iPhone Robberies Again

It must be too cold for the regular packs of wilding youth, but that doesn't mean crime is down...and on tourists, too:
  • Police are on the alert after two incidents over the weekend involving an armed robber in the downtown Chicago area.

The first incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North State Street.

Police say a man followed a 12- and 15-year-old girl into a building, and when they got on the elevator, told them he had a weapon and demanded money.

Police say he stole an iPhone and $20. Investigators are looking at surveillance video from the incident.

The second robbery occurred at 2:30 a.m. in the 600 block of North Michigan avenue.

A 20-year-old California woman was headed back to her hotel when a man approached her from behind, placed something to her head and threatened to shoot her.
And the always politically correct NBC states the following:
  • No arrests have been made in either case, but police have suspect descriptions in both incidents.
Really? Would you mind sharing that info with the public so that they can be on the alert and maybe, you know, avoid or prevent a robbery from occurring?

Amazingly, the Tribune actually publishes full descriptions.  You can read them here.

When in doubt, just place blame upon the Pilgrims. I think even the public is aware of the race of the offender when the race isn't given by the socialist propaganda wing.

I was driving with my family at Ogden and Pulaski at 6:30 p.m. today. The police were chasing a cell phone robber across Ogden from the mall lot on Pulaski. The police chased this fool on foot and tackled this fool after he tossed the cell phone in the alley. There have been lots of iphone robberies by the l- train and CTA stops by those young boys. Thank you. Thank you police for making north lawndale safeand making a difference and acting as positive roll model for my children. Good job! A lot of people are fed up with all this b.s., and you guys have much more support from the positive residents than you imagine. And thank you to the police out south who did a check unannounced on my grandmother in the last week's real cold weather.

Come to think of it, other than, Football that channel might as well not even exist. Even during a football game on NBC, you have to watch out for the liberal drivel of Bob Costas.

You are dumb. Do you think it is as easy as they show it in the movies or even in your feeble minded imagination? In one of the robberies, the offender put a gun to the back of the victim's head. Even if you did carry concealed, what the fuck is the victim supposed to do? The best thing one can do is be proactive and don't be stupid by texting or talking on your cell phone in public. It can wait. Besides, most texting and cell phone conversations are inconsequential anyways.

When the media does not give a description of the offenders it is a foregone conclusion that the offender is black. Nothing racist just a fact. The public knows they are black, but somehow not saying the racial makeup of these offenders, will make it seem that there is not a problem within the black community. The truth will set you free, i can't remember what civil rights leader said that but it seems to be falling of deaf ears.

TIP:

Preckwinkle goes into Racist Rant as Sheriff Dart hands over police powers to her office!

"As I've said before, the jail is the intersection of racism and poverty," Preckwinkle said after the Cook County board meeting.

More than two hours into the meeting of the Cook County board, the report of the Finance Subcommittee on Legislation was introduced and quickly approved by a routine voice vote. No one commented on the matter. The commissioners moved on to the next item on their 61-page agenda.

But tucked inside the report was a resolution proposing that Cook County board president Toni Preckwinkle be given the authority to release some low-risk defendants while they're waiting to go on trial—and, by doing so, to challenge the decisions of judges who won't make the call.

Dart and his aides have made it clear that they don't think it's appropriate for the jailer to be determining who's locked up. "We're entrusted to care for and keep custody of these people if they can't post bond," says Cara Smith, executive director of the jail.

But the sheriff's office shouldn't then be able to declare, "'You ten people deserve to be released.' It's a second-guessing of the judge's decisions."

Dart and Preckwinkle decided to try shifting responsibility for the release program to Preckwinkle's office and expanding the criteria so that more detainees are eligible. The move needs approval from the federal court; passage of the resolution by the county board was meant to show that it has broad support.

I see the Entitlement Generation has chimed-in once more.

Can someone...anyone...please decipher what this imbecile submitted?

From the gist of your hogwash, I did gather you are unhappy with your performance on the sergeants exam. Maybe had you prepared like those that took this once-in-seven-year-opportunity seriously, you wouldn't be laying blame at the feet of the test developer and grasping at thin air to justify your shortcomings.

Here's the deal: there'll be NO review and/or dismissal of questions from the test (especially not ones you did particularly lousy on).

If you do a bit of research, you'll see that test developer IO Solutions has defended - and won every time - their development process up to the Supreme Court when sniveling dolts like yourself claim bias on test content. Sorry to break the bad news to ya champ, but in a nutshell you're ass-out here.

In the meantime, maybe you should check out a refresher course or three on English comprehension and basic writing/sentence structure. Perhaps acquiring and mastering these elementary skills will pay dividends on the NEXT sergeants exam.

A good place to start is obtaining a Costco membership card for fifty bucks and then contacting the Costco new automobile buying service. You will be directed to a new car dealer and be told the price of the new car over the phone. Prior to walking into a dealership always know exactly what the dealer cost is by having a Consumers Report Automobile Price sheet. The guide is available on-line for approximately fifteen dollar for the first car, and less for each subsequent car. Jennings Chevrolet and VW was always reasonable. After doing all the above and getting the lowest price-lower by a lot-I produced my drivers license prior to test driving a demo and the salesman saw my CPD ID in my wallet. He asks if I'm a PO to which I answer affirmatively. He states his dad works the desk on the 1st watch in 016 and immediately another twelve hundred dollars comes off of what is already the lowest price I found on a new VW. It was years ago but Jennings is about as good as you'll get. They're Catholics and donate heavily to Catholic schools. And they presently have a torch red 2014 Stingray protected by velvet ropes in the Chevy showroom. Hmmm. I might beat you over there.

No No NO!

Crime is down.

We have "enough" Police.

The Police we have are underworked and overpaid.
(Rahms Ministry of Propaganda)

The already "sweet and lavish" compensation of The Police which we have "enough" of, must be "proven" (>Snicker!< See what we did?) as detrimental to the city's finances and must be demonstrated to the tax payers in order to generate a ground swell of outraged calls by the public demanding this compensation be curtailed by municipal and state law makers.

(Rahm's Ministry of Propaganda again)

So...
Whither public safety when the line of diminished Police presence intersects with the lines of intentionally curtailed funding on public safety and the lies based on the municipal administrators attempts to institute their OWN definition of what crime actually is in order to trumpet through the media that it is down?

O_o?

Never you mind the vile and evil, lyin' m/fers behind that there curtain...

"The Police ARE the problem in Chicago... Once we fix them, everything will fall in place."

The way these corrosive fucks in muni-gov and the media are doing business, The Police would arguably fare better if THEY were the ones slapping people in the eye and relieving them of their property.

All things considered...

Shop around. Don't fall for that buy-it-today-price. Haggling is part of the dance. No deal without a dance. You have to tell them what you'll pay.
I've bought 3 new vehicles in the past 8 yrs, all from different dealers, each time I was around 15-22% off sticker. Thats about fair as it gets. Low end models dont discount well as the loaded ones. Oh, if a dealer lets you test drive alone, it's a good sign, it can mean it isn't a high pressure dealership. And there's a lot of truth to buying at the end of each quarter.
Stay clear of Golf Mill, they held ("lost")my trade-in keys (red flag)until they finished their pitch. Way over priced too. Grossinger on Lincoln Ave(?) used to be good, Napleton on Dempster(?) very pleasant.

"...In the mean time, there is an "unwritten rule" put out by Patrol to have the lieutenants "act down" as the DSS when there is only 1 or 2 sergeants working on the watch on a particular day..."

but the lieutenants are still incapable of handling the desk stuff and some PO (who has likely spent the last two years doing the desk sgt stuff- expecting to win grievance) is STILL doing the work-----and when there is a Sgt DSS the Lts roll in late and leave early -- with no continuity or accountability between any of the ranks or watches

Some of you people who keep posting "once I get my gun as a ccw holder, I will blast these fuckers". You don't know what the hell you are talking about. Just because you carry a gun doesn't make you stronger or braver. Always and I mean always be aware of your situational surrounding. There really is no point to carrying a gun if you are not going to be aware what is around you. Always keep a distance between you and a possible offender. Always watch their hands. Always watch their hands. If the bad guy has the upper hand on you and he already has his gun out then you better be quick with your gun and move. MOVE, don't just take your gun out and stand still in one location. Fucking move as in move fast zig zagging left, right, up and down while you shoot the bad guy.

Trust me when I say this to you. It is from personal experience. Getting involved in a deadly force encounter is nothing like it is in the movies. In a high stress situation a lot of your motor skills go out the window. Just concentrate on getting your gun out and pointed in the direction of the bad guy and squeeze the trigger.

jacking people up for their smartphones is good for chicago's economy -- ask rahm, he'll tell you.

it's called 'broken windows economics'. a guy named keynes came up with the theory

why would rahm or gary want to stop the smart phone thefts.

when the phone gets stolen the tourist run over to the cell phone store and buy a new one.

how the hell would chicago politicians hold pressers boasting about city gdp growth and job creation if these tourist are not forced to buy new phones. heh.

i'll tell you what...

if gary mccarthy and rahm emanual really cared about crime they would have joined the calls from places like california that are demanding cell phone manufactures to install kill switches inside the phones that would make the phone a worthless brick once it is remotely activated. and who would want to steal a brick

companies like chicago's motorola and others hate this kill switch idea as they profit from the crime.

it's these same corporations that pull the stings on the chicago Scaramouch. these corporations made the campaign donations to put certain people in office so favors are expected in return.

so please..give the corporations the professional courtesy and just keep your fucking mouths shut in the tower of power -- 'code of silence' on the 5th floor like the gangster disciples, Latin kings, two-sixers and all the rest

you'll notice how there are no compstats crime stats being publicized on how many crimes are smartphone driven no-no-no this is good for the economy....right.

in cal. it's been published that fifty percent of robberies/thefts are smart phone related.

go ahead and try..just try to get a stat out of the downtown tower of bullshit and watch how long it takes before the media gets flooded with yet another gun control propaganda diversion message.

well mayor... police super.. what about the children. we don't hear you calling for cell phone kill switches from the manufacturers that would end this bullshit.

broken windows economic google it.

this city's political apparatus doesn't want to stop the shootings, the homicides or cell phone thefts because of broken windows economics.

look at that velocity of money force4d to change hands for hospital bills, er docs and rehab techs..not to mention that companies like accretive health that rahm so much is in love with that he tried to intimidate the mn attorney gen. to back off on complaints of patients being pretty much strong arming patients in the er rooms about bill payment for care. ya don't want to 'hurt' their profits now do you..

it's sickening.. all of it

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Today had nothing to do with your pension. It was all about mark and billy posturing for the election. They were hoping to get the same numbers at the meeting that they got about a year ago. My partner sent me a text that a retired captain and one or two po’s asked good questions. And about six po’s embarrassed themselves by making idiot comments. All of the citywide executive board ask one question apiece as written in their script. My partner said it was a waste of time even for the dicwads from the citywide team.

No one was there to hear them act important or is that impotent?

Little safer if you make them work for it. 2 buses to a train to another bus is way to much work.....we will just stay here.....be careful when going downtown to shop. Not just from the shitheads but from the 10 percent sales tax......thank god for the internet (other than the porn reason)

In this current political correct era if you shoot someone who is "unarmed" then you are fucked. Especially if you are white and the offender is black. You are really fucked if you are a male white over 40 years old and the offender is a male or female black between the age of 8 and 17. Now you are really, really, really fucked.

When these animals go out robbing and beating on people, they are looking for the easy prey. They are looking for the person who is listening to their music on their cell phone, someone texting while walking, someone playing a game of candy crush on their phone, etc.... Do not become the easy prey. The criminal would much rather target someone who is doing the above than someone who is aware of their surrounding.

That is a truly great question. Here's the answer: If someone is attempting to rob you, and they imply they have a weapon, you are in fear for your life, aren't you? There is no statutory requirement that you wait and see, or are able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt (you'd be dead by then), that he WAS going to kill you after all! Yes, you might get arrested, you might even get charged (you should not), but there's no way a jury of your peers is going to convict you. Better to be judged by six than carried by twelve. If someone tries to rob anyone on this blog, there is little doubt that the offender is going to get lit up like a Christmas tree. That is the honest answer to your question.
