estate deals to be made using the pension funds of various city entities, fail to upkeep pension contributions and flatly deny any impropriety.
This is one awfully honest and truly transparent Administration that I wholly trust and believe is looking after my financial well being, because I felt this City could not sustain any wrong doing by an elected official ever again since Rahm the Reformer took over!

Wow. A reliable source? I guess you missed it when it was plastered all over the media a couple of years ago. Old news.

You know this job is getting the best and finest. Dont see how you could get anything over on this guy, he has a "source" that probably actually watched the news or reads the newspaper in the last few years

I will give you a hint why there is not a complete voter uproar. Because they dont get these pensions and they are not unhappy seeing the politicians trying to reduce ours. What percentage of Illinois voters get a municipal pension? less than 5% I'm betting
One other point I havent seen mentioned, The most lucrative pensions are the federal ones and I dont see any action taken by the politicians to reduce them. City state and county jobs across the country have been cut, but federal jobs continue to be bl;oated
We believe this because Rahm is such a trustworthy character who would never lie.
