The First Double of 2014
- Two men were shot to death after an apparent home invasion Sunday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood.
About 5 a.m., Chicago police were summoned to an apartment building in the 9100 block of South Commercial Avenue. The caller said a man had been shot in a neighboring apartment and turned up at the neighbor’s door for help, according to police.
The injured man collapsed in the neighbor’s apartment and was dead by the time officers arrived. Police found a second man shot to death in the building. Both men were thought to be in their mid-30s.
We don't think McCompStat is still separating "innies" and "outies" - everything is a "death investigation" and "mutual combatants."

None of this really matters anyways... Last January the city had 43 homidides which is a ton for January.. Even with the double I think we are still at only 8 or 9.. You do the math because mccompstat already is.. Look for a huge news conference jan 31st about the decrease.. We're already down 71 percent for the month from this time last year... But shall we not forget, last February the numerous news conferences and stories about the least amount of homicides for the month of February in 2013 since the 1940s... That number was 21.. Watch the city blow past that this year.. Last feb was brutally cold and snowy. Any break of weather in feb and the numbers and gmac are fd... Keep your fingers crossed gmac that Mother Nature doesn't decide to break this cycle.
This report raises so many questions. Two men dead, but were they both bad guys, one bad guy and a victim, or two good guys? At least they died indoors where it is warm, and not outside in the snow and ice, where there blood would have frozen.

Says a lot about Dean. Don't drink the Kool Aid. He never wanted to come back.
Gangbangers killing each other doesn't get me going. Not being able to safely drive down the expressway or walk down Michigan Avenue is a problem for me.
Cpd should reort the number of homicide victims that were gang members and had arrest records.

It isn't the numbers but the perception of crime and safety that matters. And because I carry a Glock and extra magazines at all times, I perceive I am as safe as can be with all these creatures with such wonderful character content inside their miserable ghetto asses.
The Glock helps keep a safe zone, sort of my own little safe passage area all around me. Although I call it a kill zone. So don't get in my kill zone with threats and menacing in your hearts and minds.

Everyone that is on duty disability is all ready taking your money. Their pay comes out of the money you put into the pension fund. Most, not all of the medical disabilities can still work for the police department in some way and should. There are plenty of things they could do.

Let them write parking tickets ect.
Find them something to do and make up a community service uniform if they can't be the police.

Now that may sound harsh, But considering the Dean Angelo comment, remember Dean is getting a 75% duty disability that you are already paying. He doesn't have to pay taxes on that money. Now Dean wants you to give hime another 200 grand or so for a few more years on top of that. Donahoe, Dougherty and Shields suck too. So the next time somebody says fuck the city and talks about how they are on duty disability but can still work other jobs they wouldn't have the time for if they were still the police. They aren't fucking the city they are fucking you, the working paying his dues, taxes and pension portion in full.

I don't think any superintendent, whether it's Bozo the Clown or the most capable candidate in the country could have any effect on the Chicago crime rate.....the main thing that would curb violence is more police on the dept., not redeployed or redistributed. More cops period. And after that, fix the f*cked up Cook County criminal justice system that has a revolving door spinning at warp speed.
Just remember crime is down to historical levels.
Try convincing these two families of that.

Please be correct before posting. A scenario question was thrown out but it wasn't the squatter question. That one stood and it was a swat scenario. Only one scenario was thrown out and it was the second part of the pursuit question about the balancing test. Yes I know, all the other fd up questions and that part of one scenario gets thrown out.. Channel 5 covered it and also talked about two women being held up at gunpoint in an elevator in a mag mile building. Said police have issued a 'warning to women' in the area.
Speaking of channel 5, their 10pm weather bunny, with the cocktail party dress, annoying whiny voice and bobble-head inability to hold still in one place... is - uh - entertaining for all the wrong reasons.
Has anyone noticed the increase in shootings in the 1600-1800 block of south Central Park in the 10th District? One man shot dead, one shot three times in span of 1-3 months.
